there was just an active shooter in Raleigh, NC. He was walking around a neighborhood with a shotgun, shooting random people. 5 dead at the time they took him into custody. I was watching a live feed tracking it that was monitoring the police scanner, and once they got the murderous fuck into custody an officer called the hospital to relay the suspect was en route with EMS "we have a 15 year old male, open head wound, brain matter exposed." So he tried and failed to off himself. Holy fuck.

I'm not sure the concept of a "public good" applies when voluntarily providing services to a foreign nation.
The thing is, the Ukrainians are actually paying for the service like other users. For Musk to casually take it away because of hurt feelings seems like something he shouldn’t be able to just do.
It always amazes me how people bitch about taxes but get on board with spending for pet projects. I don’t know the particulars of the issues that are on your ballot, but around here it’s common for people who bitch about teachers pay to be all in on installing a new turf field for $1M. Another great example- my hometown has outrageous taxes that the residents constantly bitch about but they spent 3 Million Dollars on a new field house for the football team. But it has a creative dance space, so that’s cool?
They don't like teachers, often don't have fond memories of teachers, but they sure do love supporting that football team. It'd be much better if that money was spent on services for the general population, but a sewer repair program is really hard to point to other than the annoyances caused by doing it.

Russia/ Putin KNOWS their logistics are shit (or maybe he doesn't! Yes-men, and all that.). Threat of nukes is all they have. I doubt most of them work anymore (if ever), but all it takes is one to fuck some shit up. I'm really curious about when Putin/ his regime fall, and what replaces it. Lots of people online (I'm looking at some of you TiB members) just want Ukraine to fold to Putin and end all the madness, but this is how Hitler started. It opens the door for other authoritarian governments (CHINA) to "annex" whatever they want. To those bootlickers, I ask this: If I broke into your house, and said it was mine, would you let me keep it? No? If you said no, what if I said I'll only keep a couple of rooms? No? What if I grab your wife/ kid(s), point a gun to their heads, and ask for a vote of whether or not I can keep the rooms, and they all vote yes? Do I still get to keep the rooms? Am I the bad guy, or are YOU the bad guy for calling the cops? There is no universe in which Russia/ Putin is innocent. Also, I think Russia/ USSR got off WAY too easy at the end of the Cold War.
