I figure this is to retarded to be considered a tech question. I recently got an iPhone with a new sim, I have another phone I use (nokia something), is there an easy way to swap my numbers from the nokia to the iPhone? For the record I used to focus on the TMT sector in Finance, yep I am really that fucking stupid.

I didn't see anything tech-thread related, so sorry if this is in the wrong place.

Anyway, I fucked up. I got super drunk on Friday and changed the password to my laptop, and now I don't remember it. I tried booting into safe mode but I don't know the admin password either, so I'm basically fucked right now. I don't have a password reset disk and would have no idea how to get one or what to do with it even if I do find one. I'm fairly tech savvy and just planned on reformatting it, but if there's anything else I could try that would save that fuckery, then I'd be very grateful to anyone who could help.

Absolutely. Use ophcrack. <a class="postlink" href="http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/</a> Burn the CD and boot from it and you should be able to recover the passwords fairly quickly.

I need someone who can make a fairly high-resolution picture of the label on the bottle cap of the Ellie Badge from the movie UP. I guess just basic Photoshop or really good skills with Paint is all that's needed. I've tried myself but still can't get it to look right.

The only change I would like is the word GRAPE changed to white instead of black.

    Thanks.

I am 5'11, 160 lbs and lanky as hell. I would really like to find a quality, good fitting tshirt. I'll pay whatever it takes as long as it fits well. Medium is just little too big. Any lanky mofo's out there that can help me out?

    I need a bed.

I've never bought a bed in my life aside from the shittastick one I've got now, a $75 crickety springboard and mattress I swiped off craigslist here in DC. It's getting to the point where I can't stand it anymore, and am going to buy a new one soon.

My question is, if I'm going floor-to-ceiling replacement, how much do you think is a reasonable price range? It doesn't have to be brand-spanking new, but is $500 a realistic level to be spending? I think that might be highballing it at little but I'm willing to go that high. I've looked on craigslist and am giving up there, I think something from a furniture store like Ikea or whatever else sells furniture is where I'm gonna start looking. $2-300 for a mattress and springboard? Is that about right?

Sheets, blanket, mattress pad, a few more pillows, maybe a down comforter - $1-200 more? Is Bed Bath and Beyond a good place to scope that stuff out? I've never set foot in a BB&B, or any furniture store for that matter, without letting someone else to all the work.

Any advice is welcome. Thanks in advance.

If it were me, I'd put the most $ in the mattress and boxspring. Frames typical come with this purchase, and you can always get a better bedframe later (LL Bean isn't a bad place to check for inexpensive bedframes). We bought a Sealy Posturepedic when we were first married (20+ years ago) and that mattress and boxspring are still in use in my daughter's bedroom and in great shape. Flipping the mattress every month is definitely worth the effort. As for sheets, Overstock.com typically has a great selection and great prices on the higher thread-count sheets. The Company Store sells a wide variety of quality comforters in all price ranges. Sheets, too.

We bought this about a year ago and we love it (it comes in all other sizes too). You don't need a box spring either. We bought some like half-inch plywood and some 2x2s and turned our regular old bed frame into a platform thingy. It works beautifully and is so comfortable. In fact, our older boys loved it so much that we bought both of them the same mattress in twin-size for their beds and now they both sleep like rocks. Even my little guy likes it.

And yes, even when ordering a mattress, shipping is still $2.95. It is vacuum packed like a giant burrito.

Should you order from Overstock (they have others to choose from), shortly after your order has been delivered, they'll send you like a 10% off coupon which you can then use to buy the bedding. 10% isn't much but every little bit helps. Plus, Overstock frequently has bedding sales, so as lust4life said, it's a good place to go for that at least.

I cannot stress enough that whatever you do, be careful when you go to a mattress retailer. They are as smarmy as car salesmen with their tactics. It's an old article but it still holds true:

When I got my apartment in college I needed a cheap-yet-comfortable bed. IKEA to the rescue. I bought a full-size frame and foam mattress for $200. Then I went to Bed Bath and Beyond and spent probably $60 on the best memory foam mattress topper I could find that they had. Add on a new bed spread for $45 and a couple sets of those cotton knit sheets for $20 a piece and I had created a bed that was insanely comfortable for about $350 total.

