    I wrote my Congresspersonx to ban all jokes that sound like they came from Yakov Smirnoff. Am I xenophobic?

    I think it’s only a matter of time before there’s a coup or an outright revolution in Russia. There was a run on the banks over the weekend. They’re cut off from international markets and they will run out of places to sell their oil and gas. The Russian war chest is dwindling quickly. A few days ago Putin threatened to seize all Russian citizen deposits to fund the war and pay his soldiers. Besides the fact that the ruble dropped 30% over the weekend and is now worth around $0.01 USD, that might push the Russian people over the edge if it actually happens (if it hasn’t already).

    Yeah, I’m guessing Ukraine may be willing to give up Donbas if they are allowed to join the EU. It’s basically an economically depressed, shit stretch of land, the inhabitants of which would rather be part of Russia anyway.

    I wonder how they would feel about that in Donbas. Right now, Ukrainian currency is more valuable than Russian. If Ukraine goes to the euro after this, and Donbas gets the ruble…
