Unless I'm misunderstanding the CIA's capability, they can only make it look as if they are someone else, they can't make party A look like party B after the fact. It's like spoofing a phone number on caller-id; they can call you and make it look like it was your boss calling, but they can't go and make a call from your wife look like a call from your slutty coworker.

And when it came to the wikileaks email dumps, it didn't have to do a whole hell of a lot to sway an election. All they had to do was show Bernie supporters how they were getting screwed over the whole time to keep them from either going to the polls or voting for someone else. We aren't even talking about a lot of people here.

But I don't believe in coincidences when it comes to the timing of how they release info.

The wikileaks was largely stuff anyone with half a brain already knew. How was it not already obvious that Hillary's private paid message to the banks was different than her public message, or that CNN and other media outlets were colluding with her campaign? The only thing that was really shocking was the depth of mental gymnastics some people did to try to rationalize them.

Something I hadn't really thought about before this latest wikileaks batch was released- once driverless cars become popular it will be possible for someone to hack the car and control it/assassinate someone. That is some serious science fiction bond movie villain type stuff and just weirds me out. Car crashes of the future might come rife with conspiracy theories whenever someone famous is involved.

    This tactic isn't anything new.

I'm sure it was just a "coincidence" that Bin Laden wasn't heard from in two years and then he releases a video the day before the 2004 election that Bush (riding his 9/11 paranoia train) won. Don't tell me that Rove and co. weren't sitting on that video for months.

    You're incorrect.

It's like fucking in the dark. Every partner has their signature moves that you recognize as being them due to the style and process/mechanics they use. In this case, the CIA is fucking you while mimicing other countries' moves. You're there in the dark, getting fucked, and it feels to you like it was Natasha, but really it was Daisy pretending to be Natasha.

That kind of car crash stuff already exists with the Canbus access via Onstar, that kind of thing.

I'm not seeing the difference between this metaphor and my metaphor. The CIA can make the CIA's actions look like Russia's actions, but Seth Rich would still look like Seth Rich.

    My bad... I misunderstood.

The caller-id thing is a bad example, though, as it's pretty fucking trivial for the CIA to do exactly what you said because it's a shitty system with some of the most fucked up protocols ever.

It was more of a metaphor than an example. Even I can spoof caller ID I'm sure with a quick google search.

If they can do it with cars, why not planes? How long have they had this capability? I can only imagine where the tinfoil hat-wearing people would go with that information.

I'm putting my aluminum foil hat in the microwave and turning it on. Thats sticking it to the man.

I've said it before, the best thing to ever happen to intelligence communities is smart phones. The only way to ensure they can't turn them on or hack them is to take the battery out and put them in the freezer.

American intelligence is aggressive. I never want to be one of the people they start noticing.

I mean there are 'smart' microwaves with wifi and bar code scanners. Absurd to connect that with Trumps tweets as a explanation, but not out of the realm of possibility as far as possible spy device given the recent leaks.

I have no reason to believe this specific event today had anything to do with terrorism. With that said, they will see this and realize this is the next front in terrorism right here. This has far further-reaching impacts than hijacking or sabotaging air travel ever could. I don't know what the number of vehicles passing this way per day is but I-85 is one of the largest arteries in the city and it will be months before this is fixed.

No security passage required. No explosives. Just a vehicle fire under an overpass was all that it took to cause huge systems disruptions. It will be interesting to see the reaction to this.

This sort of stuff has been going on for years, but recently it got vamped up to a whole new level.

So, youtube has hundreds of hours of content uploaded every minute, making rapid monitoring quite difficult, and a short time ago their algorithms would keep certain material from trending or showing up on a recommendation page if it wasn't politically correct or main stream friendly. However, for the most part they wouldn't demonetize videos unless there was a DMCA claim or it was outright hate speech. These half hearted attempts to encourage users to watch certain material had minimal effect, and the MSM has been losing viewers to the medium for years. They've tried to branch out onto youtube, but with little success. Check out CNN's channel, or Fox News and you can see they perform terribly, with most videos getting less than 5,000 views, and a good portion only getting a few hundred.

Lately, they've been pumping out stories nonstop about companies' ads appearing on hateful material - as in videos that actually were neo nazi and ISIS stuff.

As a result of the coverage a number of advertisers have pulled out. As soon as some began pulling out the mainstream media upped their coverage, and more pulled out, and so on. [What they failed to mention is that the monetized hate videos tend to have very few views, and are generally taken down in short order, but the idea was clearly to craft a narrative that youtube has become a hate promotion platform, which is why there's been constant reporting about the youtube 'alt right' and 'white nationalism' and 'terrorism on youtube' even though it's quickly deleted and gets very little attention when it does show up. Really, the only meaningful attention it has received is from the MSM itself].

As a result content creators who have become successful enough to make a living on the platform, and have been in many cases outperforming MSM both in terms of total viewership and respectability among viewers are now getting destroyed.

Many of the big channels can survive off patreon, t-shirt sales, and things like that, but their revenue is plummeting and a lot of quality content might not be able to weather the storm.

These are the rules for being 'advertiser friendly' on youtube now.

So, basically anything worth a shit. You'll notice these rules don't apply to advertising on MSM whatsoever... or hollywood... or radio...

Even content creators like Jenna Marbles (very popular and very not offensive, and not particularly political imo) have had their revenue stream gutted.

I feel like I'm reliving the 90s and a bunch of stupid old people are grumbling about that devil music again.

But then again this is different, and having watched it play out I'm convinced a big part of the story is that it's a power play by the MSM trying to get their views back because they're so comparably terrible to emerging outlets.

Not very, but you're not going to make a living with 3,000 viewers unless they're all donating to your patreon.

Most of the shows the MSM is actually concerned about have hundreds of thousands to millions of subscribers. There's more equipment fees and editing work that goes into it than a lot of people realize, but the real issue is you need that patreon revenue to survive now if you want to make it your job and actually have the time to do it well.

My guess is a lot of the big channels will survive just fine, but it's hard to say what direction all this will end up going.
