Wow. The guy who was acquitted of being culpable in the death of Kate Steinle? Yeah, he and his lawyers are not real happy with the verdict. They're appealing him being convicted of felon in possession of a firearm. They're saying he didn't hold it long enough. What a load of bullshit.
The New York A.G. is suing over this and is encouraging other states to sue them as well. Perhaps drag this out enough time to vote out these clods.
This is basically legislating revenue for those companies already in place. It will fuck over the consumer, and will pave the way to stifle innovation by up and coming new companies. Someone comes in to compete against Amazon? They can buy network blocks to inhibit access to their competitors. Verizon has a streaming service that they are pushing on their networks? Charge for access to their competitors, like Netflix, to sway people to pick them instead. The US has no network platform for competition. There are huge monopolies in place, and this legislation allows them to profit from those monopolies. You’re going to get fucked.

Now Dustin Hoffman is getting the sexual misconduct allegation treatment. While none of this surprises me, and of course I support the right for women to speak out on it, I just wonder when the tides will turn and someone says “really? Let’s settle this in court” and the judicial system figures out the difference between rumor and fact. It’s scary that people are now taking allegations as fact. That’s just not how it works. Even if said allegations make sense to the public, you need to prove them, otherwise it’s defamation and the person making the allegations should face consequences themselves. Am I off base here?
Ive kind of wondered how this type movement will shake out. Ive always figured there would be sort of correction or reaction, by the accused and the people who represent them legally, to the all or nothing nature of this situation. For instance the catch-all clauses in contracts that let employers terminate employees for actions/behavior that might be detrimental to the company/brand. At some point, at least for positions that are dependant on elite performance ability (say sports or high-level CEOS), will eventually start demanding clearer cut guidelines of specific behavior and due process or else they won't work for said company or team.
I know she made a video about pizzagate, but I’m not sure if she actually supported its idiocy. I have no idea why they aren’t sicking the justice department on the FCC right now as we speak. They look corrupt, right there on the surface without even hiding it. Don’t just sue them, investigate them.
We still have quite a way to go before the tides turn or we start seeing more specific guidelines. Women have been mistreated in the workplace and society in general throughout our entire existence. While it's true that there have been many instances of false allegations of harassment and assault by women, those are often identifiable by the benefit the accuser stands to gain. In most of the recent events, the women are gaining nothing except the release of the burden they've carried for years. For now, we as a society need to stop focusing so much on whether specific allegations can be proven in court and instead concentrate our efforts on educating men on what is acceptable behavior.
I'm not sure it's just that - I think most of the men accused recently and guilty over time absolutely know what is acceptable behavior. It's just they think their power entitles them to get away with it.
The problem with that is most men like me don’t need training on how to treat a woman, and if you tell us that we do we’re just going to tell you to go fuck yourself. The men who do need to be “trained” generally don’t care how they treat women or if it is considered bad, and will probably also tell you to go fuck yourself.
Let me preface this by saying that I am not attacking you or criticizing you at all. But... I think the number of males who mistreat women is higher than you credit. I’ve seen too many males attempt to coerce females (“cmon baby just a kiss...”), heard too many “nice guy” excuses (“I can’t believe she chose that dick after everything I do and have done for her!!”), and experienced the aggression of a man rejected too many times - across a fairly wide demographic range - (“fuck you you fat cunt you’re ugly anyway!”) to think that the men perpetuating this behavior are in the minority. That’s why females are counseled to constantly protect themselves. From every man. All the time. It’s why we are encouraged to go out in groups. It’s why we are told to hold our keys a certain way, not to drink from beverages we didn’t watch being made, why we alert our friends “going home now I’ll text you when I get there”, why we keep our phones unlocked on the way to our car, why we have reservations entering elevators with strange men, why there are self defense products created for capturing DNA, why we screen gyms for safety features and and and and and and and and.... Go to Instagram and check the #byefelipe hashtag. Look at the shit males pull on females online. Unsolicited dick pics, and then name calling and personal attacks for rejection. That’s just one example. I’m not saying ALL males are like what I’ve described but I am saying that I don’t see these people as much a minority as you’re indicating.
I don't dispute anything you posted - and I can't speak for Crown. But, I wrote something similar, and what I meant was not that the percentage of men who behave that way is small. Rather, I meant that the percentage of men who don't know behaving that way is wrong is small.
"I'm sorry it cost her her job" Our advanced facial analysis of your giant smirk indicates... that this is a lie.
Guess who is now accused of allowing sexual harassment and covering for sexual assault? The founder of the Women's March.
