Be careful with this, I've had a few instances where I've been caught by the 72 minute limit even when I pre-buffer and unplug my router. That shouldn't even be possible, but whatever.

I already repped this to hooker, but anyone needing to stream should look at <a class="postlink" href="http://tv-links.eu" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://tv-links.eu</a> . I've never had any malware issues with them, and the loombo links are good quality without any limit. The buffer isn't quite as good as Megavideo, but with a decent connection you'll be fine.

Does anyone have any suggestions for apartments in the Chicago area? I have a friend who is looking for an apartment out in Oak Park and River Forest at the moment who is hitting dead ends. She's looking for a 1 bedroom with a washer and dryer, and hopefully utilities included for around $950. Is she simply not going to find it? What are some other areas for her to check out? Any advice or suggestions are welcome.

    Thanks in advance.

I started the program for Latin American Spanish and it's a great home study course if you ask me. Probably the best alternative to being in a classroom, but the only reason a classroom setting could be better is interaction between other people. I spoke to my grandfather last week in almost entirely Spanish and that's after only a few months (although I had taken a Spanish class in high school I was never very good at forming proper sentences or having a lengthy conversation.)

Also if anybody can help me I have a Toshiba laptop that is currently not working. It is almost brand new and was in working condition until it was plugged in during a thunderstorm where the power was continuously going on and off. Now it wont even turn on. The power source is working and so is the HDD. I would like to know what steps can be taken to determine the damage.

Another thing I use to get around the 72 minute limit is HotSpot Shield. Sometimes you have to disconnect and reconnect a couple times because someone's already using that IP address to watch stuff on megavideo, but it's definitely worth checking out if you watch alot of shows online.

So I know a lot of people here are into poetry and I stumbled on this poem by Flora Launa and wanted to find more her stuff but can't find anything on the Internets.

Does anybody know any books or anything else she has done?

    Cheers.

I wanted to see if anyone has had this kind of problem with a landlord. My five roommates and I live in this 4 Bedroom house (2 live in one room because they're a couple, I lived in the Basement) Our basement (AKA my room) flooded somewhat during the past couple of months. I called the landlord multiple times and it took the local plumbers at least 3 times of coming and going before they finally decided to fix the problem. By Fixing the problem they had to cut the dry wall about 3 feet from the bottom on up, all around the room because of the mold. Anyways its been at least 5 weeks since they came in and cut the walls, cleaned the mold, and dried everything around in there. I am tired of calling to ask them to come do something about the same problem over and over, I've called at least 4 or 5 times about it.

I am for now living in our second living room with sheets up around the opening. Needless to say its getting old I want a room. I live in Oregon by the way so I'm not sure what the laws are for other states. I am going to write a letter so its official but I would really like to pay less rent because its been so long since I have told them about the problem and they still haven't completely fixed it.

Talk to your local landlord-tenant government office.

I have no idea about Oregon, but in BC, this kind of thing is a valid reason for withholding rent and using it to pay for the work to get done. It can typically be officially authorized/approved by the powers that be in a couple of days. They would generally send out a field-agent/inspector to validate and authorize it on the site, and then THEY will send the landlord a notice to that effect. You'd have to meet some criteria (like getting a couple of quotes and going with a reasonable one) but really, they don't have much tolerance for landlords that do that kind of shit. In extreme situations they may penalize the landlord and give you free rent for a period of time for failing to provide reasonable residency.

My Parents and I both own rentals in Oregon, as a reference. You are absolutely allowed to get the problem fixed and deduct the cost from the rent owed. Like Net said its best to get a couple of quotes and make sure you have back up. Also you can complain to the Oregon Rental Housing Association, and your local housing authority, since I'm not sure what city you live in.

Oregon has pretty strong landlord/tenant laws that protect renters in exactly this sort of situation. If you wanted to be a real dick about you wouldn't have to pay rent at all for as long as the problem existed and every judge in the state would side with you when the landlord went to evict you for non-payment.

I know it's hard/impossible to diagnose someone without seeing them, but I was wondering if anyone can help me. I've been having chest/upper back pain on the left side of my body. It also feels like there is something pressing on my chest, kinda like I have a seatbelt on. I've been having numbness in my hand/arm/fingers and tingling in my upper back around my shoulder. They initially suspected heart problems, but after an EKG came back normal and based on my age (21), they gave me a chest x-ray (normal), took blood for blood work (normal), and an MRI on my neck/spine (also normal). All the tests are coming back normal so my doctor and I are a little perplexed. Any one have any ideas/similar experiences?

