A weapon is something that is dangerous. I mean... you cannot have one without the other here. You can kill somebody with a newspaper/magazine if you roll & rub it tightly enough... also dangerous. Wouldn’t “Illegal modifier” be better? It still defines it without sounding stupid.
I'm only using the words their statute uses, don't shoot the messenger. edit: it also includes electric weapons & metallic knuckles. Edit again: I think the “dangerous” qualifier is because some things that aren’t dangerous by design/intent are used as weapons. Like shovels or baseball bats or candlesticks or rolling pins or whatever. But I could be wrong.
Canada joins the party. They just toppled John A. MacDonald's statue in Montreal after a "Defund the police" protest.
Hey, @Crown Royal or @Nettdata, are your cops shooting people that don't need to be shot? Or do you have another reason to want police defunded? I just haven't seen anything out of Canada on a news feed like we are dealing with down here.
Apparently there was some pro-Trump people that decided a trump parade through the city was a good idea. At the time I looked they haven't released any information on who, where or why someone died, just that a trump parade and a protest met and that the two may be connected to someone losing life.
at what point do we stop calling these protests and just calling them what they are: wanton violence and destruction? What's even the point of protesting at night? I've seen some creative stuff, like people making all kinds of noise with instruments and loud music outside the postmaster general's house. Not sure destroying your own community is a good way to get your point across and make people become sympathetic to you though. It's like when the NBA players were wanting to boycott games. Great idea, I support it, it'll draw attention to what they're supporting. But then they all got together and the Clipper's coach, Doc Rivers, reminded them that only about 20% of them were actually registered to vote, and that they should use their platforms to encourage others to make a positive difference, once they make sure their own houses are in order.
Yeah a Trump supporter was shot to death. Two days after 3 other people were shot by a militiaman. Good thing Kamala was on Colbert telling him that the rioting should continue. The disgusted look he makes should be a campaign ad.
I’ve been wondering this as well. It seems for a clear statement daytime would be ideal, so your numbers can be seen. I also don’t understand the destruction. Feels counterintuitive.
Ive been told riots give voice to the voiceless and are a necessary part of any meaningful social change.
I do find a certain irony in the fact that the shootings in both Kenosha and Portland resulted after the suburbs traveled to the cities, when there's been so much fear-mongering about the opposite.
Who was the shooter? Jesus Christ. I think ending.protests at dusk is reasonable. Isn't that somewhat accomplished by curfews?
There was a curfew in Kenosha, both the protesters and the militia-folk ignored it. I assume there's been a curfew in Portland as well.
