I'm pretty sure it fades to black, which will be a letdown to all the male fans of the series hoping to get a better look at Edward.
Not sure what it is called, but I had one break as well, Called up the maker of the blinds, mine was Hunter Douglas and they sent out a few of them to me for free.
Ok when it rains it pours... I'm looking for some kind of plastic filler compound or foam that will dry hard enough to drill into. I blew a speaker in the custom assembly of my car and had to break some plastic tabs to get the old speaker out. I'd like to fill the holes with something that will be able to hold a screw and a new speaker... See pic.
When I wrecked my motorcycle, I was able to use an epoxy to fill holes, cracks, etc. The epoxy was strong enough to be drilled and held just fine when riding. Here's some examples: http://www.loctiteproducts.com/epoxies.shtml
Yea, i sell loctite products at the store. They are great. If you get a 1min epoxy, it really means 1 minute till it is not workable. Another great product is http://jbweld.net/products/jbkwik.php i have seen that product do amazing things. Some clients say they have fixed cracked heads on the diesel motors in the middle of no were and it got them home, and got another season out of it.
JB Weld is pretty awesome. It's a variety of epoxy, but it's definitely not the same as some of the other brands. If you use it (or any epoxy), just because it's hard doesn't mean you should start drilling. Give it at least 48 hours to cure before you take the drill to it.
When asked what I wanted for Christmas, I struggled to come up w/ anything other than an iPad. For people who own tablets: how often do you actually use them, and do you have any thoughts on iPad vs. Kindle Fire vs. B&N Nook? I already own a Macbook (fair old. 4 years-ish, slower than ideal) and a Kindle.
I got my tungsten carbide ring from titaniumkay.com, and it's really nice. I will say, however, that my experience with titanium and tungsten rings is that they tend to run larger than the normal rings. So, if you're a 9, order an 8.5.
Here's another vote for JB Weld ($5 miracle). I use it frequently in my shop. As long as you mix it up twice as long as you think is necessary, clean the shit out of the plastic before it sees any epoxy, and use some tape or cardboard to back what you need to fill up it should be an easy fix (because it has the consistency of cold honey and will flow). Keeping it very warm while it cures makes it even stronger (I use heat lamps) and don't be impatient. Looks like that thing you need to fix may be plastic... be positive you can create a mechanical lock because I've had issues bonding various epoxies with plastics because of mold release (silicone) mixed into the plastic and shedding anything once it cures, regardless of prep work.
I'm not sure if this should be here or in the finance thread... I can't find anything about this online. This deals with Best Buy financing- I have a super big TV I got from best buy with 0% financing (on best buy credit card) for 18 months. My girlfriend wants an IPad 2 for christmas. Which I see I can get 12 months 0% financing on the best buy credit card. Has anyone ever done this? For some reason I have a feeling they will fuck me over on interest because the balance of the financing is bigger than it was last month (because of added $500 from Ipad) . The more I type this, the more I see I should probably just buck up and pay cash no matter how tempting 0% is.
I want to get a record player. I know nothing about record players, new or old. I have a receiver and speakers, so I don't necessarily need a whole record player/speaker combo, but I also don't know what is better, or what brands to look for/avoid. I need help. Thanks!
For stereo systems, I know Pioneer and Sony make good ones. For a DJ-style turntable, Technics (the flagship is the Technic 1200), Stanton, and NuMark have always been my favourites because they are incredibly well-built. Get a "direct drive" turntable, and not a "belt drive". They last longer for the few extra bucks and play better.
I want to remove the DRM from all my itunes downloaded music, so I can give it to a friend who recently had their computer die. The problem is, I have 15 000 songs and they itunes music is mixed in with the regular mp3s. To top it off, the itunes downloads are from 3 different accounts, which makes it even more annoying. Can anyone recommend a program that will remove the DRM, or convert them all to mp3s that is easy to use with that many songs?
I did this with a computer from best buy and I didn't get charged any interest. However, they originally told me I could pay that fee in any form so long as it was covered within the time period. They later sent me a notice saying there was minimum monthly fee, or I would be charged penalties. This wasn't really an issue since the fee was low, and I didn't need anything close to 18 months anyway, but it was pretty clear they were hoping to make extra cash on people who were sloppy with their bills. So I would be surprised if you got fucked over having to pay any interest unless you somehow couldn't meet the requirements of the time period.
I have a couple winter hats that need to be cleaned. They are hand-wash only. I have never hand-washed something. I looked it up and got this: Garment may be laundered through the use of water, detergent or soap and gentle hand manipulation. So do I fill a bowl with warm/cold water and put a little detergent in? What is gentle hand manipulation, do I jerk it off? It also says dry flat. So do I just pull it soaking wet out of the water and lay it down? Help.
Put water in some kind of container. Apply some kind of laundry detergent to the hat where it's dirty. Rub the detergent in. Rub water into the hats until the detergent and visible dirt comes out. Rinse the hat. Lay the hat flat on some kind of surface that won't be damaged by water, preferably where water can drain away and air movement will occur to facillitate the drying process. Pursue marriage at the earliest convenience. Consider any woman who doesn't pull mace. Consider just how delicate the hats are, you may want to try a test patch (somewhere that won't show while you're wearing the hat) for applying the detergent first to ensure that you don't damage the colour of the hat. You might alternately want something like a gentle/wool specific laundry detergent if the hats are particularly delicate. You might alternately want to just go buy a delicates bag (the kind wimmin folk wash their undergarmets in) and throw your hats in that, and put them through the washing machine on a gentle or handwash cycle if your machine has those settings.
Get some Woolite, and follow the directions on it. It's a very gentle detergent that won't fuck your hats up. And yes, just take some of the detergent, pour it into a bowl (or sink), and gently agitate it. Press it inside a bath towel to get most of the liquid out, and then lay flat.
If any attorneys on the board have any experience with wrongful termination, could they please pm me? I have a situation I'd like to bounce off you.
