Yeah, I'm not sure many people in the liberal West are appreciating just how few shits Israel gives about their moral condemnation right now. They're on that post-9/11 high.

that's basically my understanding. That for them, this is their 9/11. It's an existential threat. Kill the baddies and sort shit out later. Real easy for us to armchair moralist this, but we're not in their position. That being said, I don't agree with the concept of a religious-based country, be it Islamic or Jewish or Christian or anything. Even though it's basically the way things have been run since forever.

They've been looking for a reason to wipe out Palestine for decades... Hamas has just given them a slim reason to go ahead with it. They are taking that opportunity and running with it, regardless of how shady that validation might be.

That's my uneducated thoughts on the situation.

oh I'm certain this is the thought process of the IDF and the Israeli govt. The citizens though, for them they view this as their 9/11 which explains the public support behind it. Sorry should have clarified a bit more

Not sure if you’ve seen the videos of what happened on October 7th. But it was real fucking bad. ISIS level shit. People are always crowing on about proportional responses but if that were the case, it would be an arguably worse response than what is happening right now. The far left in this country has no fucking clue what they are supporting right now.

If Israel wanted to truly wipe Palestine off the map, it would have already been done at this point.

I've seen a lot of them, unfortunately. The one that really got to me was some dude at the music festival hiding in what looked like a shipping container, apparently Hamas threw a few grenades in there. Must have been several dozen mangled bodies on the floor. I can't watch the videos with the kids in them though. Not after having kiddos of my own. I've heard what they entail, but I cannot watch them.

Same here. And tonight, in Gaza, Hamas is showing them on a Jumbotron for the town to see and cheer on.

It's sorta funny how Israel is tarnishing their reputation with their actions over there, but that same reputation is polished by the Palestine protests here. Not even because "they support Hamas" (which they don't) but because they're so loud and wrong about it. It's like Occupy, or BLM when they were blocking highways and not letting ambulances through.

The mentality behind these protests is puzzling. It's so absurd it almost feels like some kind of odd psyop. And the whole, "It's not about antisemitism, it's about anti-Zionism," is complete nonsense. Just like how southerners claim flying the Confederate flag isn't about slavery, but about "southern pride."

I’m normally pretty left leaning. And I feel like I’ve been on the correct side of most issues. I’ve changed somewhat as I’ve gotten older. But I feel like this is a movement where the left and far left have truly lost their way. They can’t split anti Zionism and anti semitism from each other, no matter how much mental gymnastics they want to play with themselves to try to convince themselves of their own righteousness.

Yeah, man. I'm fairly moderate; some views more right, others more left. But looking in both directions, I just don't know what the fuck is wrong with these people. I think corporate interests have basically paralyzed the entire system. Politicians don't want to make decisions in response to the landscape because they're afraid they'll piss off some segment of their support that will cause donations to dry up. If that happens, it directly jeopardizes their re-election chances. I would support RFK Jr., but he spouts off another batshit view every other week that is basically impossible to overlook.

That is what’s going on, and what never gets mentioned is that Israel has their global threat of Project Sampson that they hang over the worlds head.

“Sure, we’re not saying we HAVE nukes aimed at every country in the Middle East and Europe, snd we’ll launch them if you try to bomb us, but we’re saying we WON’T do that.”

Israel is a terrorist regime just like Hamas. No better, no worse, and just like Hamas they ARE the fucking Bad Guys, The fact so many nations blindly support those sociopathic, genocide cocksuckers blows my mind.

Here was the problem with 9/11: America didn’t kill the baddies, they didn’t sort shit out, they invaded the wrong country twice, they laughably couldn’t find the guy who actually did it for ten fucking years and all of those actions fucked up the world beyond repair— forever. And that war they started because of it? They lost. BADLY. America’s reaction to 9/11 was a gigantic retarded fuck-up in every single aspect possible right down to the post 9/11 patriotism that made it into a laughingstock.

You’re absolutely right— Americans definitely shouldn’t armchair a war, because they suck so bad at actually performing it. They’re the Oakland A’s of war, that’s what you get for recruiting the poor and stupid for so many years.

I find it weird that just because they gave it a badass name, we pretend like Israel's nuclear posture is any different than every other country with nuclear weapons. "We'll nuke you before we allow ourselves to be conquered" is the stance of every nuclear-armed country on Earth. Hell, Russia has recently tried to expand it to "we'll nuke you before we allow you to stop us from conquering others," although we are seeing that bluff called to some degree.

It appears that the Nashville shooter's "manifesto " has been leaked, and the powers that be are trying (unsuccessfully) scrub it from the internet.

Reddit and Facebook are both trying to censor it to stop its spread and it's having a Streisand Effect.

That's probably a good thing. One, it will be an absolute shit show when the civil suits come out if a giant part of the evidence is leaked to the public beforehand. Second, we should be giving ZERO air time to these crazy fucking people and their ramblings. There's a reason when the Unibomber's manifesto came out, there was a ridiculous amount of backlash for publishing it. I get the reasoning behind his being released as it was an active investigation into who he was and they were hoping by releasing it, someone would recognize the writing style or the ideology and identify him, which is exactly what ended up happening. The Nashville shooter however, nothing they say in their manifesto is going to prove anything or have any affect on the public, it can only be used to cause harm and inspire additional people.

Ted Kaczynski also promised to stop the bombings if his manifesto was published. He was an active threat offering lives in exchange for a fairly low price (as far as negotiations with terrorists go).

just saw the pictures and I don't know what I was expecting... but it wasn't that. The only part that did strike me though was when he/she mentioned they were close to being caught. Like what the fuck? How can people really say we should enact more gun laws when we can barely enforce the ones we already have? Looking at you, Maine.

I dunno…nothing really surprising to me, other than the use of “cracker” by a white shooter.
