Sorry aluminum MiG. But I have a friend that builds aluminum boats for a living and has one of the millers for a home welding and the machine shop has like 2or3 of them for actual production work. Plus it is a MVP plug so if you are doing fine work you plug it into a 120v socket and works way better then a 230v welder.
I need some good advice on shoes for work. Retail store. The outfit is a Dickies shirt and jeans. I usually wear sneakers, but they wear out every three or four months, and I want to look a little more professional since I'm off the sales floor and now management. I like the look of some Doc Martens shoes, but they don't seem to have a lot of padding, especially around the ankles. My requirements are: -black but not glossy -comfortable -breathable (I tend to get athlete's foot easily) -cost not too much more than $100 Thanks for any and all help!
You might want to try a uniform store that sells stuff to police or EMS. They're on their feet all day long. Saving that, you might want to check out Shoes for Crews. It's mostly stuff for the restaurant industry with the intention being non-slip, but they are comfortable.
Another thought would be a place that caters to casino dealers, the ones I know are fanatical about comfortable shoes.
So every year my brother and I make it a point to watch the Duke vs UNC games together. Every year we talk about how cool it would be to go to the game at Cameron Indoor Stadium. I've decided that we've done enough talking and it's time to actually do it. I took a look on stubhub and the cheapest tickets were $1,750. I'd be willing to pay that if I need to but I'm sure there's got to be a better way to get tickets. How do you idiots suggest I go about it? Anyone have an in they can work on for a fellow idiot? Any sites you know about other than stubhub or craigslist?
Doc Martens suck ass and are completely overrated. I wore them throughout most of middle and high school, and I can tell you that after the first couple of months, those "air cushions" in the soles leak, and they leave edges that will wear through a sock in one day. Also, the soles on Doc's have terrible traction. I'd recommend trying Red Wings; they make more than just boots these days. Go by one of their retail outlets and see what they have. If they don't have anything on the shelf that appeals to you, ask to look through their catalog; it's very extensive. If you find your dream shoe there, but it isn't available in black (my boots weren't), remember that a shoe repair shop can dye them any color you want for probably less than $20.
There is more then one type of Red Wings now. One made in the USA, one in China, the Chinese ones are only about 20 dollars cheaper and are shit.
You're fucked. Those tickets will never be cheaper than what you see them listed for on Stubhub. I am a Duke fan and I would love to go to Cameron for the UNC game but I have never found a ticket for less than 900 bucks.
I will throw my hat in the ring and recommend red wings as well. I just got my second pair today but my employer paid for them. I paid close attention to where they were made and got a pair made in the states. My other pair are some iron rangers from their heritage collection that cost me over $300. But I wear them every single day and they broke in beautifully. You can get cheaper boots but they won't last as long.
I got another computer-related issue: Randomly, my wireless network went out, where it shows there not being any networks to connect to. I unplugged and re-plugged my router and modem, but the problem persists. The wifi works on all other devices except my laptop (lenovo ideapad). I can get access to the internet by plugging in an ethernet cable to the modem, but cannot get wireless access. So I checked the network wifi adapter (Ralink RT3090 802.11n) and it's installed and up to date, but under "network connections" it says the wifi adapter is disabled. I clicked "enable," , but the icon still shows disabled. I uninstalled and reinstalled the adapter, but no luck. So I decided to get a usb wireless adapter (linksys AC1200). I popped in the cd to install and set up the usb adapter, it asked me to put the usb adapter in the drive, but it could not detect the adapter in the usb drive. The usb adapter shows up under "network connections" but is disabled and I can't enable it. It also appears in my device manager under network adapters. Any help would be appreciated.
Most laptops have a method to enable or disable the wireless radio(s). This is usually either a physical switch on the outside of the laptop, or a hotkey combination with a wireless icon - for most Lenovo laptops, there's a Fn key and one of the F# keys (F6? F8?) that you have to press at the same time to enable/disable them. That could be why the adapter says disabled but you can't re-enable it.
Thanks for the info but unfortunately this did not fix the problem. My switch was turned off, as it happens, but turning it back on and then trying to enable did not work.
Flat Rate is right... I'm a Duke fan as well. If you've never been to Cameron, go if you have the chance (even if it's not the UNC game) because it's a great experience.
Mostly color theory. My house is barely a year old and every wall is painted that boring beige color. Wife and I are going to do a lot of painting this year, but I want to make sure we're playing off of our existing furniture, bed spreads, etc. Looking for some inspiration, but also, the more experimental/interactive these resources allow me to be, the better.
Does anyone know a place to find some of the short films nominated for Oscars this year? namely a short from Kosovo called "Shok"?

I have one piece of advice regarding paint- Do not paint anything a stupidly bright color, unless you want to spend hours and hours painting back over it. I picked what I thought was a really cool blue for my living room in my last house. Really cool wore off after a month, then it just got to be weird. I left it like that because I was too lazy to paint it again. Then we got ready to sell our house, and it had to go. It took four coats of good paint and roughly twenty hours of labor to cover it. It would have been easier to take down the drywall and replace it.
