For those newly curious about Chinese high altitude balloons: High-Altitude Balloon-Based Sensor System Design and Implementation
If China says something or does something, whatever it is they are lying when they explain it. Their country— when it isn’t busy cooking our planet to death— is simply incapable of telling the truth. “It blew off course”…. Yes, over the entire Pacific fucking Ocean. It’s incredible how stupid they think everyone is. Stick to spying on your own like usual.
I'm not sure how well known this is, but the Japanese sent about 9300 incendiary balloons across the Pacific during WWII. The idea was the balloons would start forest fires in the PNW. About 300 were observed or found. Fu-Go balloon bomb
You jest but I know several people who stopped watching his show because they say he's too far right. I think he must have two different shows or something....
No, he has one show and they’re clueless. To add to that lovely horseshoe effect, I hear from people who say that Tim Poole is too far left. Retards. Maher was annoying when he used to pretend to be libertarian, as if those weirdos have anything to do with being liberal. Maher has always been a “classic liberal” who likes free speech, legalized drugs and thinks religion is garbage and corrupt. I’m with him there 100%.
I stopped watching a few years ago because the quality of his guests severely declined, and he kept redirecting the discussions to the same handful of pet issues his old boomer ass cares about that no one else does. I've got better things to watch on HBO than him and Bari Weiss whine about Millennials again.
I don’t see the attraction to any of the political talk shows, Maher, Tucker, Maddow etc. I have no interest in hearing the take of anyone on current events, and I can form my own opinions. And I do. I’m nothing if not opinionated.
So what do y'all think the odds are that once this thing gets over the Atlantic, THEN we shoot it down?
I got a nice chuckle from the last episode she was on. Two Ivy League grads with bullshit degrees bitching aboout millenials getting bullshit degrees. Hilarious........just not in the way they intended.
I'm gonna need to see a video of this. Wonder if they used missiles or guns? I'm sure they had ships in place to recover it as well, so the intelligence info will be interesting.
Video I saw looked like a missle. I wonder how the recovery went, or if it sank too quickly to get anything.
reports I’m reading is that it’s a 12 mile debris field but I know the water there is shallow. I’ve read specifically 47-50 feet and the recovery of debris is supposed to be “easy but no timetable.” also, UNO Reverse!
I really wonder what kind of tracking system any kind of a missile would have that would not only track a balloon, never mind know to detonate upon impact? I mean, there's nothing to a balloon... unlike an aircraft. I think, based on the shitty video I've seen so far, that an aircraft/drone of some sort engaged with guns, using visual targeting. Just a guess, but yeah, I really hope they release more about it soon. Also I find it interesting that the US has said that they've been blocking/interrupting anything from the balloon since well before it flew over the US... I'm curious how they managed that. But what I am not surprised at is that NORAD claims that they have been tracking this thing since launch. I fully believe that based on what little I've seen of NORAD's capabilities. They track Santa globally, after all... a balloon in China is nothing.... especially when it's the size of 3 school buses.
Given the altitude it was flying at, some people have theorized that it was China testing how fast F-22s get scrambled, which is maybe why there was a purposeful delay on interception. Plus, it makes sense to not blow it up over a populated area because God knows what kind of payload it could be carrying.
