Does anyone know a good Panda Preservation group? Looking to make a donation to save some Pandas, just not sure which charity to go through.
why not checking out the WWF? not the wrestling one either. I'm pretty sure they'd welcome your donation and you might be able to allocate what area you want it to go to.
I'm looking to get a camera for my girlfriend as she is interested in getting into photography. Ideally I'd like to spend under $200. I think that she would prefer a film camera as opposed to a digital one, but I've been having trouble finding new film cameras that fit my price and quality ranges. I think that I would prefer getting a new rather than used camera. Anybody have any suggestions?
I got a 42" plasma screen TV (Panasonic if it matters) for Christmas last year, and I realized that I have a bad pixel the other day. Of course, this happened about 4 days after the one year warranty had run out. Is there any way to fix this?
The new house came with an old fridge that has been leaking water into the fridge since the day we moved. Finally getting down to dealing with it, but it seems like an easy solution - just clear the defrost drain with hot water and a little drain snake. Problem: I don't actually know where the drain is on my fridge. The model number is ET18GKXHW00 but the online diagrams I'm finding from the appliance parts sources are way over my head. Help a girl out. I'm shit at this stuff.
How do I link a PDF File to a website? The PDF File was sent to me via e-mail, and my goal is to create a link on my hockey team's website so that it goes straight to the PDF. I recently converted the PDF file to a jpeg, and it became incredibly pixilated. Any help on this would be extremely appreciated! Cheers.
I need help getting a US Passport ASAP. Is there anyway to get it under two weeks? Does anyone have any experience with this or am I shit out of luck? Thanks in advance.
My girlfriend just found out see is a synesthete last night talking to me. For some reason it took her 20 years to find out that not everyone sees the world the way she does. She sees letters, numbers, weekdays in colours and also associates people with colours. I´m supposed to have a yellow "aura". I thought she was just fucking with me after reading or seeing a show about synesthesia but I had her do a test on <a class="postlink" href="http://www.synesthete.org/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.synesthete.org/</a> (took fucking ages) and yeah she defianently has it. Now what I´m interested about is that she also said she sees words as she is talking to people. Sort of like seeing life with subtitles. She explained that she sees them sort of in her head imagining them involunatarily instead of actually seeing them but said it happens all the time. When I asked what happens when theres a bunch of people all talking at the same time she said that only the words she actually makes out appear. Now is there a word for this and maybe something to read about it? I couldn´t find anything about actually seeing words when hearing them. I have found stuff about people seeing colours when hearing sounds but nothing like what she describes. Anyway she is going to see her doctor soon so she will mention it to him but I´d love to find out more.
Have you reviewed the website? http://travel.state.gov/passport It's been awhile for me, but as I recall the fastest way to get one is to apply in person at a passport center. I don't know if it is fast enough. PS - I'm having major problems loading the passport page, but I think that's an issue with my work computer.
Sounds like she a version called ticker-tape synesthesia. People describe it as seeing a running subtitle to their life, and usually mention that the spelling and punctuation is always correct. I can't find a really good website about it since research on synesthesia, especially the less common ones, is so rare (I only remember this from an abnormal psych class I took years ago), but that should get you started on Google if you're/ she's interested.
I was just terminated from my job on NYE. Now my boss is doing a inventory and cannot find a couple items. He is threating to deduct my items from my PTO time that is owed. Does anyone know if this is in his legal boundries or is he over stepping them?
I just moved in to a new place, and when I try to connect to the wireless it doesn't work and says there was a "connection timeout." I haven't used wireless much, so I have no idea what that means or how to fix it. My computer is brand new and I haven't had any problems with other wireless networks (I'm on a shitty ultra weak network now). Also, my roommate's computer connects to the network just fine, so I'm assuming it's some little setting I have wrong on my internet options or something. Any ideas? (I know I gave a pretty vague description, I'm just hoping it's a really common problem with an easy fix.)
Alright ladies and germs, on the verge of moving to Dayton, OH, from Seattle for a job. Know next to nothing about it. Have only been to the airport there. Would love general info, an insiders point of view as to neighborhoods, nightlife, just anything in general that would help someone out. I've been to Cincy, once, so I am new to the midwest living. Thanks.
Looking for a reliable internet provider. Wireless/3G, satellite, anything. I am out of the range of the broadband/land line stuff (sorry if I got the names wrong, I'm not a very technical person), and I do a lot of downloading/uploading so I need a high limit (or no limit). I work out of the house and use the computer for both that and school. I'm with WildBlue right now and I was mislead as to both the speed and the download capacity. Any recommendations, or warnings, would be greatly appreciated.
Boerne, Texas. Just outside of San Antonio, and just outside the range of all the major providers (my parents' house, less than a quarter mile away, gets perfect service from one of them, while all I could get was dial-up).
If there are any persons privvy to knowledge of the New York State penal system, can you please shoot me a PM. I have a need for some advice before January 19th please and thank you.
After I graduate school this May, I'll be permanently be moving to Massachusetts from PA. Once I do this, does anyone know the process for converting my driver's license and vehicle tags? I know I need a new license and plates, but I'm not quite sure how the process works. Do I also need to get a new registration too? Thanks, the amount of shit I have to get done in the move is a little overwhelming at this point.
Go to DMV (or whatever they call it in MA) and they will take your PA license and issue you a MA license (probably a temp until they check for outstanding warrants). You can also take care of registration and new tags while you're there, but you may have to do the vehicle inspection first, not sure which comes first in MA. Get there early--like, when they open. I'd bring a book.
