One of the main reasons they went Federal with this is that the cops, city and provincial governments realized that they didn't have the authority to kick out the occupiers/protesters. They had some parts of what they needed, from a legal authority standpoint, but not everything. That is why they took so long to get shit happening, and it was only done with the Federal clout of the Enabling Act. Personally, I'm 100% all right with it, and am all for the local amendments that will allow the local authorities the power to act effectively if such a thing were to happen again.
It's about $4.75/gallon here, but it's always perfect biking weather so I only need like a tank a year.
Do Californians make small talk about the routes they bike to get around, or is that strictly for driving?
Why don't you get on the Ballona Creek bike path, take it to Marina Del Rey, head South on the strand to Hermosa, and getouttaherrrr
What's off-road diesel? never heard of it. Here in Canada, we have "purple gas", which is farm diesel that's died because it has no taxes on it and is meant to be used for farm use. It means it's way cheaper than the diesel you normally buy in the pumps, and if you are caught with it in your non-farm F-250 you're fucked.
Sounds similar. Diesel is what goes in your F-150 or Ram. Off-road diesel is what goes in yellow iron (bulldozers, excavators, etc. Construction equipment.) When the cost of off-road diesel goes up, the cost of development (i.e. major economic driver) goes up. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mcintoshenergy.com/difference-between-on-road-and-off-road-diesel/amp/
Off-road diesel (known as "farm diesel" in these parts) does not pay a road tax, so it's about $.50 cheaper. It's dyed red down here. Also, back when I drove a Powerstroke, I ran it on that stuff all the time.
Is there no provincial version of the National Guard? It seems like a glaring flaw in the Canadian constitution that this would need to occur. Also, I was only kidding about the Enabling Act part. It definitely shouldn’t be called that.
Yeah, the rest of us kind of laugh at them for doing so, but it was probably not a bad call. https://www.theweathernetwork.com/c...ther-history-january-14-1999-call-in-the-army
Higher energy prices, profits for companies that make "Russian-killin' sticks" that we can sell to Ukraine, and probably increased deficits so we can give Ukraine money to buy said sticks from us.
