The pop-ups suck, but it's the best site I've come across. It has every lesson and tab you could imagine.

Download power tab as well. It's like the karaoke of guitar tabs.

I started off just playing tabs and supplementing theory through that (otherwise, you're just memorizing fingering). I tried to start off the traditional way by learning theory and doing drills, but tabs are much more fun and will keep you motivated.

So, I essentially have a job at the local version of Gamestop. I'm a regular customer and I know my shit and they manager is anxious to have a woman in there. I still have to go for an interview with a woman at corporate as a formality. How dressy do I need to be for this interview? I'd dress to the nines for a desk job but this is retail. I haven't interviewed for a retail job since I was a teenager. More than jeans, less than a skirt?

It's still an interview, it's in the corporate environment, and it's with a woman. For one hour of your life, put in the effort.

Is there any way to get your address off of Ebay's blacklist? I haven't had an account with them for the past ten years because I put in like 10 bids on these transformer action figures when I was a kid. I never paid for any of them and those stupid bids have been haunting me ever since. HAUNTING ME!! HAUNTING ME I TELL YOU!!!!!!!
Ebay don't play. They're ruthless and merciless.

Long story short, one of my best friends is in the running for a jersey shore lookalike contest. Apparently she looks enough like snooki for her sister to enter her in the contest.

Anyway, I want to help her win, so I'm out whoring for votes. It's wicked easy to vote. No email address required or anything. Just click the link, then click 'vote' below the picture. She gets 3 sets of 4 passes to area (NY) amusement parks if she wins. She's 60 votes out of 1st place.

If you don't vote, you hate puppies, freedom and christmas. Some people hate 1 or 2 of those, but not all 3. So, vote, or you're a puppy-kicking jehova communist.

Anyone with professional experience with thinktanks, NGOs, policy institutes, etc., please PM me. I've been thinking about a Master's in International Relations or something similar and I want to know if I'd be walking into a bloodbath of debt and bullshit only to emerge jobless with a worthless degree. Your thoughts would be appreciated.

If anyone is familiar with financial aid specifically the EFC portion of it, please PM me. I have a question regarding that aspect due to the fact the lady at the financial aid office said both my ex and myself could not claim my son on the form even though we both take care of him equally.

Starcraft 2 is finally out and I want to see if my laptop can run it, but everyone I know that bought it has already given out their trial keys. Does anyone have a spare trial key laying around? PM me. Thanks.

I'm posting this in two places, the same damn post, to try and get a reply. If anyone on here knows people in Athens, GA, my best friend is hiring at the bar next door to mine, and I owe him a massive favor. PM me ASAP, they're looking to staff in the next two weeks.

I'm trying to get together a list of music that I want played at my wedding reception. Right now, I'm just in the brainstorming phase of it, and my fiance will probably veto a lot of my ideas anyway (although I can't see why we can't just put on the Guns N Roses discography and be done with it).

Anyway, we plan to have the reception as a fairly laid back deal where everybody basically hangs out, eats and drinks, and we get the hell out of there within a couple of hours. I'm picking out songs with a "background music only" mindset at this point. This is my first (and let's hope the only) time I've done this, so I'm looking for suggestions, ie, should we have a song for our entrance/cutting the cake/eating/etc? Or will background music suffice?

Also, song suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance.

I did this for our wedding, and aside from a handful of songs, the only ones played were our "dance song" and a selection we chose for the cake-cutting ("When I'm 64" by The Beatles). However, the DJ did an excellent job, and in hindsight, other than the dance song and a very limited number of other requests, I shouldn't have given him a list. He's a pro, this is what he does, and this is what we're paying him for. Don't over think it and let him do his job. (And we went with a DJ rather than a band for 2 reasons: DJs don't take breaks, so the music never stops, and the cost difference allowed us to hire a harpist for the cocktail hour.)

This is very true. You have enough bullshit to plan/decide upon that the song list should be the least of your worries and actually will be if you hire a competent DJ. You could pull the DJ aside ahead of time and slip him an extra tip for playing some songs that remind you of your new wife. It would be a very, very good investment if you pull your wife onto the dance floor and whisper those memories in her ear as they play. Huge brownie points.

I highly suggest African Queen by 2 Face Idibia. If the woman I ever end up marrying has any sense of humor and is/isn't black, either way it will be hilarious this song will definitely be on my list.

I'm officially looking for suggestions for footwear for my new job. I'm on my feet for hours on end. There is carpeting but it is ridiculously thin and by the end of the night, my feet are throbbing all over on the bottom. I went out today and bought a pair of Fila cross-trainers but they are very similar to the POS Wal-mart sneakers I bought a few months ago so I am skeptical as to their ability to protect my feet. I also bought an off-the-rack set of Dr. Scholls insoles. I'd love to do the $50 dollar custom insole jammies but just can't swing it right now, even with the $10 dollar rebate.

I remember that when I was in cosmetology school, we had to wear those ridiculously ugly nurses shoes. I actually wouldn't mind wearing those right about now but with all the advances in shoes, they don't actually make those any more. The store that I bought the Filas from has some Crocs knock-offs (for lack of a better term) called Scrubs. I have never worn a pair of Crocs in my life because they are ridiculously ridiculous so I don't know (and didn't previously care) how comfy they were. Should I actually go that route? Is there a medical advantage to those type of shoes? Someone previously suggested New Balance cross-trainers. Hubby stumbled across a long abandoned pair at the gym lately but they are a half-size too small at least.

Does anyone have any definitive opinions on shoes? I'm thinking that I ought to return the Filas and try out the Scrubs but I don't know. I would wrap my feet in a block of Jello if it quelled the pain. I welcome any advice anyone can give.

Dansko's or Sanita's. (pretty much the exact same shoes)

I'm on my feet for about 10-12 hours a shift. My feet never hurt.

Brand new they run about $110 a pair, but if you don't mind a little scratch or two (which I don't, since mine looked fucked after a week at work), you can get factory seconds from this place: http://www.footprints.com/

Oh, and they have girl styles that aren't horribly atrocious.

It kinda depends on your feet...if you have wide feet, I can't recommend a better brand then Rockport. They make Rockport for women, but the downside is they can be kinda pricey. If you have a Shoe Carnival in your area, check them out for ridiculous deals. I picked up a pair of Rockports for work at a Shoe Carnival for less then $50, if my memory serves me correctly.

Just my opinion, but Puma makes some of the most comfortable shoes around. Zappos.com has a huge selection, so if you go try a pair on in a footlocker or whatever store is near you and like them, order them from there.

In fact, check Zappos for whatever shoe you want to buy. Their prices are decent and everytime I've ordered from them they offered free shipping with a free upgrade to next day. The last time, I placed the order and my shoes were at my doorstep the next afternoon.

I agree with Tempest...Dansko's are pretty comfy after you break them in. They're worth the investment. Half of the people I work with wear them.

A softer shoe that's still really comfy is Bjorn. They're almost the opposite of Dansko. Really light and a little soft. I'm partial to them over Dansko.

I've worn New Balances with Superfeet in them for the last 6 or so years. They're pretty damn awesome, they give no pain whatsoever, provided you have socks thicker than sheer.
