This couild probably go in automotive but I figure here is more relevant My brother decided to take my c ar for a joyride and left the window open a crack. I open it this morning and its full of moths and mosquitos. I have a leather glove in my car and i go to town dropping the stupid things but im sure theres still some still alive as I didn't look too thoroughly (had to get to work) So I guess this a three part question 1: Whats the best way to flush the bugs that are still alive out of my car 2: What should i clean the now susbtantial amount of bug guts out of my car (the entire car is cloth interior) 3: What should I beat my brother with.
Take it to a coin-op car wash, and high-pressure wash the interior. The trick is to use the wax FIRST, and then just rinse after. No soap. Seriously... are people now this fucking stupid that they're asking how to get bugs out of a car, and what to clean it with? What do you normally clean your car with? Do you think there's some sort of special "bug guts" removal magic formula? Why would you have to go to an internet forum for this kind of advice? Maybe someone can help me with that? And if you wasted our time with that shit in the Automotive thread, I'd ban your ass for a day.
Probiotic Does anyone eat probiotic yogurt? I don't know if it's only for women or not (or just marketed to them) but I've been trying it the past two weeks and it really hasn't done much to improve my stomach. Though for some reason it does make everything smell, whereas beforehand, nothing ever did.
That's entirely too much work for today's fast paced lifestyle. Just go to your neighborhood drive-through car wash with the windows down. Skip the hot wax and don't forget your snorkel.
Come on, a snorkel isn't long enough to reach outside the spray. What you really need is a garden hose, attached to the tailpipe. That way, there's plenty of air being forced through for you to breath.
I live in a condo and witnessed one neighbor back into the bumper of another neighbors car. The offender got out, looked at the damage and left. I want to tell the person who hit their car, but at the same time don't want to get involved in a neighborhood dispute. I am kind of torn because I would want to know who hit my car but I don't want drama. What should I do?
Man up and tell them... take a stand, get involved. Society would be a better place if more people did just that. $0.02 Failing that, leave a note on the car... but without getting involved, there's no 3rd-party verification that it happened like that, unless they go CSI on the bumpers... which is highly unlikely. Mind you, how do you know that the person didn't already tell them?
Ok, I'll try to explain this the best I can, but I suck with computers so bare with me. I want to take a 15 second clip out of a television show, and isolate it. It's a really funny clip that I want to send to somebody as a joke, but sending anymore than just that clip would kill the joke. I downloaded the entire 30 minute episode of the television show on iTunes. I also have a MacBook Pro, with the fancy iMovie application (which I haven't used before, but I thought it was supposed to be good for this kind of thing). I tried to import the show into iMovie thinking that would allow me to cut the clip I want, but iMovie won't import the tv show's file. So...is there something else I can do to import the show into iMovie, or am I going down the wrong path completely. Is there another way to cut and isolate the 15 seconds I want out of a 30 minute television show? Thanks in advance.
Re: Probiotic Disclaimer: I'm not a doctor. Yogurts "fortified" with probiotics are not going to improve your digestive health...pasteurization kills the potentially helpful natural bacteria and leaves you with a sugary, artificial product with little to no nutritional value. If you really want something that works for gut health, go for naturally fermented foods: kim chi, sauerkraut, kefir, greek yogurt (the real stuff). These have up to 10-15 billion cfu (the unit by which viable bacteria are measured), compared to 1 billion for Activia. Depending on your situation, a probiotic supplement may help. Garden of Life makes a good one that you can buy on Amazon, but there are other good options out there too. Feel free to PM me with any questions or for more details.
Looks like I'm going to need to get a new vehicle, so I'm wondering if anybody has some good car buying tips. I won't need to get it for about 6 months, so I'm not in a rush and can wait. Anybody with some insights on what time of year is the best or stuff like that? For reference, I've started with the 2011 Kia Sorento's so it'd be something along those lines. I would also be trading in if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Does anyone have any idea how to access the old threads on the advice board? It that even possible? Or has anyone saved any of the conversations to a word document? You know, the "What should I do with my life", "I quit the job I hate", etc. threads. Any help is much appreciated.
My first suggestion would be not to buy new, but look for a slightly used vehicle. If you are set on buying a new car, the best time is when they're starting to get the new model year vehicles in and want to clear out their inventory of the prior model year (usually happens around July/August through Nov/Dec). Third, don't buy a Kia. Yes, they cost less than other new cars, but from what I've seen it's because they're considerably lower quality. The fit and finish of the interiors has been terrible on the ones I've seen, some gaps between interior panels are huge, some look like they barely fit together. Everything looks like it's just not quite right, but they don't care because it keeps the costs down. If a new Kia costs X dollars, you're better off finding a used car from almost any other company for X dollars, I can almost guarantee it will be a higher quality vehicle, and will be worth more when you eventually trade it in/sell it than the Kia would be.
I just got a job in Kansas City, MO and will have to move out there within a month's time. Any suggestions on places to live for a 23 year old, just graduated, single male?
I'm about to begin heart rehab next week and will start working on my own shortly thereafter. I'm going to ask my rehab guy his opinion, but I'd like as much input as possible before I shell out potentially a few hundred dollars for a nice piece of equipment. I have used gps items extensively for running and cycling and use cadence for cycling quite a bit. I am looking to get a wrist heart rate monitor most likely with the chest strap or if they have some that don't need one, I have no idea yet. I know nothing about heart rate monitors. I will end up using it for weight training, running and cycling, so it would need to be useful for all three purposes. I've used Polar and Sigma for cycling and Garmin for hiking gps and gps for running. I'm not tied to any brands, just looking for something that's good. Price range most likely from $100 to $250. I don't need a $450 unit like the top of the line ones. The reviews out there show so many that would be good, so it's hard to get a feel. I'd love anybody here's personal opinions on what they like to use and why. Thanks for the help.
Travel I'm thinking of going to somewhere in Europe this summer for a trip with the girlfriend, maybe Italy or Spain. Is it possible to buy a plane ticket in Euros instead of Dollars? I was wondering if it would be a decent arbitrage opportunity because the Euro has gotten trashed recently, but I don't know if I can do it.
On average, I make about 400 dollars per paycheck, twice a month. How much each month & for how long do you think I'd have to save some money in order to be able to afford a bigger apartment, and a car?
I would suggest washing your Hooter's uniform in hot water to make it tighter. This would boost your paycheck and help you afford the double-wide you hear the bartenders brag about.
