Hobby Lobby often has 30% off total purchase coupons pretty often. I would keep an eye out for that, unless you're itching to frame it tomorrow.
Any plumbers here that can give me a rough estimate what it would cost to add a shower head to this bathroom? (I'll put the surround in, just need the pipe through the wall with a stub on it) And no, that's not my make up and hair products.
Has anyone ever done the move out west, ski-lifestyle thing? I'm sick of my (shitty, low responsibility, but I guess career-oriented) job, and if I don't find something else to do soon, I think I'd like to dedicate a full season to skiing. I've looked around and found some all right, but vague info, and thought it might help to ask here too. It's been a daydream of mine for a while, but I'd like to think about it more seriously. My thought is that, at 23-24, it's much easier to do than it would be further down the line. If it helps, I've saved a pretty good bit of cash over the past year, and spent a couple years in college waiting tables, so getting a restaurant job shouldn't be a stretch (I figure those would work well - correct me if I am wrong). Basically, I would like any advice, from best ski towns, jobs, what date I need to be out there to find a job/place, miscellaneous tips, you name it - I'm interested.
A friend of mine spent a winter in Colorado working as a ski instructor and just left to go back out there for another winter. From what I heard when I visited him out there, some places have condos near or on the mountain and will give you a big break on rent if you're working at the mountain. Not to mention (at least at Copper) free season passes, employee discounts, etc. I'm not sure what perks they would extend if you were working at a restaurant/bar at the mountain, but I'd imagine they're at least similar. Shoot me a PM if you have any questions and if you want I can pass on his contact info once I figure out where the hell he's living out there.
Does anybody know how to update the maps on a Garmin GPS device (Nuvi 260W to be exact) without having to pay $90? I don't know why, but it pisses me off royally that they don't just give those to you for free.
Not sure if we can post law questions here.... But.... I live in Washington state and was wondering if there were any lawyers on the board familiar with estate law, specifically dying without a will. If a child predeceases his folks, it appears that the estate gets split 50/50 to the surviving parents. For my purposes, the heirship doesn't need to go any further. My question is, is there any way, absent a will, that one of the parents can not get their share? The parent in question bailed on his kids when they were 4 and 7, didn't show up for his child's funeral, and is a raging alcoholic among many other charming qualities. We will be meeting with a lawyer, but I'm interested in doing the research myself. Everything I've found leads me to the 50/50 split, but I was wondering if searching through court decisions somewhere might yield something interesting... Or maybe I just need to accept the fact that this fucking scumbag just came into a good amount of money.
Looking for an acne scar removal product that works. Specifically for back scars. No active acne, just small red/brown scars from prior acne development. We've tried sallycic acid products and body wash, benzoyl peroxide creams and pronexin. Any tips appreciated.
Does anyone know a place to find soap opera torrents? Namely General Hospital? The usual public places don't seem to get the new episodes every day.
One of my part-time employees came to me today and said things had taken a turn for the worse in her divorce. She said her ex took all the TVs in the house and had been violent before with her but never hit her. She hasn't yet got a restraining order, but seeing her attorney next week might be the next step. Cops say she has nothing to charge him with until he actually becomes physically violent. She just wanted to apologize in advance if he came to the office. FUCK ME, this is not the way I want to die. I don't want some lunatic shitcrazed divorcee mowing me down with his hunting rifle. Should I fire her, get a gun, and go to the range?
Firing her might somehow open you up to a lawsuit, or at the very least expose you to an angry woman going through some very difficult emotional and financial times (ooh, maybe the divorcé and divorcée will show up at the same time, and just shoot each other!). If you're seriously concerned for your safety, get a camera system to watch the lobby and/or parking lot, then get a firearm and training for it. The cameras would prove useful if he shows up without a gun, but is threatening or menacing, and would serve as evidence if he tried to make the situation uglier and you were forced to act in self-defense.
I have no experience in sales aside from retail. Would attending a 2 day sales seminar make me any more attractive to potential employers? The only reason I am on the fence about going is because it is almost $500 to attend.
Some asshat managed to hack my facebook and change the password. Unfortunately, my account is still linked to my old university email addy that is now defunct, so I'm unable to change it back without waiting on facebook to respond to my request. Has anyone gone through this or can give me some tips on how I can speed up the process? I'd really like to know how they hacked it too.
I'm moving to Toronto in 2 weeks and need to find a place to live. So far I've been using kijiji, craigslist, viewit.ca and realtors.ca to find something but any more online sources or even personal references would be greatly appreciated.
For all you web developers etc out there, I have two questions: I have been working on an idea for a while to start a small iPod audio tour business online. I've gotten to the point where I'm starting to think about the technical sides of creating and running the website. The basics of what I had in mind was to have the homepage be a blog (with a sidebar making it clear it's first and foremost an ecommerce site) with a navigation bar (obviously), a page where you can download the tours, and one or two more pages with just text that will always be the same. Since I'll be using it regularly for the blogging aspect, I'd like the administrative side to be pretty simple to use, and if I need to make little changes here and there that I could hopefully do it myself. The platforms I have experience with are Wordpress and Joomla, but I've never built a website myself. So: 1. If I were to put an ad on, say, Craigslist, offering a one-time gig to a freelancer for what I described, what's a range of what I should offer as pay? Is there software I'd need to buy too? (I am completely oblivious as to what it takes to build a website.) 2. Do you know of any "make your own website" sites or programs that are easy to use, don't look like crap, could make what I'm looking for, and aren't too expensive (or maybe even free)? Thank you!
A friend of mine will be in Vegas for her 30th birthday. I want to send something to her hotel - flowers are the default option - but there has to be something better in vegas. Strip-o-gram. Dancing bear. Willing to up to $300 for something good - but not positive that I'll be able to get a time locked down for when she'll be in her room - ideas or suggestions? Have 5 weeks to line it up.
I wanna do something creative with my esky/ice-cooler at an upcoming BBQ. My friend once had a canoe which he filled up with ice and used. Has anyone done anything similar before and could share some ideas?
Can anybody comment on being a former AutoCAD user and switching to ProgeCAD? Is it a dog, or is it worth saving $5000?
If you use a canoe it takes a lot of ice, take some plywood to keep all of the ice in the center so that you aren't spending a ton. Other ideas, I've used a wheelbarrow and the tried and true baby pool.
$300 worth of Domino's pizzas. Delivered one at a time. In 15 minute increments. Starting at 3:00 am. Or, you could arrange for the hotel to have a bottle of bubbly delivered to her room when she checks in. Eliminates the time problem and gives her something to pregame with. But I'd do the pizza thing.
