One of my roommates went to that concert....haven't heard from him since. If the dude is from Mesquite, good chance he's one of those Bundy-type anti government jack asses.
Holy shit. Local news now is reporting 406 injured. From the footage it appears pretty certain the guy had a full auto rifle.
The rate of fire was so quick and evenly spaced, that no human finger could shoot like that. And yea, a 64 year old white guy didn’t just get radicalized by ISIS online. I wonder what people who knew him will be saying.
More interestingly, how did he get his hands on an automatic? They are nearly impossible to get. Those are banned at the federal level for guns made after 1986. Pre-1986 you need to jump through a mile of red tape with the federal government, find a class 3 dealer that will cooperate and pay a shit load of money to do it legally.
He could have modified an ar-15 to shoot automatic. They haven’t released the caliber yet though so no idea what he used. Those videos sounded like Baghdad.
I don't think he cared if modifying it was legal. I just don't get hate like this. I use "hate" all the time "I hate asparagus . . . I hate UGA . . . I hate that dude." I can't understand how you get to the point of hate where you just take innocent people's lives. I just want to say, I love you guys. (even the ones I hate.)
Most of the speculation is that it was some sort of ak with a bump fire stock. It was only a matter of time before some sicko used one in an attack like this.
Yup, and you can find the instructions with a simple google search sadly. Those videos sounded like 5.56, though 7.62 makes more sense given the range and the fatality vs. injury rate. I doubt he was shooting a 308 automatic. With 10 firearms though, I'm sure he had a variety of weapons.
"Eric Paddock, his brother, told The Daily Mail that there was "absolutely no indication he could do something like this. "He has no political affiliation, no religious affiliation, as far as we know," Eric Paddock said. "Our condolences go to the victims and all their families." The only thing I've heard is he was going through a divorce and he'd once sued a casino. A local reporter said police she talked to said he'd built two shooting platforms in the room, which had two angles on the venue, set up cameras in the motel hallway, and was armed to the teeth.
His brother also said that he retired to the Vegas area because he liked to gamble. I wonder if he blew threw every penny he had and just snapped?
Guns are expensive. You don't blow through everything you have and then ooops here's 10 guys laying around! Let's go target shooting!
Given his age, I'm willing to bet he owned an automatic rifle before the ban was even a twinkle in Congress' eye. What's the deal with the roommate? She was out of the country, but he somehow used her ID? Then who was the woman who allegedly threatened some with "death in 45 minutes"?
He also said that he doesn’t really have much of a relationship with him anymore either, so he probably has no real way of knowing much about him.
He'd have to be a lot older than reported for your statement to be true, the NFA was passed in the 30s which restricted the purchase of full auto. It was only in 86-87 that manufacturing of new full autos was banned fo civilians. Even so they are exceedingly rare and very expensive. Full auto long guns will run you 15k.
Haven't you heard? 64 year old white guys in Nevada are the prime recruitment targets for ISIS. They're coming for you next, ToyToy. Don't believe their propaganda and lies!
