I disabled all text messaging on my phone because the company (T-Mobile, if it makes a difference) started charging me 20 cents per message. However, people who still try to text me don't get any notification, so they end up thinking that I'm ignoring them. By now, most people know I can't get texts, but it was awkward for a little while. It's possible that your friend has done the same thing, and his carrier is more polite about letting others know.
Several months back on the old TMMB, there was a thread in the idiot board where someone mentions a special pattern of sleeping. It was discussed, but not extensively. The gist of it was that you nap multiple times throughout the day, and the end result is that you are able to fall deeply asleep quickly and therefore end up sleeping less throughout the day. In this little discussion, a link was posted to the blog of a man who tried this and recorded his experiences. I'm trying to find the name of this special circadian rhythm, and the link to his blog. Thanks in advance!
Polyphasic sleep, specifically the Uberman or Everyman cycle. I believe the blog was about the Uberman sleep cycle. edit: I think the blog was one of these two: http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2005/1 ... sic-sleep/ http://www.kuro5hin.org/story/2002/4/15/103358/720 more likely the first one
A couple years ago there was a show on BBC called "Swingers" (I am 95% sure that's what it was called). It was a sketch comedy show, and I've had no luck finding it. Obviously, when I used the Google machine and searched "Swingers" it did not come up with the specific desired result. The upside is that now me and the missus have dinner plans with brand new friends this weekend! Any help would be appreciated.
Are you thinking of "Swinging" on five network? http://www2.five.tv/programmes/swinging/ BBC had one called "Spoons" but the consensus is that it sucked, and was cancelled.
Does anyone have experience using a helmet camera for snowmobile/dirt bike/ATV? Any ideas on what to look for and how big of a quality difference is there between prices? Thanks.
When we were younger we used to think it was cool to get a helmet view of us ripping it up on dirtbikes, I see you have reached this stage, and i do not blame you one bit. What we did, low budget was take just a crappy camcorder, and attacked it to the left side of the helmet. At first we used tape, but there are clips that you can buy that can attach to an atv or dirtbike helmet that you can then buy another clip that would attach to the camera.
Search for "lipstick camera" on ebay. There are a whole lot of tiny digital video cameras that you can easily attach to a helmet or bike or sled. They're mostly cheap enough that it won't be too bad if you destroy one. Even the cheaper ones will give you quality that's good enough for youtube-type videos.
These guys are great. http://www.goprocamera.com We use them on our race cars, go-garts, etc. Not sure what your budget is, but they rock. The only thing that really sucks is the battery life... you're lucky to get 45-60 minutes out of a set.
I'm gonna be making a lot of 1 - 1.5 hr trips throughout the winter season so to make them go by faster I decided to start bringing my laptop along for the rides. Because my laptop is a giant it doesn't have a long lasting battery, so the next step in this operation is to get a DC/AC car converter that feeds off a cigarette lighter. I have virtually no experience with this kind of thing, nor do I know much about electricity in terms of appliances and devices. I DO know what it is like to have a dead car battery in the parking lot of a Pennsylvania ski resort on a -30 day, and I want to avoid that at all costs. Having said that, I found this gem, http://www.safemart.com/Power-Supplies-Converters/300-Watts-Power-Supply-Inverter-CCTV-2794.htm online and to me it sounds like a pretty decent deal. Can anyone give their opinion on what I'm about to do and whether it'll work or not. My car is an older model (1997) and my laptop is a newer model (HP Pavilion). Thanks in advance.
That'll work just fine. We use one of those to power a laptop and monitor when we do our autocrosses.
Can someone help me with a site that has all the wrestling moves, descriptions and possibly videos all on one site? If this does exist I would be most greatful.
My mom is looking to buy her boyfriend a telescope for Christmas. I've heard there are some pretty sweet ones out these days with GPS. I was wondering if anyone has experience with them or could give some recommendations. She's looking to spend 400-500. Thanks!

Good question. And like most good questions, the answer lies hidden somewhere in the episodes of Seinfeld. I cannot tell you where the journey will take you, but this should be where your quest for truth begins:
