Yeah... I’d be very very hard pressed to relate to any male, regardless of sexual preference, who would complain about seeing her nekkid.
That was a fucking hilarious bit he did in his show. Now we know it was funny because it was true. Still funny.
Just told my wife about the Louis CK stuff. She said the women "should have either helped him finish or left the room." I'm.... not sure I disagree with her on that.
It has to be a serious compulsion. I heard some brief descriptions before and it just sounded like he was fucking around backstage at clubs. It sounded like he was just being crass and lewd for the sake of it in a 'guys club' sort of way. The detailed accounts are on another level.
THe thing I find the funniest about this Louis CK thing is that half the people running their gums about him right now also have some sort of deviant sexual fetish that, if they got caught red handed with, would be put on the same boat he’s on right now. Regular folks AND famous. They have this, they know this, and don’t even think there isn’t a lot of hypocrisy going on right now. It won’t be long before accusers start getting accused because they’re all a bunch of sick rich fucks, and you would be too if given that chance.
Insanity. A new Gallup poll shows that 51% of Americans would rather see us pass new gun laws rather then enforce the laws we already do have. Let's pass a bunch of new laws and then not enforce them, that will fix everything. Absolutely brilliant.
Maybe most Americans think that the current laws are being enforced. You know because they are laws. Or maybe just maybe most Americans think that the current quagmire of conflicting state and federal gun laws need to be reexamined and rewritten with consistency and enforceability being the primary goal.
My pipe dream involves nation-wide mandatory background checks and fingerprinting for all sales or transfers of ownership, no private sales without a notary signature, and once you own a firearm you are required to renew your background check and fingerprinting on a bi-annual basis for as long as you own so much as one firearm. However, combine this with a nation-wide allowance of open carry provided you have your LTC, which you should be required to renew bi-annually as well including the classroom and range testing. Also no more “gun free zones.” So basically a high barrier to gun ownership and continued gun ownership, as well as allowing those who follow the law to be visibly armed in public if they so choose. Those murderous fuckers will think twice before they open fire if they know their potential victims can and will shoot back.
Every time I see someone strapped in public it makes me nervous as hell and I'm a gun person, so I can only imagine how it effects someone who isn't at all comfortable around guns. Not only that, I can't help but wonder how hard it would be to just walk up behind them, bash them in the head with a bat, and get a free gun. I just really don't like the idea of open carry in populated areas.
I'm betting that most Americans have no clue about current gun legislation, enforced or otherwise... they just default to "it ain't working, so new/more laws will help".
If they own guns they know what the laws are where they live. What you can buy, ages, how you have to store it, etc are all over the place state to state. That's why a 9 year old child can fire an Uzi in Arizona, while you can get fined up to $5,000 and serve prison time for improperly storing a shotgun in Massachusetts. While the 9 year old girl firing an Uzi in Arizona was not illegal at the time, Louisiana did introduce a bill that would prohibit children under the age of 12 from firing uzis. Safety first. When it comes to gangs and criminals the state laws are irrelevant because they always bring the weapons in from another state, and there's more than enough firepower to suit to their purposes. The black market is mostly about acquiring guns that can't be traced.
Um, I absolutely would sexually harrassing terrified women if I "had the chance". Nobody gives a fuck that Louie likes to have sad jerk offs. Hell, his whole stand up is about sadly jerking off. Equating what he's doing with a fetish or kink is missing the entire point. Would I be embarrassed if some of the stuff I've done was front page news? Absolutely. Does that make it sexual assault? No, because there's a big fucking difference. Even setting aside the times he physically blocked the door, if neither you nor your wife can understand how it can be difficult to know what to do when one of the most powerful people in an extremely competitive industry does something aggressive and weird at you, I don't know what to tell you.
I don't like it either, and in environments where people have the option of open or concealed I question the motives of someone who chooses to open carry instead of conceal carry. I also think it's a prisoner's dilemma situation anyway. Concealed is fine; no reason to go open.
Every time I have asked someone why they want to open carry the answer is always "for self protection" while every other word that comes out of their mouth says "because it makes me feel like a badass." I'm struggling to think of an exception to this. If it was for self protection, wouldn't it be better to conceal carry anyway? If you're notifying everyone there that you have a gun on you, who do you think the maniac is going to shoot first?
I can see stronger background checks at time of sale being important - to include fingerprinting but I can't get behind what amounts to registration/finger printing every two years. I don't see the value in that. I also don't think nation-wide open carry is the way to go, I would prefer to see nationwide concealed carry for the reasons stated above.
I think they see it as marked vehicle vs unmarked vehicle. Eeeeeeverybody slams on their brakes when they spot a cruiser, otherwise they'll speed all over until the unmarked pulls them over. So they see themselves as the great deterrent, no bad guy would dare while they're around.
No shit. I feel like I'm in a bizzaro-world. A deviant fetish is equivalent to sexual assault? It's okay to jerk off at other people because they have the option to "help you finish or leave"? What the fuck?
In the NYTimes article, it said that Louis reached out to the women years ago and apologized for his behavior. If he ended this sort of disturbing behavior, then it really shouldn't affect his career.
It will be interesting to see how this shakes out for Spacey and Louie. In the middle of the wave now the reactionary nature of their industry they'll lose gigs (or be retroactively replaced in film). Im curious to see what their careers are like 4-5 years from now, both probably have enough fuck you money to disappear entirely but will the mob justice keep up in perpetuity if they want to continue? Paula Deen was out some big sponsors but for all intents and purposes moved on with her career post racial epithet flap.
