I can see the EU application being a way for Ukraine to "give" something to Russia in exchange for fucking off and paying reparations. Because there is no way I see Ukraine swearing off on joining NATO as a negotiation tactic.
I love how the Ukrainians gunned down that Chechen general less than an hour after he posted his iamverybadass video.
It doesn’t matter if you’re talking tough on to your Tiktok followers or to the world… fuck around and find out. That dipshit painted the crosshairs on his own forehead. Good riddance to one more mass-killing homophobe and his cronies.
So if Russia ends up getting their ass kicked, do y'all think there's any chance Ukraine gets Crimea back?
Nope. Digging in and staging a defense against an invasion force is hard enough, but they definitely don’t have the ability mobilize, take and hold territory. I’m willing to bet that DEVGRU/CAG operators or similar and CIA SAC have been covertly on the ground in Ukraine for a couple weeks training the population in guerilla warfare and insurgency tactics. It might be part of the reason they have been effective so far.
so now that convoy is over 40 miles long, as reported by multiple news sources. Either it's so well defended that Ukraine can't do anything about it, or they want it there for... reasons
Rumor is they’re doing some early prep work for a big offensive. Set to start in the dark of the moon, on the 6th of June.
Apparently a boatload of Starlink dishes are now in the Ukraine, so they can have some internet connectivity without any fucking around by Russia. Starlink satellites begin falling out of the sky due to Bond Villain lasers in 3... 2... 1...
If we know where it is, and it's on Ukrainian land, what's to stop it from being hit with a missile strike? The Russians are INVADERS, right?
This exact question is summarized by this exchange: https://twitter.com/TVietor08/status/1498385829013573635 Tommy Vietor was Obama's National Security spokesman.
I don't think Dixie meant "we" would use our missiles, but that Ukraine could use theirs to stop the convoy
This convoy has been in the news all day. They have to know it’s en route. I wonder if they are waiting for it to be more in range or something.
I don't think they have the capability. A cruise missile with that range isn't exactly simple or cheap, and my guess is they would have been priority targets for the Russians to eliminate if the Ukrainians had any. You could take out the column from the air, but Ukraine lacks the air superiority to pull that off without putting their planes in serious jeopardy. NATO's F-35s/B2s are probably the only thing that could reasonably eliminate that column, and NATO has no intention of turning this hot.
