justice dept just announced they won't pursue charges against the officer who shot jacob blake. Based upon what we know, this was the correct call imo won't stop people from rioting and shit though
British officials have announced that they will NOT be prosecuting Prince Andrew for sexual assault, or investigating his ties to Jeffrey Epstein. I guess that means he must be innocent.
Yeah. Age of consent in the UK is 16. While it’s pretty fucked up, that doesn’t make it illegal under their law.
That’s because he’s royalty and he’s better than everyone else. You can see how superior their genes are: such a handsome and well-chiseled family, those Windsors. It’s humiliating that our country is still hopelessly lashed to this bullshit.
Figured this would be a better place than the WDT for this. A couple weeks ago we had a woman pushed down the stairs and no one did anything. We've had numerous people pushed into and in front of moving trains and no one lifted a finger. Now we have a woman raped on a train and no one did anything to intervene. "...Superintendent Timothy Bernhardt of the Upper Darby Police Department said the assault was captured on surveillance video and he was shocked after watching the footage that showed other riders on the train at the time who did not stop the attack or call police." I guess this is where we're at as a society now? A woman is attacked and raped by a stranger and people in the same small enclosed space can't even be assed to help or at the very least call 911? Sickening.
I guess the obvious take would be that we can’t get people to get a shot for each other or wear masks, so what makes you think they’d do something more than that?
It was disheartening and disappointing, the number of people who thought the security guard was absolutely right to lock the doors and watch the old lady be curb stomped. https://youtu.be/oyHxtxCBzcg
My first take was “…well, were either of them vaccinated?” Why risk carrying covid back to your loved ones just because you got involved in a weird subway rape? There’s only one victim in that situation, and rape isn’t an aerosol crime.
after watching that video, my first thought was if the sidewalk was considered hotel property and, if it wasn't, if they'd been trained to not get involved in anything off hotel grounds. Sadly, even if they were actual police officers, officers don't owe a specific duty of care to people, outside a special relationship like being that person's father or something. Morally? Absolutely need to intervene. I couldn't live with myself if I didn't, and fortunately my self-preservation instincts go out the window when shit like this happens (most recently exemplified by jumping into shallow water for someone else's kids). But most people are more logical than me, and a combination of everyone being lawsuit happy, and then the pandemic, has understandably made them reconsider helping out. Would I stand by and watch? For self-preservation purposes, I wish I would. But everyone reacts differently, and I know from history that I act before I think. I wish more people would help out, but also, like, I do get it. Good Samaritan laws and all that, you can still get fucked, and more people are learning that. Unfortunately.
Do any of y'all think there's any chance that he faked his own death? I don't know exactly how he'd pull it off in this case; maybe bribing the coroner/ medical examiner to say that someone else's remains were his?
Just imagine how much it would suck being his parents even BEFORE this all happened. “My early-20’s, middle-aged looking, banana-bread-eating loser of a son aspires to drive around in a van. My quest as a parent is complete.”
More likely that he cut his own arm off at the elbow, and then heated the bottom of a frying pan with a blowtorch to press cauterize his stump into while his parents beat on his severed arm with a rake in the mud near a swamp to make it look like a gator got him.
FBI id him via dental records so he must have pulled teeth out as well. In other crazy news Alec Baldwin killed a crew member on the set of a movie with a prop gun.
Orrrrr he killed himself and the few days he lay there dead, animals started eating him. There wasn't enough face left for regular ID. Or maybe Alec Baldwin shot him.
