We have a workout thread that's probably a better place to ask questions, but do what lhprop1 said. Assuming you're rather new to the game, straps are only going to deter your progress. If your hands are a weak link, they just have to get stronger. That's all.
This is what I use regularly. It doesn't seem to help. I guess time will make them stronger, and that is the only thing that will help.
Don't use straps. Grip strength, in my experience, improves faster than anything else. Two months and you'll be pulling much more weight and can start working on your body. Just keep going.
Save the .torrent file to your desktop. Hold down Shift, and right click it. Select Open with, and select Choose default program... Select uTorrent, or if that's not there, click Browse... and go to your Program Files directory and select the uTorrent executable. Bam. Done.
Sorta. Windows maintains a database of file type associations. So it knows that when you opt to 'open' something, be it a .torrent file or the internet or email or an mp3 - it will launch the appropriate program and pass it an instruction to open whatever you were looking at. If one program isn't recognizing an association, normally you open something with the correct program using the method described and it fixes it. It might ask if you want to make utorrent the default program for torrents and you'd say yes and everything would be shiny. If you have multiple programs failing to recognize the associated program - you should head over to the tech help thread and go through it to figure out what's up. Because if it's not fixing itself and it's impacting multiple programs - that's going to get fucking annoying really fast.
I've been looking for a cheap apartment in Brooklyn for a little bit, and I haven't been having too much success. Does anybody know anyone that might be able to help me out?
Having a luau bday this year and need some help in the food dept. Looking for some recipes that don't require a whole pig or some gourmet shit with six dozen ingredients 23 different steps. Something quick, easy and preferable that I can grill/smoke. A Mai Tai recipe that I can make by the pitcher would be helpful also Thanks
Call your local butcher/meat locker. Most hog roasts around here have the hog deboned, netted, and they smoke it that way, as opposed to a kill & chill where you get the whole (or half) hog. Think of just big hunks of meat in a net like you see hams in. Really kind of depends on how many people you're going to have, you can also just smoke pork tenderloins, Boston butts, etc., as well. Quick, no, good, yes. Cheating way to do it if you go with big hunks, think of something like a Boston butt (8-10 lbs). Cook in the oven on 200-250 for 6-7 hours the day before. Throw in your smoker for another hour or two the day of the shindig to get that smoked flavor. Your call on injecting or not, if you have a hog prepared for ya, they'll probably offer to go ahead & do it for you. Personally, if you're going with whole or half hog, or even a Boston butt, I'd say inject, tenderloins don't need it as much in my opinion. You would probably want to use a rub on it, your butcher probably has one he can recommend. Gallon pitcher: 16 ounces of Dark Rum 8 ounces of Light Rum 8 ounces of Triple Sec 32 ounces of Orange Juice (low to no pulp) 32 ounces of Pineapple Juice 24 ounces of Sweet 'n Sour mix 8 ounces of Grenadine
This is a little long so please bear with me and please help if you can with advice. My wife has a 2005 Subaru Forester. Recently the car was making strange noises when she started the car and the air was on. It was a brief sound and didn't happen if the air was off or the car was on for more than a few minutes. We thought she might either have a problem with the air conditioner or the serpentine belts. Well, we had one friend look at the belts and said they looked fine and he thought it might be what we thought as well. He told us to just drive it and get it checked out or fixed sometime in the near future when we could. Didn't think anything was in immediate danger. About a week later, about 1/4 mile from home, the two serpentine belts shredded. Thankfully she was close to home. Her air stopped and the battery light came as expected. She was able to just drive right into the garage here. So, now we're thinking that it was just at least one bad belt and it broke and took the other one with it as they both wrap around the harmonic balancer and if one goes, I'd assume the other would be taken with it. I go to the store, buy new belts and put them on. I've only replaced a serpentine belt on my Toyota Corolla and that was stupidly easy. This has at least tension bolts. Still easy though. I replace them, tighten them to 1/4" give. Everything is perfect. I turn the car on and go look and one of the belts is half off. I turn off the engine really quick. Maybe I didn't tighten things well enough. I do it again. This time the inner belt comes off on the inside and is ruined. I don't have much experience except in changing oil and basic basic maintenance. I looked closer this time and the harmonic balancer is no longer tight and has ground a little bit into the timing belt plastic cover and that is what pulled the belt off the back. Now, I had a different mechanic friend come over and he said that I didn't damage anything except it ground into the plastic cover a bit, but who cares. I just need to get a new harmonic balancer and the one new belt as the other wasn't damaged. I know there are some serious auto experts on here. Can that part just break? He's never seen one break on a Subaru, but has seen it on many other cars. Is there a chance that there is a bigger problem going on that caused that balancer to break? He said no, but getting other opinions is good. He's got a lot of experience, but I'm just a little nervous and like to be as informed as possible. Any info or insight would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to call the dealer and some stores and other shops tomorrow to get info and pricing on the part. He said he'd put it on for me if I got the part. It seems to only be 75-100 for the part. I just want to make sure this is all I probably really need to do. Thanks.
