Pallets of bricks is a particularly brilliant one. How hard is it to find something to throw? "Oh shit! Oh shit! The new world order is delivering rocks."

So are you saying that it was actually BLM protestors that caused most/all of the looting, destruction and burning?

One of the guys that has "The power to do it" also came out and pledged his full support for ANTIFA. You know...the ass hats that high jacked the protests and turned them into a fiery free for all. I'm not quite sure he knows his ass from a hole in the ground.

In other news, every business in a square mile of my house emptied out about noon today and boarded up their windows. There's a heavy police presence all around. Something about a protest tonight....

Wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary tonight by going to dinner. Was gonna be a big trip up the east coast, but then COVID happened, and then protests happened, and then we decided just to put it on hold indefinitely.

So the place we went to, a few days ago there was a bunch of protesting that turned into rioting right in front of the fucking restaurant. Fortunately it didn’t happen tonight, there at least. I’ve never seen so many cops in such a small area. Many of them on horseback. Heard those don’t do much good.

Protests were about a mile from us tonight, and there were a handful of helicopters circling overhead, both police and news. From what I read it was all peaceful and the protesters contained it to outside the courthouse. The area where we were looked like some post-apocalyptic zone though. Everyone looking at everyone else all sketchy. And a bunch of high school and college grads in random places getting their portraits taken. I felt horrible for them.

No I'm saying that the rumors that circulated on Facebook that "antifa" was going to show up in places like Forks, Washington or Coeur d'Alene, Idaho were bullshit.

How about the major cities where all the damage actually occurred? Was that all bullshit, or was it ANTIFA?

And as someone that grew up outside of Coeur d'Alene, that place has been ground zero for every nut case movement known to man. It wouldn't surprise me at all if ANTIFA thought it would be a great idea to start shit there.

FBI says that is not the case. The damage was done by a combination of locals who were legitimately angry about the situation, folk who just wanna fuck shit up, and opportunists who wanted to steal.

If you are opposed to ANTIFA you are pro fascism.

ANTIFA is a philosophy it has no memberships, directors or leaders. Just a bunch of people who had grandparents who fought in WW2 and who watched the Blues Brothers as kids.

And hit people with bike locks, attack random civilians without provocation, destroy small businesses and plenty of other terroristic things. Good thing we have them fighting fascism for us. If the police are going to kill anyone, it should be anyone that participates in Antifa rallies. At least give them something to actually complain about.

It wouldn't be a post about antifa without the obligatory mention of the one bike lock incident. Unless you like to get in street fights in Portland, antifa might as well not exist to you.

We have Cambridge and Somerville, MA here. There’s no shortage of Antifa protests. And to be clear, I feel the same about as I feel about the opposite stock example, the Charlottesville Nazis.

This seems like a false equivalency to me. The moral philosophy of the hard right and Antifa aren't even close in terms of which is worse for society. Unless, of course, one believes in a white master race. I don't have a laundry list of crimes that Antifa may have done, but whatever they are can't be compared to, say for example, Dylann Roof shooting up a black church.

Let me put it this way. Antifa wouldn't exist if the hard right wasn't responsible for the large majority of domestic terrorism in the United States. Having equal hatred for Antifa is like having an equal hatred between cancer and chemotherapy. Sure chemo has its drawbacks, but it also fights CANCER.

It takes about 30 seconds of digging of any of these facebook pages and the main players to find out a lot of it is the revolutionary communist types who dedicate their time to this shit. We'll have to agree to disagree that these people aren't also cancer given their history on the world stage and the terrorist bombing groups of the 60-70s here at home. Just because claim a righteous cause doesnt mean they aren't scum.

Their 'righteous cause' is such a stupid one anyway. Standing up to the nazis was really important... In 1942. Today all they're doing is getting white supremacists attention, and occasionally doing a little property destruction. The movement seems to exist so stupid kids/young adults can roleplay being a part of something important.

There are other poisons added to the mix this time around. There are people ALREADY angry about the pandemic. Out of work. At home not being able to do anything.... Everybody is wearing masks and it’s not a “disguise”. You talk about a perfect storm for opportunists.

Talk about false equivalency, and the fallacy in making pointless comparisons for any of it. You don’t get to excuse violence of one group because they fall on your side of the spectrum. I may buy that they are reactionary if they were only confronting Neo-Nazis and KKK members, and not attacking random civilians. The fact that many left-wingers will excuse that violence, if not blatantly defend it, is pretty fucking alarming. And saying that any of it is inexcusable is not a false equivalency. This should not be a controversial issue.

Yeah. I see nothing of value with ANTIFA. They show up and cause problems by being violent and antagonistic.

They seem to come to protests with the concept that it’s a safe space for them so that they have no repercussions from their physical actions.

And there’s nothing saying there has to be some magical good vs evil balance... both sides showing up can be bad.

You all realize the majority of the people who call themselves antifa while they smash the windows of corporate businesses, set fire to ATM machines, and swing bike locks are actually just anarchists that rebranded themselves as antifa.
