I'm shocked -- SHOCKED -- that Elon Musk's suggestion of "give everything Russia wants, while using Russian-specific jargon like 'Khrushchev’s mistake'" wasn't organic.
Yeah. I've been following Ian Bremmer for a while. He's definitely a no-bullshit kind of person, so I would be shocked if any of it wasn't true.
Huh. Anyone think that all those Starlink internet units he gave the Ukrainians might be compromised?
Now that's an angle I hadn't considered. I don't know much about how their system actually works. @Nettdata might know, is this tech something that could be abused in this situation?
Starlink did get hacked, but they pretended it was okay and that it was part of a bug bounty program. Which isn’t how BB programs work, but you know, getting hacked is bad optics.
If it emanates electromagnetic energy you can track and triangulate it's position. Hacking is not required
So our favorite stuttering autist is now denying the use of Starlink in Crimea. https://www.businessinsider.com/elo...ar-fears-report-2022-10?utm_source=reddit.com Remember back in the before-times, when I said this guy was bad news, and everyone jumped down my throat about it? Good times, good times.
I get that this is a joke, but the big reserves of lithium are in the lithium triangle (Bolivia, Argentina, Chile), then the United States, Australia, and China. Coups in Latin America? Definitely lithium. War in Ukraine? Just being a shithead.
No need for them to be compromised... it sounds like he disabled them, and only in Crimera, apparently over concerns that Putin would fuck up his entire Starlink system, or use nukes. It should also be noted that Starlink doesn't normally work in Crimera, it had to be extended and expanded to work there. But it sounds like he's still allowing Starlink to work in Ukraine. I don't know, though... details are hard to find, and it's not like journalists know how to be proper journalists these days... it's all about the flashy click-baity headline, like "Elon sucks Putin's dick, sets up OnlyFans exclusively available on Starlink".
I was thinking more along the lines of Musk’s attempt at foreign policy. The breathtaking arrogance of Musk thinking he knows the first thing about dealing with someone like Putin. Maybe Putin promised him a sweet mining deal to help out Tesla or something if he could secure some kind of surrender from Ukraine.
He also has a global business to run... he has to follow the rules in each country. He had to go through the FAA process for the US, and Canada, etc, so the same could be said for Russia/Crimera. So tell me... is Crimera part of Russia, or Ukraine? Should he just ignore the government of that country? Or only when it suits the popular opinion of the world?
I edited my last post to adjust for tenses to make sure people knew I was talking about Elon Musk and not a board member.
Don't get me wrong... I think Elon is autistic and inserts himself into places he shouldn't, but in this case, I can see a little of column A, little of column B.... he would be best to just stay the fuck out of it, but that's not in his DNA.
It seriously has. Ukraine is lucky to have Zelensky. His entertainment background on top of charisma and character has made him a great leader.