Anyone have any clue what what cause this? Yesterday morning I was doing my normal routine. I'd been up for about half an hour and was seated in front of the computer. I hadn't eaten anything, had taken my morning medication and supplements (consisting of 25mg dexamphetamine and two B complex) and was sipping on water with zinc solution, mixed with cordial to taste. I take these every morning and have been doing exactly this for about a month. I had a sudden onset of a burning sensation on my face, back of the neck and ears. I ignored it, but it started to spread. After a couple of minutes it had spread to my upper chest and arms, where it stopped spreading. It looked like I had a bad sunburn and felt like I'd had a mild acid bath. My head, shoulders, upper chest and upper forearms were solid red; except for immediately around my eyes and most of the scalp within my hairline. It felt hot, but there was zero perspiration on my body. There were no other symptoms. Within about 15 minutes it disappeared, and everything went back to normal. All up, the whole thing came and went in about 30-45 minutes. And it's got me stumped as to what the hell happened.
I have an Anime themed party to attend at short notice. It's a costume required deal. I'm considering costumes for tall bald and lazy - but the only thing I've come up with so far is Agent 47 from Hitman. Anything more obvious/immediately recognizable/plausible for a fat guy? My only alternative thought so far is yellow face paint and pac man. The girl I'm going with is going as Mini Mouse, and is suggesting a Mickey costume for me. I'm dubious about matching costumes. It seems like a dangerously short step from there to velour jump suits for the farmers market.
Get a martial arts suit or some beach wear with a false beard and get your Mister Roshi on. Other than that, I can't think of anything.
Vitamin B-3, sometimes called Niacin, or prescription strength is Niaspan can cause flushing. I take Niaspan to help keep my good cholesterol number high and every once in a while I get flushing. It happens more with OTC Niacin. Your B complex pill most likely contains Niacin/B-3 so this is probably what happened. It's most likely a low dose but it's still possible to get the flushing with the complex pills. It's not a big deal and goes away either in minutes or at most 15. The best solution is to make sure you drink a glass of water before or with the pill. Seems to help.
I was rear-ended today. Not my fault, and I have a police report to back that up. The guy that hit me was an OTB Ukrainian dude who didn't speak much English - he didn't get why I wanted a police report but did wait around till they showed up and took everything down. Right after he hit me, he hopped out of his car and started offering cash, as he didn't want to involve insurance or the police. I figure there's a chance he was just trying to get out of paying anything, but now that I have a police report with his name, address, insurance info, etc., is it totally crazy to let him pay for the damages on his own if he wants to? Or is that taking a big risk rather than going through our insurers? It's funny, typing this out I've pretty much realized it's stupid to try to let him pay for it. I also left a message with my insurance adjuster/salesperson to ask him what I should do anyway, but whatever, you can all red dot me for my stupid if it's that egregious.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable butts in on the what you should do side, but him wanting to pay for the fix out of pocket is very rational, he'd probably rather pay for the actual accident than the increased insurance premiums.
When the body shop finds more damage that couldn't be seen on the initial estimate, how will you get more money out of the guy? Just let your insurance company handle it with his company. You don't owe him anything - he owes you - and that's why you pay for insurance in the first place.
I had a gentleman want to pay me out of pocket when he rear-ended me. The stipulation was I made him come with me to the body shop, and hand over his credit card information to them before any work was ever done, and made it clear he was paying for it all, with the body shop. That way you never handle the money, which can makes things much easier if he decides argue over it. I also informed my insurance company of the accident, and filed a police report, so if it went sideways and he tried not to pay, I'd still have a paper trail of everything that happened and could claim with his. Oh, and I also made sure the body shop was an insurance approved shop, as they only seems to like to use a handful of different shops where I am. Maybe due to the costs? I don't really know why.
Some people are drivers by trade and if they have an accident on their driving record, they may lose their job. That could be why he's trying to pay out of pocket. How bad is your car?
