On that same note, the earliest music torrents I remember downloading back in the day were huge compilations of college scene indie music. There was someone in the know that would put out a group of about 60 tracks every month of shit that you could not get anywhere else other than the local music scene, and they compiled a ton of local scenes into one big download. It was phenomenal... and I miss it.
O I was just about the post to ask if you worked with Skinny Puppy— I thought the name sounded familiar. TVT was the company the beat you for Reznor, and he hated them with a burning passion. He created his own “Nothing” label via Interscope Records because of his hatred for Steve Gottlieb.
Yep... and Download, Delerium, and 900 Foot Jesus (the truth is out of style!), and so many more. One of the cool parts of that job was that I inherited the entire Nettwerk catalog, so somewhere in a box I have that original Trent Reznor demo tape. Like, a real tape. I no longer have the ability to play it (as I don't have a tape player), but I still have the tape. And a bunch of other stuff.
Then there's my Rush connection that I think @Rush-O-Matic would appreciate... We had a singer Tara Maclean on our label, and she was dating a guy named Bill Bell, who was the guitarist for Alex Lifeson's Victor project. Alex LOVED Tara and was pushing hard to produce an album for her. Needless to say he was in our offices more than a few times, and I ended up meeting him and shooting the shit with him over lunch when Rush was in town, and got backstage/VIP passes for the Grace Under Pressure tour. Got to hang with Geddy for a bit, and didn't meet Neil (he was fucking off right after the show to ride his bike to the next venue in those days)
Yeah. Saw that and all the other depressing shit in my news feed and just tuned it out. Don’t really give a shit, honestly… just sick and tired of the “news”.
But this ISN'T a terrorist act, the FBI said so. However, Brian Thomson's murder was. I've got a serious question for the smart people: WHY is the FBI playing defense for the NOLA killer? What is their goal? Also, to any gun-control control activists: if you think taking everyone's guns away will stop mass-casualty incidents, then you can expect more vehicle-related killings. And bombs.
Right. Because every country that has gun control experiences wild, uncontrollable mass vehicular homicides and bombings.
If the FBI said that they're lying through their teeth. The guy had an ISIS flag on the vehicle and there are reports of multiple people involved.
The FBI person who spoke to the media early this morning did, in fact, say that. An hour or two they walked that statement back.
Makes sense, really… they don’t want to jump to conclusions so will default to the least scary position until proven otherwise.
The rented Cybertruck full of fireworks that blew up in front of Trump's hotel in Vegas (killing the driver, injuring a bunch more), is also kind of suspect, if you ask me. Reddit delivers on this one... "the new DLC looks amazing!"
Have to agree with this. The whole "they'll just use cars or gas cans and matches!!!" argument doesn't hold water. There have been a number of terror attacks with cars or trucks in Europe. America's penchant for loners gunning down strangers for funsies is unmatched in enthusiasm anywhere else in the civilized world with different means.
Both of them Army vets (one from Special Forces, clearly not a Weapons Sergeant or he'd have done a better job), both rented their vehicles from Turo so bye-bye to that CarBnB service. One seems a recent Muslim convert and likely radicalized, the other just seems matrimonially disgruntled. At least he did the right thing of only killing himself and not her as well.