It's been getting worse over the last four months. The pain has started to affect my life in negative ways. The other day I couldn't raise my left arm above my shoulder without extreme pain. A couple days ago, my arm was completely numb from the elbow down and yesterday I couldn't feel my fingers for a couple hours. I've been playing phone tag with my doctor all week. Next week I have an appointment with a pain management doctor who will hopefully give me some painkillers to help deal with the pain, but I really just want to know whats wrong so I can make it go away.

Posted this in the finance thread, but it may work better here:

Does anyone have any lending experience with peer to peer loans with places like Prosper or Lending Club? I read this article which basically says the average return of 6% or more is bull shit, but there is still good money to be made if you condition (page 4) your loans on certain criteria. Unfortunately the article is a little outdated so I was wondering if anyone had recent experience.

I'd probably only be looking to throw a grand or so on this so even if I lose it all that's ok, but I don't want to start a fight I'll probably lose.

I'd like to echo this pretty much entirely - I'd really like some advice on the same subject though with a budget of around $10 000 CDN.

Ok so, I recently posted about getting my Border Patrol job down in the South. My skin is not used to all the sun, I got a nice burn today after only an hour, and I'm in upstate NY. What can I do before I leave and while I'm down there (other than using copious amounts of sun screen) to keep my ass from looking like a lobster forever. Thanks.

I'm guessing that there's not a Common Sense part of the entrance exam. Regardless, yes use sunscreen. I'm not familiar with the attire, so I'm assuming that your uniform will consist of long pants, maybe a short-sleeved button-up shirt, a hat, and sunglasses. So, you really only need to lube up your arms, face, and neck. Don't forget to use lip balm with SPF. I might be missing something here, but I've lived in the South my whole life and it seems kind of obvious. As far as your day to day sun worries, you could always wear a Burka.

Just be sure that the uniform is UV blocking, as some shirts don't prevent sunburns at all. If not, then fill up a kiddie pool full of the stuff and go for a dip.

That's why you'll see a bunch of specialty fishing shirts with an SPF rating.

Wear long sleeved spf shirts even in the hottest of days. You will also want to make sure your hat is spf.

I have a drug test (urine) on Tuesday for an internship. I quit smoking pot about 15 days ago, now I have only worked out about 4 times since then and I have used a sauna a few times during this period as well. I used to smoke everyday until I learned I got this job offer. I am worried I will not pass the test, and I think I may need to invest in a detox kit. Maybe some kind of drink the night before the test. But after doing a little research, I'm still unsure if any of these actually work. Does anyone know which detox kit has the best chance of working? I'm pretty sure with my everyday smoking habit I still have THC in my system.

Google says that it can show up in your urine up to 30 days after you last smoked.

None of them work worth a damn for detox. These are the same bullshit snake oil as Liver cleansing detox diets. Drink a shitload of tea and it will work as well as any other cleansing product. A diuretic to make you piss a lot and a bunch of liquid intake will speed clean your sample a little, but all that matters is getting a lot of liquid into you and urinating it out. The other agents are meaningless. And even then, you're talking about no more than 5% decrease of detectable time in your blood stream assuming you are biologically human. You might concievably push that as high as 10% by sweating a bunch - but that's a massively best case scenario and incredibly unlikely.

I know lots of stoners who swear by one product or another - but the reality is that they have genetics, dumb luck, cheap testing products and maybe an abnormally high urinary rate from drinking tea with some random shit mixed in to thank for not getting caught.

If you can't allow more time to pass before the test, and you've already been drinking a shitload of tea and sweating a bunch, about the only thing left in your control to try and influence the outcome is to contaminate the sample, either with someone else's urine or with a masking agent. Masking agents that work for one testing product won't work for another - and often will false positive for something else, or show up as a positive for a masking agent. So unless you know what testing product they're using in advance, anyone who tells you they can sell you a masking agent is probably full of shit.

30 days is a myth. 2 to 15 weeks is more common in research literature.

My husband has passed 4 separate pre-employment drug tests over the years with this:

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.herbalclean.com/products/viewproduct.php?id_product=85" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.herbalclean.com/products/vie ... product=85</a>

Apparently the B12 adds color back to your urine (clear urine is supposedly something they look for). You can (or could) buy it at GNC.

He had a pop quiz for a job about 6 months ago but we didn't have enough time to order it from the net and they didn't have it at GNC (the reason why escapes me now) so he tried drinking a gallon of home brewed tea and taking OTC B12 and he failed, so there's something to the above-linked stuff.

As an aside - in my early 20's, I tried one of those little vials of crystals that you sprinkle in the cup and failed so those are most likely BS.

Just out of curiosity, why do you believe there are so few variables involved in such tests that your singular anecdotal experience should warrant a blanket judgement of one product definitely working, and one product almost assuredly being BS?
