Jesus. I guess I’d be traumatized too if I had to buttfuck someone that looks like Kelly McGillis in full lesbian mode.
I was thinking that. Looks like a softball coach that wanted to get back on that pogo stick. Not exactly Deborah Lafave-level in terms of female perverts, they’re usually a lot hotter that that. Maybe he was an A/V club kid.
A cop was found guilty if murder, while on duty, of killing a black kid in Texas. No “criminal homicide”, no voluntary manslaughter. First degree murder. Even for a jury, this was a no-doubter for them. About time the tide started turning: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2018...r-killing-jordan-edwards-180828194523334.html
Give me a break: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/08/29/us/politics/desantis-monkey-up-gillum.html You know, maybe the prblem in this country is that everyone is so busy looking for something to be outraged by, they're not listening to each other.
No I don't think it was racist at all. It's a widely used way of speaking that has nothing to do with race. Until someone comes along to make it so. To say I'm "angry" would be overstated though. I'm tired of people looking for ways to take something out of context and blowing it out of proportion. Hardly surprised though, ridiculous as our society has become.
Is it possible the phrase has racist roots to it kind of like when someone gets “gypped”? It’s just part of normal speech culture and people forget when they say shit. My grandma used to refer to her live in nurse as “colored”. I don’t think she hated her though. The Florida state song has the word darkies in it too.
I mean he did work for a guy who asked a black commentator if he was "out of his cotton-picking mind". Sure, they're just southern boys who don't know no better.
Just for the sake of argument, I looked around online. Nothing I found out of 5-6 websites mentioned any racist origins for it: This idiom likely comes from the literal imagery of monkeys playing around. Unlike human games, which often have a goal (like in sports), monkeys’ games seem aimless. Therefore, someone monkeying around could be playing around without a specific purpose other than to mock, annoy, or goof off. Likewise, if a monkey were trying to fix something, it wouldn’t have a clear idea of how to do so. Therefore, the tinkering definition of the idiom shows someone trying to repair something without knowing exactly how to do it. Edit: I just re-read the quote and realized I got the phrase wrong. I'll have to look around some more.
I was merely floating the idea. Not a full throated endorsement that it’s racist. I just don’t put it beyond mainstream GOP to be breathtakingly racist considering all the other shit they say and do. It’s possible DeSantis just said it because it’s a common enough phrase in the south and didn’t have racist connotations behind it, but looking at other aspects of who he is makes it hard to give him the benefit of the doubt. https://www.rawstory.com/2018/08/re...roup-promotes-racism-deep-state-conspiracies/
Jesus H. Christ, I remember defending that cartoon in my Mexican-American History class in college. The reason for that cartoon was because just days earlier, a chimpanzee got loose and bit the face off of its owner, and had to be shot. Unlike Harambe, he deserved it.
Right, it was parodying that incident, but it also implies the monkey was Obama, the first black president. I mean people at The New York post could be that fucking stupid they didn't make the connection.
Yup. They just said he was from Kenya and the like. (Plus they also did a ton of monkey cartoons, which I assume was your point.)
Judge rules against Alex Jones in Sandy Hook lawsuit. There’s a lot to unpack in that, but essentially a judge ruled against Jones in a case alleging he defamed victims of Sandy Hook when he accused them of being government plants, actors, etc. Alex Jones is fucked with a capital F. The judge ruled that the plaintiff could sue Jones’s business. Pathing the way for gutting him for all he’s worth.
