They could be waiting to get them with javelins or something? Those I think have 1-2 mile range. I don’t know anymore. I think they have a few drones too.
I’m wondering if we’ll see a whack of Turkish drones show up. Maybe they are waiting for the convoy to be fully within Ukraine?
Turkey has already used drones against the Russian tanks. https://www.businessinsider.com/ukr...-as-videos-show-destroyed-russia-tanks-2022-2
I’m thinking it may be more complicated than that. https://www.defensenews.com/global/europe/2022/02/04/turkey-and-ukraine-to-coproduce-tb2-drones/
It could also be as simple as “they’re all stuck on one road, let’s keep them there while we build up our defenses then destroy them in one go.”
Don’t be surprised if this convoy is Putin sending in thousands of troops to be cannon fodder just to see what happens. Russia has never been above doing that, they never will— history doesn’t lie.
Apparently Belarus has joined the invasion and has sent their own troops into Ukraine. https://www.politico.eu/article/belarus-russia-war-ukraine/
Reports of surrender as well. I guess openly misleading them into thinking it was an entirely different mission only to be greeted by death wasn’t there best play.
You see the Ukrainian driver stop and ask the Russians with a tank if they would like a tow back to Russia? I'm loving the Ukrainian spirit.
I wonder if that is a composite picture of one tank that was taken from the same place as it drove by.
So here’s a thought: If you’re a shop owner, how to you price your stuff? The same SKU that’s 1000 rubles today, might be “worth” 3X that tomorrow with devaluation. Hell it could change within hours! And if you run a liquor store or something with thousands of SKUs? No way you can change the prices of all the goods fast enough to keep up with the rate the currency is losing value. I’d either price them artificially high to account for expected devaluation, or just close shop for fear of losing money.
