I think that's true in cases like the McDonald's coffee burn scandal, but most of the time it's just people wanting the easy payday. Paying someone a bunch of cash because the incident made them sad or what the fuck is such a silly way to address the problem. If the solution is to up corporate fines then do that instead. If some wrongful action incurred medical costs/lost time at work, etc, then by all means pay them, but that's a different issue.
These people are bottom of the barrel retards. Treat people like dogshit because they can. Yell at you for having one foot past the little gate thingy while waiting for them to check boarding passes. "SIR! STAY BEHIND THE GATE PLEASE!" as if its about to become an international incident. They are the mall cops of the airport.
For me the problem with the whole TSA fuck-up is that it was never about security. If it had been about security, the scanners used would be a different technology that can detect items in body cavaties. There were two competing companies to provide the scanners, the company who got the contract was a friend of Bush, not the one that provided effective screening. Everything done after that is nothing more than kabuki theater and a jobs program. This article and dozens of others like it prove this further: https://www.usnews.com/news/nationa.../tsa-fails-most-tests-in-undercover-operation So, it should be transparent to everyone at this point that TSA has no business being in existence let alone being exempt from the pursuit of legal redress by aggrieved citizens. I seem to recall a certain document written a while back where this was a real sticking point with a certain group of people and it lead to severe and drastic change.
So now Elon is committing to installing water filters in any house in Flint that has water contamination over the FDA levels. https://arstechnica.com/science/2018/07/elon-musk-says-he-will-fund-fixing-flints-foul-water/ That fucker.
Just another control freak who doubt wants to install spy equipment in every house so he can Stepford them all into his command with some sort of hypno-frequency device that activates when you turn the faucet on. It’s nice that there’s billionaires willing to help those who basically got fucked by life. Steve Wynn is probably sitting in his gold living room right now, bitching about taxes while putting his fist through a Picasso.
I gotta say, having grown up 25 minutes away from Flint and spending the first 20 odd years of my life there, Flint has completely fucked it’s residents. The state hasn’t helped any so it’s nice to see someone doing something for these people. If you’d like a laugh check housing prices within city limits.
A horrible idea is now in production and shipping. I want to know what the thought process was behind this product, was the guy watching a protest where a cop shot someone holding a phone and thought to himself "I've got a brilliant idea!" Ideal Conceal folding ‘cell phone pistol’ is now shipping
There are people out there who watch something horrible happen, then get absolutely horny about how they can make money off of it. Scary. And profiteers are NEVER going away.
I don’t think it has to be one or the other. Are there frivolous lawsuits? Sure. But if we are going to be a capitalist society then the only way to get something to change is to have the risk outweigh the reward for the company/agency. Obviously with government agencies it gets a little screwy since it’s taxpayers footing the bill, but maybe then they’ll push for more oversight/better hiring and training practices etc.. Corporate fines for these things get into other issues because then you’ll have Fox or CNN screaming that it’s all politically motivated depending on who is issuing or receiving fines and does anyone really want to give them more stuff to go on about all day? And not saying you’re right or wrong but when you say “most of the time it’s just people wanting an easy payday” I’m guessing that’s your perception without having data behind it.
The Papa John's story blows my mind. So first the founder blames declining sales on the NFL protest. Alt Righters cheer Papa John's on. Retards then freak out about how Papa John's is nazi pizza. Flash forward about a year. Forbes publishes this. Within 48 hours: - He steps down from Papa John's. - He steps down from the Louisville board. - The mlb cuts all ties with Papa John's. - His name is taken off his home town high school gymnasium. - Louisville removes Papa John's from their stadium. - Jefferson gives back an $800k donation at the cost of a desperately needed renovation. - This is my favorite. The marketing company cuts their contract with Papa John's and fires 10% of their staff as a result due to the reduced workload. That's fucking awesome. That's what I saw initially. I'm sure there's more. I mean, what he said is kind of stupid, but how can you be that upset over it? How? Honestly, that's all these SJW types do. It's never anything positive. They just ruin someone's life over some stupid bullshit and then move on to their next piece of meat. At this point the media should just wave a stick around and be like "Look at the stick, stupid. Aren't you angry at that stick? Go be outraged at the stick." Why is society consistently caving to a mob of rabid retards? I really don't get it. I love too how they're absolutely awful people always trying to present themselves as a moral authority. Really reminds me of religion that way.
People have been wanting the lower the boom on him for quite some time, there ain’t no catalyst like a good, clean old wholesome N-bomb. I’m torn here. Because this is an overreaction, it was a fucking word. That being said.....I can’t help but think in the back of my giggling mind “burn baby burn”. I’ve been very vocal in the past about how much that greedy, rich fuck annoyed me. He in particular was so plastic and phoney when it came to the “I’m Just Like You” Billionaire. But he shouldn’t go down like this. He should have shown up in a gay sex tape or died in a helicopter crash, but not this. What he said wasn’t even offensive, it was more like he was quoting. It’s just everything else he does that’s idiotic.
Maybe he's a douche, but it just shows how fubared people's priorities are. You can be a raging asshole, but cross some silly arbitrary line and THEN everyone loses their shit. The whole "We have to stop the nazi pizzas" thing is incredible. How stupid can these people get?
There’s an easy way to stop a food company: don’t eat it. Local chains are always better in the pizza world, you can protest AND not bother anybody with your fucking mouth if just simply don’t eat it.
Wasn't he actually quoting someone else who said it though? I mean, yeah, it's not a smart move on his part. But it's not the end of the world. I do agree with you in being disappointed by the way he was brought down though. I get sense people have been wanting to get rid of him for a while, and this was just the excuse they used to do it. I'm sure if they did even some light Peter Theil-style digging they could have founds all skeletons in his closet. But whatever, let's go with "OMG HE SAID THE N WORD!!!!"
All these people who say they get offended by that fucking word I guess never sang along with 90’s hip-hop. Fuck off. Reminds me of a funny side story: my friend Aaron played a fat, racist small town deputy in a movie called “Deacons For Defense” directed by Bill Duke. He tells me “Dude, I’ve never even said that word out loud in my life, and in my first scene I scream it in Forrest Whittaker’s face!!! Then I forgot....oh yeah, black guys wrote this.”
I tend to think that the dude's just a racist, and nobody wants to work with him and his company because of it. It's not because of one n-bomb... because someone doesn't just happen to accidentally drop an n-bomb... that just doesn't happen. It shows a pattern of behaviour where it is second nature to the point that he was comfortable enough to do that in a meeting... a meeting, I believe, that was a trial PR event to see how well his anti-racist training went (that he did took to try and prevent further PR problems). https://www.cnbc.com/video/2018/07/11/papa-johns-founder-used-racial-slur.html And I'm fine with the reaction, because racism isn't something that should be tolerated. It's not SJW over-reaction, it's rational people saying, "meh, you're a piece of shit and we don't want anything to do with it." In the same way you say, "just don't eat his pizza", these corporations are also choosing not to do business with him as a result. Same reaction, bigger scale further up the ladder.
Since no one knows how to use google. The Papa was in a training session where they were teaching him to be more sensitive. He asked why Colenol Sanders (of KFC) never got in trouble for calling black people the n-word. Why do you all dance around the word of it’s just a word? Racism should not be tolerated. I fail to see the issue. Say stupid things. Win stupid prizes.
You don't even have to use Google... I linked the actual story. But yeah, I agree with you... it seems to me that everyone is just knee-jerk hating some SJW-inspired scenario that they though happened rather than really understanding what went down.
Understanding what? You just said he probably says racist things all the time, basing it on a feeling.
