I'm not a doctor but that looks pretty serious and concerning. If she has pneumonia and was already diagnosed, why isn't she home resting? I think people would be pretty understanding about such things. From this angle, it looks a lot worse, it seems like the only thing keeping her vertical are the bollard and someone's firm grip.
Dr. Drew Pinsky has been saying that for a while... when she fell and hit her head, she suffered brain damage that affected her balance, so had to wear special prism glasses. "Why wasn't that discussed or explained at all?" Then her heart tests were "antiquated", and he said it was like someone she knew from Arkansas as a kid was her care giver, not someone who has the skills deserving of a Presidential candidate. It'll be interesting to see how CNN responds, if they do, now that they've cancelled his show (supposedly) based on the comments he made about her health.
People ignore doctors advice for far more mundane things than a Presidential election campaign... I dont think its unreasonable to think shes been pushing it despite what her doctor is telling her to do. At this point, with all the speculation on the state of her health, do you really think people would be that forgiving? It would be her fucking death knell for this election... Not to mention the Trump camp would have an absolute fucking field day if she cancels any event for health related reasons... She could catch a common cold at this point and her campaign would take a massive hit
CNN wanted to cancel Dr Drew anyway. His ratings were garbage and the network is doing a format change. The medical issue thing was just an excuse. As for Clinton, her ardent supporters are going into meltdown mode. I was previously trying to give it the benefit of the doubt, but it's yet another deceit from her campaign. Last week she had allergies. When she collapsed yesterday, it was "dehydration/overheating" Then 8 hours later, it's revealed she has pneumonia which was diagnosed a few days ago. She's also wearing anti-seizure sunglasses, for pneumonia apparently. Why was a 70 year old woman with pneumonia not resting when it can take an elderly person a month to recover from that? Given the current information, the reaction of her aids and the secret service is also quite telling. No panic, no frenzy. Just flopping her body into the back of a van. I wonder if it's happened before.
I had pneumonia and that shit had me down and out for days, too weak to walk much further than too the bathroom. And I was in my 30's. Seeing her smiling, waving and walking around 90 minutes later has me skeptical of their explaination.
Either that, or they have her so hopped up on meds that they're able to create the illusion that she's well. I'm guessing someone in her position could get their hands on any drug they needed to keep the ship sailing.
The thing about the pneumonia diagnosis is that I've seen video of her having one of her extended coughing spells from January...almost 8 months ago, and she was just diagnosed Friday? Given her campaign's history of outright lying, I don't buy it. It also opens up the question, if their excuse is "It's only pneumonia ", how bad is her health exactly? Is she dying?
I've had pneumonia twice. Once in my mid twenties and once when I was thirty. It was fucking debilitating. I worked through it the second time and didn't rest like I should have. The Husband (then The Guy) was horrified at my condition but hey. If I didn't work we didn't eat so I worked. Standing in heat would've been a no go (for me). You can call 80° not hot if you want but pneumonia, a pantsuit plucked from Kim Jong Un's closet, probably body armor (as previously mentioned), a crowd, and no kind of breeze? And a senior citizen? Shit man. That sounds miserable. All that said, her coming out a little while later waving and smiling doesn't jibe with my experience with pneumonia. Like at all.
Yes, you mean like back in 2012, when she was Secretary of Defense, and her testimony before congress about the Benghazi incident was delayed? That was when she got dehydrated, fainted and suffered a concussion. Her doctor mentioned something about double vision back then, so maybe that's what the special glasses are for? It's like everything else the candidates face, for anything. Doing a favor for a friend is a cover up, or a simple act of kindness is only done for political gain, and so on. There are no "regular people" issues, and every announcement or diagnosis or anything is a no-win. If she "just has a cold" and has to cancel something, she's seen as weak, since she can't even power through a cold. If she has pneumonia, she will be criticized as a frail old lady who's not fit to be President.
