When I was contracting for EA, we had the same issues. You could not fire anyone, but you could promote them off your team. As a result there are a shit-ton of really stupid people in rather senior positions at EA.
The only upside I have is that these assholes don’t get promoted. Believe me, that’s a small victory, this particular mechanic had a standing bet for how long he could go with out opening his tool box, his “record” is two weeks.
The co-founder of Hamas dies after accidentally shooting himself in the head while inspecting his weapon. https://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2018/01/30/world/middleeast/ap-ml-palestinians-gaza.html Is it just me, or does that sound like a fake headline that scrolls across a fake TV news program during an episode of 24 as Jack Bauer walks by and exchanges a knowing wink with the President?
I wonder if he will be considered a martyr if he died from being a retard. I wish the rest of them would also inspect some loaded weapons.
They just found the remains of SIX MORE PEOPLE on a single property serial killer Bruce McArthur did landscaping on. This is going to be crazy-ugly by the time the dust settles, who knows how many he’s killed. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-42996697
Isn't it fucked up that another mass shooting occurs in a school and we don't even bother to discuss it anymore because we've already recently discussed pretty much everything there is to discuss about mass shootings?
Since in this case the shooter was obviously previously identified as a problem, and since talking about banning guns never gets anywhere, maybe real conversations about security at the schools could be had? That's the only realistic thing that can change. I mean, we added air marshals to ever flight, and searches / scans at sporting events, so maybe that opens up opportunity for change?
In all seriousness, I firmly believe that law enforcement agencies should hire teenage girls specifically to comb through the social media accounts of people brought to the attention of such agencies. Apparently, the FBI gave up after looking at just one YouTube comment where the shooter mentioned carrying out a shooting. Which is fair enough, it was just one comment. But, you know, how hard would it really have been to spend a half hour-hour trying to dig up a bit more on the guy. Try and tell me a teenage girl wouldn't have exhaustively dug through every conceivable form of social media that guy had and dropped it in their laps in a ridiculously short time frame.
And what minimal forward progress that is made is being reversed: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-43088644
I read that the police had visited him some 36 times in the past for various offenses. How on earth did this guy slip through the cracks? This guy, according to all the tv interviews with classmates, seems to have been no surprise at all that he conducted a shooting like this. They’re all like “yea, this totally fits the bill”.
A new thought occurred to me. Since so many media figures demand curbing the 2nd amendment in various capacities we curb the media’s reporting of mass shootings? Ban the endless 24 hour coverage of a mass shooter, no name or pictures of the killer after a 2 day period. A narrow focused law on just this topic not a blanket ban. Curb the glorifying effects it has on people that might commit this specific crime. You still get to have your media but you’re magazine capacity is just limited to 10 rounds of reporting the killers details.
Reddit is such a cringey place sometimes. I’ve relegated myself to very tiny subs with a specific purpose rather than anything larger. Even then, the users are the biggest babies in the world. One Trump-centric sub is making people flip out when they could simply create an account and ignore it forever. I thought the entire point is only see content from communities you’re interested in. If that or any political sub (T_D, /r/Politics, etc.) is propaganda, why would anyone voluntarily subject themselves to it and then scream when it upsets them?
Because a person's right to be offended and tell everyone about how much they are a victim because of it has trumped all else in this world. More people need to be told to STFU, and be ignored. Welcome to the "LISTEN TO ME AND DON'T HURT MY FEELINGS" demographic.
Only in this time do you get something for free, unforced, and still bitch about it. Back in the day if a radio station started playing “Mississippi Queen” more than three times a day you simply stopped listening.
You know how everyone once in a while a new face pops up, and you immedietly hate them so much you do nothing but wish bad things on them? Sometimes that works. It happened to Zimmerman, it happened to Lochte and now it happened to this smug, attention-starved bitch: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/03/09/pharma-bro-martin-shkreli-sentenced-to-7-years-in-prison.html
