So, I just replaced my laptop with a new Eurocom Panther 3, running Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit.

The problem: I cannot upload pictures to Facebook to save my life. I tried IE, Chrome, Firefox, all to no avail. They start processing but appear to just time out. Likewise, I tried uploading using Windows Photo Gallery Live as well as an add-in program called LiveUpload, which also works through the gallery.

The most success I've had was with Liveupload, but it also manages to upload one to two pics at a time; the rest all fail saying Facebook did not respond to request. Any thoughts?

Firstly, post this kind of stuff in the Tech Help Thread.

How big are the pics? Try copying/resizing the images to something about 150k or so and retry the upload. It could be that the pics are too big and are timing out on the uploads.

Need some help from the Philly crowd...

I'm going to be driving from New Hope, PA to Malvern, PA (near Valley Forge) on Friday morning at peak rush hour. I'm expecting that this route will land me in some nasty traffic due to my proximity to Philly.

Any suggestions regarding roads to stay away from? According to the directions, I'm going to be on 202S, 263S, I-276/I-76E, and 29N. How fucked am I?

My meeting starts at 8:30--how early should I leave?

    Thanks for any help.

Does anyone know where I can find a live stream of baseball games? Specifically the Braves. I am trying to avoid paying the $200 for the MLB package. I am going to hook it up to the TV as well.

    Thanks

You can also offer to pay it off for less when you make that call. Often times, those collection agencies buy those accounts for pennies on the dollar. Anything they get is seen as a win. Offer them a payment for half as long as it's removed from your credit report. They'll try to counter, but stick to your guns. See what you can get.

I need to book a room in Vegas, close to the Bellagio, and am wondering where to find sweet deals. All you hear is that Vegas is doing so bad that they are practically are giving rooms away. Anyone know a good place to find such deals? Any cheap hotels suggestions would be great.

    Thank

It will vary by state, but "sold as is" doesn't necessarily mean you're fucked. In MN, you can still bring a private party to court over something that might not have been disclosed about a vehicle. It's up to the judge what happens even though there's no "lemon law" for private party sales. I would say that in this situation that there's no chance of getting any money back though. Whatever problems there were should have been researched before putting a deposit down.

Look at booking a room at Bally's. It's literally right across the street and usually 1/3 the price, if you even have to pay for it. If you do stay there, get their players card and play here and there at any of the Harrah's casino's around and by the end of your trip you'll probably be staying for free if not next to nothing when it's all said and done. Also, not sure if it's something you're looking for, but in my opinion, they have one of the best value/most underrated steak houses in Vegas. Every time I've been out there over the past 15 years, I've never had anything less than a spectacular meal there, and compared to other big name, al a carte steak houses in town, their prices are much, much better.

Also, while not a hotel deal, this will save you a lot of money if you go to shows: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tix4tonight.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tix4tonight.com/</a>

Despite how stupid the site looks, it's not a scam. They do ticket deals and also do food deals that are worth it. If you can, hit up Al Dente in Harrahs (I think). It was the most ridiculously good service I have ever experienced in my life for a good price and you could get a deal for it too at one of the Tix locations.

I do a destination ski trip every year, and I try to do it on the cheap (I use frequent flyer miles and hotel points). This winter we are doing Beaver Creek/Vail.

Anyway, for anyone that has been to this area, how do you get from Eagle County Airport (EGE) to Beaver Creek on the cheap? All of the transportation services I'm looking at cost an arm and a leg. But they are all private SUVs, so there is a reason for that. A taxi costs over $100. I'm looking for a bus or shuttle service/shared ride. If anyone has any incite, it would be awesome. The city bus won't work because our flights get in after it runs for the final time.

    Thanks!
    Your friendly neighborhood Frebis.

Time of year and how many people are in your "we" may factor into your decision. I go to Beaver Creek every year, and having been going to Vail valley once or twice a year for the past 30 years. (And, I lived in Vail for about 3 months.)

If you are staying in Avon or Beaver Creek, and can get a good airfare into EGE, do that. If you are staying in Vail, flying into Denver may save you a bunch of money, if that matters. But, that's where the time of year factors in. March is the biggest snow month, and early March driving from Denver to Vail valley, especially at night, can be sketchy. i.e. leave it to the expert drivers used to it and equipped with chains. You can check with Colorado Mountain Express. It's about $90 one way from Denver and about $60 one way from EGE. However, they often don't publish their actual ski season rates until September or so.

All that said, we usually rent a car (or 2 if there are more of us), because it works out much cheaper than the van ride, whether we fly into EGE or DEN. (The EGE winter / spring flight schedules are often not published until August.) Beaver Creek (Avon) is closer to EGE than Vail -- about 20 minutes from the EGE airport, and if you can land there, the weather will be fine for driving. Vail is about 20 minutes East of Beaver Creek closer to DEN, which is about 2 hours from there in decent weather.

I'm doing this with Frequent Flyer Miles, and flying to Denver will cost me the same as flying to Eagle. So I figure I will fly to Eagle and save a two hour bus ride. There will only be 3 of us going.

I'll look into renting a car. We are going in mid December. Last year we rented a car and drove from Denver to Beaver Creek, then on to Steamboat and back to Denver. The car cost around $500 (I'm looking to make this a tiny bit cheaper). The drive from Denver to beaver Creek was terrible. Top speed was roughly 30 miles an hour. I-70 shut done for a few hours, and we just had to sit and wait.

Thanks for giving me the name of the colorado mountain express.

If everyone hear could take a moment to vote for them - every day if possible - I would truly appreciate it! Take a listen and let me know what you think of their music. Information below;

I'm trying to learn German, and I've been looking into Rosetta Stone. Has anyone tried this program? Despite all the marketing and claims of government use, I've also heard that to effectively learn a language you need to really immerse yourself in it, and therefore any software program will at most give you a decent foundation. Can anyone weigh in on this for me?

Does anyone know where I can get some cheap velour tracksuits in men's sizes? Preferably in a variety of pastel colors. My google-fu is not strong enough.

Anyone know of a site that streams TV shows online (for free, obviously)?

I use <a class="postlink" href="http://www.surfthechannel.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.surfthechannel.com</a> but I'm one season deep into True Blood and the links don't seem to be working anymore.

I'm itching to watch more but I can't find anywhere to do it!

    Help?

I'm also interested in finding out about the Rosetta Stone program as I'm wanting to learn Brazilian Portuguese. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

I do have one step up from having a girlfriend who speaks it.

Make *sure* you have good AntiVirus software, and a good pop up blocker, then check out watchseries.eu. They have links to most shows, I personally try to stick to either Megavideo links (just buffer ahead to get past the 72 min time out thing), or putlocker. Wisevid isn't bad either. The actual watchseries page = gave me a virus a while back, but no issues since I put Chrome's pop up blocker on.

Here's a wisevid link for season 2, episode 1! Nothing but the Blood

Personally, I have never used it. But my neighbor's son is in the Air Force, training to be an interpreter (Arabic, imagine that). While the gov't claims they use Rosetta Stone only, that's not true. They *do* use it for 50% of the training though, and he says it helps a lot. Take that for what it's worth.
