The interesting part of any sale or acquisition is that the seller generally puts together a Data Room where the purchaser gets to go in and look at ALL the shit that is under the covers. I would not be surprised if Elon did this just to get access to that highly sensitive internal info, even if he is under NDA. Add some condition to the sale that is almost a sure thing to fall through, and you get a peek at how the sausage is made.
