Not only has Elon banned the jet account, he's now on a banning spree of journalists commenting about the jet account. 12 pretty prominent journalists on Twitter as of now and more coming every hour.
Something broke this dude. Jesus... https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1603587970832793600?s=20&t=w_fWQ_OXjSnDykrbc95S0g
Bro, don't you see? They're posting assassination coordinates for any American with an operational SAM battery. He had to act to save his own life.
The leopard is now eating Bari Weiss's face, and god damn, twitter is suddenly fun again. "Rather than rigorously pursuing truth, you are virtue-signaling to show that you are “good” in the eyes of media elite to keep one foot in both worlds"
I think this is becoming resolute proof that a certain amount of money guarantees you are wombat-shit insane. Or Asperger's pre-disposes you to being a shit-lord.
Anyone else finding it a bit odd that Wall Street is laying off thousands as the investigation into the collapse of crypto begins? I'm sure it's nothing...Goldman Sachs just needs to maintain that scrooge-like reputation.
Twitter has now banned linking to any external profile on Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr and Post. Links to LinkTr.ee that include those sites are also banned. Gab is somewhere in a corner crying that they weren't considered one of the cool kids.
Is anyone else disappointed? I really wanted to see just how bad the train wreck would get; do y'all think he could fuck it up any worse from the sidelines?
No. It’s like listening to neighbours that you hate fighting each other: just kill each other already. You’re giving me a headache.
Fucking New York Democrats in the Senate and Assembly just pushed through legislation to approve a $32,000 raise for all the "hard work" they do. They're now the highest paid in the nation, at $142,000 a year. And they'll still be allowed to make an additional $35,000 a year from other sources "with some exceptions". "Senate Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins acknowledged that lawmakers voting to raise their own pay is politically unpopular. She said that’s why it’s only the second time in 24 years that the Legislature has received a raise. “I don’t expect anyone to like it,” Stewart-Cousins said. “I’m sorry that we are in the position that we have to do it.” While $142,000 is considered a comfortable salary in upstate New York, it does not go as far in downstate regions. New York City Council members make $148,500."
Can someone explain the California Middle Class Tax Refund* to me? In a time of record low unemployment, record jobs available and record inflation, the smart move is to give out more money? I get it for poor people, but couples making $499,999 a year will get some "relief" What am I missing? *The Middle Class Tax Refund (MCTR) is a one-time payment to provide relief to Californians https://www.ftb.ca.gov/about-ftb/newsroom/middle-class-tax-refund/index.html#receive
California passed Proposition 4 in 1979, which places limits on the amount of tax revenue the state can collect in a given year. If receipts exceed the amount determined by some complex formula I can't be bothered to look up, the government is required to remit the excess to voters within a two year period. This can take the form of lower tax rates, or as Newsom has opted for here, in rebates to taxpayers. California has run a sizable surplus recently, on the back of higher than expected incomes (and therefore tax revenues) and this is Prop 4 kicking in as a result.
