You couldn’t afford escargot, or weren’t the snails slimy enough?

What's everyone's prediction for when the next recession kicks in? I don't really know what the lag is. But, with gas headed to $4 / gallon by the Summer, and materials prices increasing so rapidly, it won't take much - like a small interest rate uptick - to bring all the development to a screeching halt.

... we are paying 1.279 per liter Canadian, so 4.84can/gallon so 3.89usd/gallon right now. And this was the price when it was at 120usd/barrel.

We are at £1.25 per L in the UK currently, so $3.40 per gallon.

That's up from the £1.14 we were at 8 months ago.

    What should lumber prices be?

    What about off-road diesel?

I haven't evaluated what lumber would cost in a purely sustainable farming/logging paradigm, so I don't know.

Probably similar. At least $6/gallon more than its current price.

It's the cost to remove the amount of CO2 that burning a gallon of gas releases, at today's prices for carbon capture.

But isn't carbon capture just "pie in the sky" bullshit?

I totally agree that we should start getting away from fossil fuels, but I don't think bending the American public over a barrel with inflated prices (and you know goddammed well that a lot of that money is going to go into pockets of politicians and CEOs', not being spent on "carbon capture") is the answer.

But then again, you're just a shut-in who hasn't been out of his apartment in over a year...

I'll bet you'd agree with another "Cash for Clunkers" program, which was really just a big handout to the auto industry.

Is there something about $6.00/gallon that didn't strike you as "sky high"?

That's pretty rich coming from a convict.

Sounds like there’s a need for some innovation in the world of carbon capture. If that can get down to, at most, $5.00 per equivalent gallon...

"Price things appropriately and let the market go to work on it" used to be the Republican argument. It's a much better argument than "science is fake, libtard."

I've noticed that a white person will get so mad when white people are generalized as racist, because to them, it's unfathomable that they be thought of as one big monolith of people.

Meanwhile, I get to worry about me and my family members being literally murdered because these same assholes group all Asian people together.

But enough about Americans being afraid of being murdered for the sin of looking like another race of people. Let's keep talking about how Dr. Seuss is cancelled.