5 years later and the bed is now in the second bedroom of my condo. Everytime I have guests stay over, they always comment that it's the most comfortable bed they've ever slept in.

I know some people think that IKEA sucks, but it's worth a look if you want something comfortable (and new) that won't break the bank.

In highschool I took a psychology class where the teacher would only show the "relevant scenes" of a movie and wouldn't tell us the title to prevent biases on whatever paper/project we were working on that was related to the scene.

He showed us this scene where a teenager moved next door to some kind old man who was a general for the Germans during WWII. He was responsible for over seeing a concentration camp or something. The kid, who was interested in WWII figured out his identity and interviewed him for a school project or something. I'm foggy on the details, but that's all I can remember.
My best guess is that it came out sometime in the 80s, maybe early 90s.

Anyone know the name of this movie?

I've done a few batches of home brew beer, and every batch has had a lot of head/fizz in it when I open the bottles. As soon as I open the bottle, the beer head overflows from the bottle and won't stop building up.

I am very careful not to shake the bottles throughout the process and the beer is cold when opened. Not sure what else could cause this.

Just sounds like fermentation in the bottles. Fermentation = CO2, so you will get that. Try brewing up in a barrel and going that route, and you can eliminate the fizz in your drink.

If you're getting that much extra fermentation in the bottles, it means you're bottling too soon. You shouldn't bottle until the fermentation has almost stopped. What's your recipe?

You need to be careful, if you're getting that much extra CO2 in the bottles, you might be close to the point where your bottles are going to start exploding.

This. It sounds like a lame thing to worry about but I've worked in a brewery in almost all aspects of production, and even though it makes me sound like a loser, you need to make sure you wear cut resistant gloves when you handle those bottles. I don't know if you've ever seen a beer bottle explode only because of the pressure inside, but it's like a mini nail bomb going off in your hand. I've had it happen to me and even with gloves on, I spent the better part of two weeks picking small glass slivers out of my hand, arm, and under my fingernails. Without gloves on, my hand would have looked like a mini Freddy Krueger went to work on it.

Safety concerns aside, it is a fermentation issue. How long does the whole process take you, and at what point are you doing the bottling?

Don't be a pussy. Bottle those fuckers earlier and juggle them. Just set up a video camera first to show us your skills.

Something else to consider - you MUST leave your bottles in the 'fridge for at least 48 hours before opening. Otherwise, the CO2 isn't drawn into the solution and you'll get the effect you're describing.

That said, of course you don't want to bottle early either - but assuming you did not bottle early, the bottle being cold is not enough. It has to have been cold for a prolonged period of time.

Also, you may be using too much priming sugar.

I keep getting these phone calls from "Rachel from Cardholder Services". It's just some telemarketing thing where they want me to consolidate my credit cards or some shit like that. I don't have a credit card. The recording gives me two options. Option 1: Talk to a live representative. Option 2: Get taken off their calling list. I've done the option 2 thing enough times to know that it doesn't work. And I've tried talking to a live person but as soon as I start to ask (yell usually) to be taken off their list the dude hangs up on me.

I'm pretty sure this is illegal, right? Also, and this surprises me, my caller ID shows a number when they call (269-768-2214). Is there an agency or something that I can report them to? I doubt it'll do much good but it's annoying and I want to feel like I'm at least trying to do something about it.

It sucks that they always call me when I'm at work. If I were at home I could at least amuse myself by fucking with the guy.

    Contact the Federal Trade Commission. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.ftc.gov" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.ftc.gov</a>

If you've requested to be placed on their "do not call" list and they continue to call you, the FTC will step in and bitch-slap those hoes.

The method I was given didn't work, but for those that are interested, there is a way to do it. It involves repairing your copy of Windows and using a command line interface to remove the password. Not hard, so if you ever get drunk and change (then forget) your password, let me know and I'll tell you how I got it done.
