It doesn't seem to work much there but if the cops showed up and got into shoot-outs OK Corral style every day, people would blame the cops for it and a lot of cops would be dead from gang violence. And to take Chicago as the example for the rest of the country is disingenuous, to me. Considering that other large cities don't quite behave that way. I don't know the actual statistics but a lot of this comes right back to the war on drugs and the mentality behind it. Which has been shown to be racially motivated and didn't solve anything. That shaped the basis for how law enforcement views and treats black people. If you create laws that create criminals, you then view those groups and criminals and they don't stand a chance.
FOX news on TV....it looks like a couple of cops got shot at the protest in Dallas. Something big is happening. EDIT: There were 2-3 cops on the ground not moving before they cut away. Now they're showing police scattering and reporting shots fired.
Interesting tactic with respect to the Clinton email stuff. While Clinton has been cleared of criminal charges/indictment, there's some noise now that enough shit has been shown about how badly she handled her information that she shouldn't be given any security clearances. Kind of hard to be Pres without security clearance. Now, assuming that she gets some sort of pardon and does get the required security clearances, the shit that came out from all of her top aides has, so some feel, precluded them from being able to get the required clearances to do their jobs as her aide. It could very well be that Hillary has to clear out a whack of her staff and start over. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out.
Completely moot point. The ability to classify or declassify information is an executive power, and thus the authority to do so flows from the president. As does the authority to bestow classification authority on subordinates. If she is elected president, she has de facto security clearance to every piece of classified information the US has.
The president doesn't get a security clearance. They get to see everything without going through that process.

I am so tired of dumb, scared, short sighted, miserable little people. America is on the precipice of something ugly. The next 2 elections will decide what kind of country we wish to be. If Trump wins, it will be decided quickly. It will be that we gave up. We let fear and stupidity win. We let regression in and allowed tribalism to overshadow the bonds of being countrymen. We've been pissing away our credibility, defunding our schools, ignoring our infrastructure, staging political theater. And this is what we get.
It is sad that we will get to see just how little race relations have moved in this country. It is a very gross time in this country for sure.