Because when someone is applying for what is arguably the most stressful/physically and emotionally taxing job in the world it would be nice to know whether that person is in the physical condition to handle the rigors of the position. This isn't specific to her, I would question any 70 year olds ability to spend four (eight?) years doing it. It also follows along with what a lot of detractors say. You get this "I know better than all of you and I'll tell you what you need to know" attitude. And you can use the excuse of the media over blowing things or people being stupid so she doesn't want her opponents to be able to spin stories worse than they are. But it gives me a sense that she will continue to act according to what she says is best and when people question it she will continue to just blow it off and say it's people trying to smear her. Which is part of it, but she doesn't do herself any favors. And this is coming from someone who will vote for her.
Trump is 70. Reagan was often teased for being old, and is the oldest president to be elected, and if Trump wins, he would top that. Interesting factoid, but not that important. @audreymonroe The 40% or so that will definitely vote for Trump don't care, and many of them will just use her unhealthy condition to bash her. The 40% or so that will vote that will definitely vote for Clinton don't care about it any more than other issues her opponents point out. But, the media cares and the other 20% might care for several reasons. Each candidate has a media pool that is assigned to them. Clinton's were mislead, and they don't like that, because they feel like they are supposed to be a conduit to the public. A few weeks ago, when her health was brought up, those people were told by her campaign to "get a life" and were dismissed. If the press is continuously fed lies and secrecy, eventually, they'll start siding with her opponents and conspiracy folks in the "what else is she hiding" camp. Undecided voters care, because they may want to know if they're actually casting their vote for Tim Kaine, and what does that mean? Or, maybe they like her because of the opportunity to vote and elect the first woman president, and if she's truly not healthy enough to make it, what does that mean? I think you're right, though, in that most people won't care, but not sure about whether or not we should care. Reagan got shot, Bush threw up all over a diplomat - presidents get sick and continue, so surely candidates can. However, I think the whole mistrust thing will probably just pass, as it has with other such claims against her. Maybe the health issue will pop up in a debate question, but, Trump's next "build a wall" comment will take over the news cycle.
My comment about the age wasn't specific to Clinton. I actually question it for anyone. I'm much younger so I have no experience obviously but just with people in my family at that age I couldn't imagine them handling the rigors of the job on a day to day basis for the whole term. I could be completely wrong and don't have facts to back it up, just an observation.
XKCD does some great data visualization stuff... here's one on climate change. It's kind of big, so spoilered. Spoiler: BIG
Honestly, what hasn't Hillary or her camp lied about? I'm not a Trump fan... I live in a historically Democrat state... And I have yet to meet anyone who wants Hillary as President no matter what. Plenty of people say "...instead of Trump", but I have never met a bonafide Hillary supporter. My question about Hillary is: How does she have any credibility at all? If the Republicans had any sense (which they obviously fucking don't), they would have put up the most middle of the road, conservative without being ridiculously religious candidate who had very limited skeletons in the closet and walked away with this election. Hillary is obviously filthy and corrupt, and will most likely be the next President of the United States, because the Republicans are fucking stupid.
The last two choices, McCain and Romney, were about as milquetoast vanilla as you can get. Maybe the voters were tired of getting their heads kicked in for supporting such a candidate? If Obama had not swooped in and taken the nom from Hillary, she'd have had a better than 50/50 chance to win against McCain.
http://www.fury.news/2016/09/conspiracy-theorists-say-hillary-replaced-body-double-pics/ I know it's not a really reliable source for news or anything, but the tweets in the article do make some interesting points about the way Hillary looked after she left Chelsea's apartment. With the way the Clinton campaign has been changing stories and covering shit up for so long, I wouldn't be surprised if it was a body double.
This election is quickly becoming The Twilight Zone. Hillary's web site has put up a page "Exposing" a meme: https://www.hillaryclinton.com/feed/donald-trump-pepe-the-frog-and-white-supremacists-an-explainer/ Within hours, right on cue, CNN and MSNBC had stories on their networks about this "Evil" meme. I'm glad there's nothing important going on in the world right now.
https://twitter.com/_andrewcarter/status/775505479862743040/photo/1 I'm not sure how to embed but that's the NCGOP response to the NCAA removing seven national championship games in various sports from North Carolina in response to the HB2 "bathroom" law. I'm at a complete loss for why they're still fighting this battle. If the response was a parody it would be pretty funny, sadly it's not. "The decision is an assault to female athletes across the nation"
