I'm with you. I can get into the statistics and shit, but.... whatever. Healthy people die after marathons too, in a not-uncommon manner. Life is crazy. Shit happens. That being said, I will absolutely watch the livestreams when they're chasing the fucking perp to see if it's a shootout or not.

I'm not sure how much the Israel/Palestine crap will actually impact us on a national level, but on a local level, I live in a large military town, and we're already starting to get some refugees. Those who are wealthy enough to get out on their own have started to, and they either know people through the military and are staying with them, or just hear "San Antonio" (where A LOT of the soldiers, both US and foreign, train) and come here first. So I at least have to be aware of it in the general sense, and the sensitivities and cultural customs involved, because these refugees will be my neighbors and part of my community. I have to care, because I want to learn how to be a better part of the community and welcome them in. Today during my golf lessons, my golf pro said he was giving lessons to a group of Israelis yesterday. Like fresh off the plane, their children didn't speak a lick of English. Said he was stunned and asked them what they were doing, how they were holding up. "Bombs are dropping on our families so we wanted to get our mind off it and play golf.".... yeah, fair enough.

They've already released images. Looks like a bearded white dude in his 30s/40s. Because law enforcement doesn't release manifestos. They only become public if the perpetrator somehow publishes them in advance of the act.
