Kind of a long shot I'm guessing, but is anyone on here a real-estate attorney, or knowledgeable around sworn document signing laws? I'm trying to find out the legality around dates for borrower's signing for a loan. If anyone has anything they think they might be able to help me out with this, send me a message. Thanks.
I know someone asked this before for their girl/wife. My resume is rather light when it comes to technical skills outside of the basic Microsoft Office Suite and very limited use of database/stats software I use at my current job. I know someone suggested getting Six Sigma cert which cost a bit but probably looks great on a resume. I am planning on getting the google analytics cert since it is free and used quite a bit in these days. Are there any other online courses anyone could suggest? I would love to become more than just proficient at microsoft excel, any good online courses or certifications? Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks. edit: google analytics test isn't free but not too expensive.
Well I figured the standard business certs like google or six sigma could look good to about any job field. My dream career would be some sort of media production in some capacity. Thinking of that maybe a photoshop course to start and maybe final cut.
The more general a certification is - the more likely it is to apply to multiple fields - the more useless it is, and the more likely it is that people will pass it over on a resume. Six sigma is used for process improvement. Do you want to be involved in process improvement? I mean, sure any job could technically benefit from it, but that's not why you get a six sigma certification. I just don't generally think that pursuing certifications for the sake of having certifications is useful. When I look at resumes, at the very least it's not helpful to have unrelated certifications, and in some cases it can be harmful since it makes me wonder why they're applying. Anyway, I'm certainly not the final word in hiring, so I'm sure others will have opinions. But to me, the point of getting a certification is if you know a field you want to be in, and that certification is directly related to the field. Just loading up on certs for the sake of having line items on your resume is unhelpful at best, and counterproductive at worst.
Anyone got a recommendation for a wine to go with desert crepes? Don't drink wine or eat crepes but I have to get both tomorrow. They'll be filled with fruit and nutella and whatever else goes in crepes. All help appreciated. Would prefer to keep it around $20-25 a bottle if possible and be able to purchase the wine at my local grocery store or wine emporium.
Disclaimer: These are wines I like. I am not a connoisseur. Whole Foods carries a zinfandel called Bubo for like $8/bottle, and it is delicious with berry things (I had a slight obsession with blackberry buckle this summer, don't judge me). There's also a white blend called Evolution by Sokol Blosser in Oregon that's a little sweet but would probably be super yummy with peaches, which definitely belong in crepes. And of course strawberries and champagne are like BFFs (but I kind of prefer prosecco). I would steer clear of dessert wines because I think that sweet+sweet=too sweet. If I were you, I would go to the store with the most respectable wine section, which ought to also have a knowledgeable wine person, ask some questions. Then get a variety because everyone's taste in wine is a little different, and more wine is (almost) always better.
Does anyone know how to rotate a video 90 degrees? The video was taken on an iphone if that makes a difference. Thanks.
Any movie editor can do it. For Windows, "Windows Movie Maker" is free, simple, and can do most basic editing functions.
Question for you fine folks. When, if anytime, is a good time to follow up for an application to a job? I've been more or less spraying resumes/cover letters out, looking for a new job for the past couple of months and more or less getting back to certain follow ups as they come along. However, one job I recently applied to (accounting department for the Museum of Science and Industry) is one that I really would like to get some traction on. It's been a little less than a week, so I wanted to wait at least a few more days before sending out an email. The thing is, there is no direct person to email. Essentially just the hr department's blanket email address. I also sent it from my gmail account, so there is always the potential (although maybe remote) possibility that it was spam filtered. Any hr/hiring folks have any insight? Is it best to wait a little longer to follow up or is following up just an annoyance in general? Much obliged, tibers/tibettes.
Anyone familiar with real estate law? Two people own a house - equal shares. One wants to sell, one doesn't. Aside from curb stomping the one who doesn't, what can be done?
You can't do anything. The person that wants to sell can try and force the other person to sell, but from your standpoint there isn't anything to do. Save for offering more money. Anything is possible for the proper amount of American dollars.
Other half can't buy. Won't buy. Whatever. So this half is up Shit Creek sans paddle. Yay. that's what I thought. Thanks, y'all.
The real question is how do you own the property, as community property or a different way?, tenants in common for example. Depending on how you guys took title you may be able to sell your portion, but if you took it as joint tenants or community property with rights of survivorship violence may be your only answer.
house was jointly purchased by two parties - each putting up half. Party A sold his half of house to relative. Party B maintained control of his half. Relative refuses to sell house. Relative cannot purchase Party B's half of house.
When job hunting I have flat out lied: "Hello ABC Company. I'm calling to ensure that you received my email dated 1/1/13 as I've recently been having some problems with my email provider." 'Let me check... Yes we have received that email' "Excellent. I'd like to schedule an interview with you to discuss how I can assist with filling your vacancy. When would be an appropriate time?" Even if they don't schedule an interview, you can shoehorn finding out who to speak to about it in the future or get the email address of the person who answers the telephone. This has worked out well for me in the past. Your results may vary and I'm not an HR guy. I figure that persistence and personal interest can't hurt however.
Is there anyone on here that is certified in substance abuse counseling? Do you have any experience dealing with addiction (yourself or someone close)? Please PM me. My addicts are relapsing left and right and being that I have very little experience in dealing with the intricacies of addiction I'm at a loss. I'm not sure what the next step should be since they're all in treatment. Yes, for those that know, I have an alcoholic father. That situation is a nothing can be done, he plans to drink himself to death, much like Cage in Leaving Las Vegas.
My company is looking for a talented iOS developer to help with a project that will run through the middle of January. If you or anyone you know is interested in learning more, please reach out through PM.
My daughter is a little over 3 and we want to take her to a dentist now. Up until now we've had all her checkups done at her pediatricians office. Things are all good, but we've been told now is the time to make the switch. I can't add her to my policy as we would have needed to add her at birth (who has dental insurance for a baby with no teeth!!!). I am searching for a dental plan and they all seem so similar, yet prices very widely. I have BCBS and to get her a policy would be around $36 a month. I'm finding a lot of others that are as low as $15-18 a month. All cover 2 cleanings/exams and varied co-insurance for everything else. Her teeth are great now and they are still baby teeth. She brushes twice a day. We're more concerned about getting her the fluoride and the cleanings and to help in case of an accident. Any ideas of good companies or ones to avoid? Thanks.
The real concern is finding the dentist you want to send her to and see what coverages they accept. Most dental insurance is the same as far as check ups and cleanings go - but not all dentists, especially pediatric dentist take any coverage. At this point in the game you don't need to worry about orthodontic work, but in the future you may and very few dental policies cover orthodontia any more. Disclaimer - I am not an insurance provider but I do own a business that employs 25+ people and purchase both medical and dental insurance for them. I also have 6 kids so I have been dealing with insurance from a personal standpoint for a long time. All in all, this is just my $.02
