Re: BWW Yeah, I am not sure that everyone is going to believe that this chair was supporting a land whale for three years and the first time a normal human touches it, it breaks. I say take her chair away totally by saying it is causing an office distraction and thereby lowering productivity. Then tell her the company can't afford to replace her chair so she will have to stand during work.
I've tried playing this a bunch of different ways and I still have no idea what you're trying to get at. Are you sure those are the notes?
Not totally sure at all. I am nearly tone deaf, and those notes were "deciphered" using an online piano simulator. Deltabelle has given me another great contextual example of where this little musical thing might have been heard - on the stages of vaudeville, when a comedian was dragged offstage. May have also been followed by a rim-shot, cymbal type of thing. Could I be anymore vague?
I'm looking to buy an iPhone clone off eBay. Does anyone have any experiences with one? This is the one I'm currently thinking about buying. My phone was stolen and want to get a new one. I'm borrowing a friend's old flip phone for now, but I want to get a phone with decent internet access. I can't cancel the data portion of my old contract without paying a $100 penalty, so I'm paying $10 a month right now for something that I'm not getting any use out of. I called and tried to see if I could get a deal from the cellphone company, but the service agent said he couldn't give me any sort of deal on a smartphone. I can upgrade in November so this just has to last me until then.
Hi, can someone please help me with a German translation? My grandfather passed away this morning, and I will be orating his eulogy. It will mostly be in English, but as he is German and spoke it as his primary language, I would like to close out my final comment in German. Something like: "Farewell Opa, thanks for the time we had together. Every time I have a beer, I will think of you. Until we meet again." The precise wording is not important, as long as the general message is conveyed accurately and does not sound like it is straight out of Babelfish, so fluent speakers of the language only please, as I will be in front of many native speakers. Also I would like to print this sentiment on a memorial, so if the written version could be as close to grammatically correct as well, I would appreciate it. Thanks, and much rep to whoever can help me. Ps, funeral is on Wednesday.
Is this what you're talking about? <a class="postlink" href="http://www.swaneewhistle.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.swaneewhistle.com/</a> If not, I'm still looking into it.
Could you possibly be thinking of the Looney Toons/Merrie Melodies theme (can be heard here)? That doesn't exactly follow those notes but it's the only thing I can think of. Interesting side note: Wikipedia also has entries for the Oriental Riff, as well as it's Arabian equivalent.
Not those, either. I'd recognize the Merrie Melodies/Looney Toons theme even if I was given a lobotomy. And describing the Oriental theme would be all too easy. This thing is only three or four seconds long. It's driving me up the goddamn wall now.
So, I'm moving in with my girlfriend in about a month, and the sick sad realization hit us both at the same time: NEITHER of us owns a good tv. I want to buy an HDTV, clearly, it's 2010, and I'm not exactly looking to break the bank. What should I be looking for? Am I better off sacrificing size for quality? Can I get a really good one for 300-400 or is this a fools errand? Anyone know of a good place for deals on HDs? We bought an HDTV off Woot for $120 a few months ago. It was a refurbished Phillips. It stopped turning on after a month, and it's a problem a lot of other people had with the TV, it's dead an unrevivable.
Nope, but definitely in the same vein. It's some kind of goddamn wacky little tune that follows a punchline by a crappy vaudeville comedian. This is making me, and now my coworkers, CRAZY.
I know exactly what you're talking about, but nobody can name a single thing that it's from. Son of a bitch. doo doo doo dah doo doo
Hey everyone, To preface this I'm saying that I am posting this in the world travel thread as well, as it pertains to travel/living arrangements that I need help with. Thought that it would work in either thread. Anyways: I some need help with finding someplace to live in New York City in the summer. I will be working in the Banking District, on Park Avenue, in the around 50th-54th street if that helps. I am a college student that does not currently live in NYC, so I do not know cheap housing that I can get there. I'll be there for 6 weeks starting June 15th, and really need cheap housing as I am on a budget. I have heard of housing programs with dorms at NYU and Marymount Manhattan, but I have heard that these are doubles only, would really prefer a single if they can be found cheap. I also heard that living in Queens isn't such a bad idea, and then I can take the subway over to work every day as it's close by. To reiterate: I'm looking for a cheap single for the summer, dorms or apartment doesn't really matter. Thanks guys.
I always here and see ads from CarFax - to get a Free CarFax report. Yet, it's $34.99 to get the report. How is that free? I am selling a car that I've had for 7 years - I have been the only owner, and it's never been in a wreck; but, I was curious what the CarFax might say if someone were to pull it.
Does the sound effect you're thinking of usually get played on a slide whistle? That's what I have been looking at recently. youtube videos of slide whistle sounds effects. *edit* Is'iss it?
Is there a way for me in the User control panel to turn off the ads? Every time certain adds come up my anti-virus goes off and I get two warnings and two annoying beeps. Every other click and it goes off, it is getting maddening. I have had it go off only 2 other times in the past year on every other web site I visited combined. If I am on TIB for 10 minutes it will go off at least 30-40 times.
Hey guys, I am beginning my own reading/research on starting a business and was wondering what books/resources the Idiot Board recommends? Thanks in advance!
Has anyone watched The Dish anytime in the last few days? Apparently, and I won't know for sure until it reruns tomorrow at 1pm, my lovely prom picture was featured on the "F-Bombs" segment. They said they would notify me if they ran it but they never did. Can someone with a DVR record it and possibly get it onto the computer somehow (I don't know how these things work so I don't know if it's possible)?
