We must have never had a functioning state Department then as beyond them not having nukes yet our diplomacy has yielded nothing on state sponsored terror and propaganda spreading.
Truthfully, I think our State Department hasn't functioned as well as it did during the Bush Administration. Our diplomat corps has focused on non-proliferation for 50 years, scoring some major wins on that front. To my knowledge, it has never been asked to prevent spreading propaganda and has only recently been asked to contribute in the fight against state-sponsored terror (I'd say within the last 12 years or so). The agencies responsible for those missions vary in that part of the world, but I think it's easy to agree we'd rather diplomats do the negotiating than folks at NSA or DOD. Key point here is: we are not doing a good job of dissuading these countries from seeking nuclear weapons, and the first thing Iran did as a response was to pick up their nuclear program. Funny how the only thing wrong with the agreement that shuttered their program was it had Obama's signature on it. Anyone else amazed at Bloomberg's balls: running another NY billionaire after Trump seems like asking a bunch of cancer survivors if they want their chemo drugs dessert-flavored next time.
To be fair, when has any of this actually stopped? Hezbollah exists solely to promote state-sponsored terrorism and anti-West propaganda. The nuke program was maybe halted, but that’s never been confirmed, only heavily assumed, by the IAEA.
Any asshole can be the mayor of a city. Just google “Canadian mayors” I guarantee you the majority results won’t be positive.
I remember that the weekend after 9/11 happened, they cancelled a Tejano music festival down here; not in honor of the Innocents who died, BUT BECAUSE THEY WERE AFRAID IT WOULD BE ATTACKED BY TERRORISTS. Seriously, get the fuck over yourselves. If terrorists actually DID attack a Tejano festival, I would praise Allah.
NYC isn't just a city though. You're responsible for more people than most governors. Also the NYPD apparently rates as a legitimate army due to its numbers and firepower.
Giuliani was mayor. He’s a giant asshole. His chief of police was the most super-corrupt since people rode animals in that city to travel.
Anybody catch 60 Minutes from last night? I think the interview with Dr. Baden about Epstein was very interesting. Partly about how he's never seen a hanging that broke the bones that did. But I thought was more interesting that the guard said he cut JE down but both noose ends were folded over and sewn and not cut.
Yeah, out of all of the crazy conspiracy theories that people float around, Epstein being whacked by someone rich and powerful is not one of them. It's almost a certainty in my book. More than plausible and probable. Way more. I would be very surprised if it turned out it wasn't a hit. Hell, I'd consider that finding to be a cover up to his murder.
That and all the “coincidences” surrounding it. Evidence missing, camera stopped working, the tapes weren’t recording, guards happened to be taking a piss, etc. At the end of the day, he got offed because he knew some shit.
It was very informative in telling me things I already knew. It’s too bad all parties involved in his murder can’t accept them.
I mean I’ve seen them here in Ohio he blanketed a football game, the only live thing I watch anymore with commercials, with an ad that specifically cited his taking on the NRA as proof he could stand up to Trump. Dude has zero energy behind him, is exactly the wrong demographic for the current democratic base, and policy positions that will get him nowhere. I just don’t see him picking up steam.
Democrats know him as Mr. Stop-And-Frisk. He’ll be as popular as a Reggae band opening for a NASCAR race. As he should be.
Iran hits US base in Iraq with at least 10 rockets Something tells me trump doesn't have the restraint to not escalate this further Good video from back in July:
So what's the end game at this point? Keep escalating military strikes until trump just asks for the football (if he hasn't already)? At this point I don't see either side backing down.
