Has anyone tried Spotify, the music service? I don't have an invite but am considering paying the $4.99 to get the unlimited version. Is it worth it or should I just wait for an invite?
Super long shot: If anyone has experience with cardiology or endocrinology, can you shoot me a PM? I'm getting desperate.
Anyone know of a good fogless shower mirror (for shaving in the shower) that works? I've tried two, one kept falling down, 1 kept fogging up. I don't really want to spend any more cash on another that won't work.
I've got one very similar to this, except it has a larger rounded shelf at the bottom for holding a can of shaving cream. It was about the same price and I'm pretty sure it came from Bed Bath & Beyond, too. (maybe Target) But, it doesn't really matter which one, as long as it has these features: - real mirror (not the shiny metal thing, but an actual mirror) - 4 or more suction cups Here are the tricks: I went through several, like you before I figured these out. First, before you apply the suction cups, make sure the surface is clean and dry. (like clean with tile cleaner or 409, not just wiped off) Once it's dry, moisten the suction cups and push them on hard. For the mirror, before you shave, wipe a little bar soap suds across the glass and then splash it off. This will keep it fog free for the duration of your shave, regardless of whatever fog-free "technology" the mirror claims. (All of the coatings or whatever fail after awhile, and I always thought the kind that had hot water running through them either were too expensive or couldn't be position where I wanted it.) You can also wipe a thin film of shampoo on the glass instead of soap, before splashing it off, but I've found the soap works better. I went into so much detail, because shaving in the shower saves me a lot of time and splashed water from the sink method. I also tend to rush more at the sink because I'm always running late, and it saves me careless nicks. So, just passing on a way for everyone to improve their life by learning the power of shaving in the shower.
My brother bought all his groomsman custom flasks ( Small ones mind you) and gave them to each groomsman. He filled them all with whisky. I thought it was a perfect gift, and enjoyed both of them at the wedding.
I'm looking to take my girlfriend skydiving for her birthday this year and I had a couple questions I was hoping some of you idiots could help me with. How much should I be expecting to pay for a tandem freefall for 2 people? Is getting a video worth it or should I just skip it? Finally, does anyone know any good dropzones in the Atlanta, Greenville, Charlotte area? PM or rep works, thank in advance.
I don't know about a better gift, but there is a world of difference between Red and Black Label. Black Label is a fine scotch, very drinkable. Red is horrible horrible pisswater I would only give to someone I hated. Seriously. Don't buy Red. Ever.
I'm looking to sell my car. It's Kelley Blue Book value is right around $3,250 but I'm willing to take around $2,000 for it. Any tips or advice on how to quickly sell my car?
I recently interviewed for a new job but didn't receive an offer. My interviewer did, however, encourage me to apply for another open position within his department, but he will not be in charge of hiring for this new position. Instead, it will be one of his assistants. He told me, unfortunately, that I would have to reapply to the new position because they will not use the applicant pool from the position I was rejected from. This assistant and I graduated from college together (the job is at the school), she and I were coworkers together as students, and we were colloquial when on the job together or if we ever saw each other at parties or bars (she's also a solid acquaintance with my ex, but that's not terribly important). I'm 99% certain that if I had this position, this girl would be my supervisor, which creates a bit of an odd dynamic. My question is should I write a cover letter in a "hey, you know me" kind of tone while still demonstrating my qualifications for the job or should my cover letter be as if she and I have never met, like most cover letters are?
Never assume who will be reading your cover letter. Don't write it to one person, write it like any other cover letter.
Cover letters are routinely shown to several people, not just the reviewing party. Make it professional and suitable for anyone in the business who might have an interest. If you want to remind her that you're an acquaintance, find out her direct email or call her or something and let her know privately, on a personal level, that you're her good buddy who she should totally hire, but keep the cover letter suitable for her to show her boss or her peers or future bosses when justifying the decision to hire you.
A non-important request. I've got a DVR, recorded the last season of Rescue Me, forgot I had the first episode, saw it when episode 2 was being recorded 'tomorrow'. Because I'm an idiot, waited and episode 1 was deleted, avoided the rest like the plague. Posted in that unpopular thread, and here for sheer population. Tl;dr tell me where to watch Rescue Me on the Internet.

Planning a trip to New Zealand from Toronto for March of next year and wondering if I should book now or hold out till the fall or even later? I've got one flight with one stop over in LA right now that is $1850 all in and just wondering if I should book that or wait longer? D
This is a long shot, but it'd be helpful. For something work related, I'd like to know what blogs were saying about Company X and Company Y between a set of dates. This is in addition to traditional news searches I'm already doing. Is there a systematic way of going about this? The problem is further clouded by the fact that the companies are in a semi-obscure electronic industry, and thus aren't "sexy" to blog about. So they rarely turn up on mainstream blogs like TechCrunch. Any ideas would be appreciated.
I'm interested if anyone here has any experience with placing an ad on craigslist with regard to "casual encounters" of the intimate nature. PMs would be appreciated. If you know of anyone who has had an experience, that would be great too. I have a couple of friends' experiences to draw from but I'm looking for a few more. Thanks!
My friend set up a bone marrow testing event at my school a few months back and I just got a call that im a match. I've looked online but don't always trust everything there and wanted to know more about the risks associated with donation from someone more intelligent than me.
I was called as a bone marrow match and went through all of the preliminary process but never actually donated because the recipient died. I did quite a bit of research and it seems like there aren't many risks beyond the normal risks of surgery. Depending on the doctor, they may do either a spinal block or general anesthesia, each of which has risks though I preferred the block. There's the usual risks of infection and clotting, as well. The recovery is supposed to be fairly quick and not particularly painful. Before all that, you'll have to go for some more thorough blood testing and a general physical. I felt like it was worth the risk, but that's entirely up to you. The people at the donor registry were very upfront about the risks and were helpful an answering any questions.
I have a "Offensive T-Shirt" bday party to go to and was thinking of a Casey Anthony pic and the words "I got 99 problems but a kid ain't one" or something along those lines. While I know its supposed to be offensive, I don't want a drink thrown in my face or anything from someone who isn't with the bday group. Is it too soon? Any other ideas? My sister in law can make me just about anything as long as it isn't too picture or graphic heavy.
