I'm flying to Germany from the US next week to propose to my girlfriend. I'm bringing the ring with me, and I was wondering if there is anything I need to do as far as tariffs or anything like that. I'm obviously going to keep the ring with me the entire trip, but I just don't know if I need to claim it. Also, if I just keep it on me when going through the metal detector, will it set it off? I was thinking about tying a piece of string to it and then pinning it to the inside of my pants pocket for safe keeping.
If it really is a nerve you want to apply moist heat until you see a doctor. (I hope you have seen one by now). If not, go. And, don't go to a walk-in clinic. Most of the ones I've been to are worthless. Go to your GP who will refer you to someone else if he can't handle it. Generally speaking, ice is for muscles. Heat is for nerves.
Which is good advice, if you know it's nerve. If it's muscle, you don't want to go putting heat on it for the first 72 or so hours. Encouraging blood flow into a potential muscle tear is not a good idea. Really though, get to a doctor if you haven't already.
Bit of a random one, but does anyone here have personal experience with Borderline Personality Disorder? PM me if you don't mind talking about it with a random internet stranger. Cheers.
Anyone here work with the federal government? I have some questions about security clearance. PM me for details.
Feelin lazy and don't want to track down and download games one by one, so if anyone could point me toward a reliable place to download a ROM pack that has a decent library, but isn't too big, for the following systems: NES SNES Genesis Gameboy/GBA it'd be much appreciated.
The drug thread seems dead so: Does amphetamine affect the taste buds? My appetite is decreased (expected) but my sense of taste seems to be ramped up. I don't smoke and nothing else has changed.
Depends on the amphetamine. Given what you posted in the rant and rave thread, you're probably not getting the MDMA related sensory enhancement so much as your mental focus will snap onto things like a pitbull. Your attention is so much more focused on taste (by chance the first time) that taste seems WAY ramped up. It's like concentrating on tasting every nuance of a wine - except presumably with cheetos or something that you weren't aware you were focused on. Then you notice that holy shit - my sense of taste is sharper - so your attention focus is predisposed towards food - like the aforementioned pitbull knowing that the postman comes about this time of day, your attention is ready to latch onto that sensation as soon as it happens and you build a self repeating cycle where everything tastes amazing. Beats the crap out of some of the other mental loops you can get into on dexies. I rolled my ankle on a step when I first started taking Ritalin and got irritatingly focused on the pain response. That sucked balls. You get better at managing it as you adjust to the drug.
In all the years I worked retail, for some reason I don't know the answer to this question. I had a dispute with a certain retailer *ahemCanadianTireahem*, and they initially refused to return a dishwasher I had bought. I demanded a manager, she showed up, we argued, pulled the box apart and she verified I never used it. They completed the return on my debit card. The question is: can they reverse that refund without me being present? I see that they called my house today, but did not leave a voicemail. I'm thinking they disagree AGAIN with the refund, but they have the dishwasher and I have the cash.
I don't think they can without notifying you somehow. Why not just call them and ask? Also, what the hell is a tire joint doing selling dishwashers? Weird things go on up there.
No. They cannot charge a debit card without you entering a pin. Your refund was a totally separate transaction. If you have the cash, they can't negate it by charging you again. (at least not with a Canadian bank card).
If I have your credit or debit card number on file with an expiration date, I can manually enter a sale into my terminal and be paid within 48 hours. I can do it to your checking account as well if I have your account and bank routing numbers, although the funds take a little longer to arrive than with the card terminal. You, as the cardholder, can dispute the validity of this transaction with your financial institution. Doing this indiscriminately is generally not viewed as a good business practice, though. Chances are they are probably calling to offer you a deal in order to retain you as a customer?
Debit cards work differently in Canada. It only works with a POS gateway, and the pin is required. Credit cards are different. In the US debit cards work more like credit cards.
Does anyone have any experience with, or recommendations for, an outdoor wireless security camera system in the 300 dollar range? I have been researching on line for a while and I can't seem to find any good guides on buying one. Most of the ones I come across end up not having that many reviews or more poor reviews the positive ones. Thanks.
