My son is about to turn 8 and LOVES geography. I've been trying to get him money (like coins, the small stuff, nothing major) from every country we can.

Is anyone willing to get me currency from their country? I can paypal you some cash to cover exchange and shipping. He has coins from Panama, Columbia, the Cayman Islands, Costa Rica and Canada. I know we have lots of international members here, I would love to get him stuff from all over.

Thanks, everyone!

If it is a classic ipod then there are tutorials on extracting the songs off of it onto your new computer. Or you could just transfer the music from your old computer to the new one if that is a possibility. I have a first gen Itouch and last I check, it's been a while, no one has bothered cracking the extracting problem for it. If you don't have your old computer I think it'd just be easier to redownload all of your old music via torrents and such. Upload the music to itunes and recreate the list that way. There is probably some tricks to make it easier others might know or googling will.

I can't find help anywhere.

I have a Nano that I got in 2008. I put a bunch of songs onto it and didn't do anything to my itunes since then. I plugged it into my fancy new computer here and I can't do anything with my playlists that are currently on my ipod. They are all gray and I can't highlight any of the songs to move them, delete them, create new folders, etc. What do I have to do to be able to organize those?

Also, I just downloaded a bunch of CD's and they're on my itunes playlist, but they're not showing up on my ipod. How the fuck do I get them on there?

Sorry, but I'm an absolute fucking retread when it comes to computer stuff. I'm only good at lifting stuff, hitting people, shooting stuff, and catching fish.

Did you transfer your iTunes library computer-to-computer, or iPod to computer? And did you "register" your iPod to the new computer? If you did, check your sync settings in iTunes on the computer.

Normally, I want to keep work and this place as separate as possible, but we've got an event coming up this weekend and we still have a bunch of tickets to sell, so I figured I'd toss it up on here.

If you like great oysters and great beer and you're in the CT, MA, NY, RI area, the oyster company I manage is having an event at Max Fish in Glastonbury, CT (a really good seafood restaurant) this Saturday, 3/31, from 2-4pm along with Blue Point Brewery. $35 gets you a dozen oysters and two beers (your choice of BP's Toasted Lager or their new White IPA--which they're debuting at this event).

Here's a link to the ticket purchase page. The promo flyer is spoilered below.

If oysters/beer aren't your thing, but you know someone who might be interested, please spread the word. If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Thanks, guys.

I got scammed on craigslist.

I filed a police report and will be taking this guy to small claims court to get my money back. However, I do not have his real name. My google-fu is good and I was able to get what I THINK is the guy's name, but I need to know for sure before I start filling out paperwork.

The dude is in his mid 30s, brown hair, medium build and height. I have his address (where I picked up the item. He treated the place as his home so I am going to assume that it is) and his cell phone number. Based on what I've looked up so far, I think that he is a person by a certain name who rents the property.

If anyone has legal access to records that I do not, or is a better google-fu'er, or ANYTHING, let me know. Thanks!

Anyone in the NYC area want two tickets to the NIT championship tonight?

My friend got them for free and she's trying to get rid of them. Figured I'd also offer 'em up here

Posting this in two places, hoping for a good idea:

Anyone know of a good heating pad brand? I'm talking one that gets hotter than the sun with no auto shutoff. I fucked up my lower back, and when I'm in my physio's office he has me lay on one for about 15 minutes that is FANTASTIC; none of the cheap Walmart ones come close.

Suggestions?

When I go golfing I buy big bags of random golf balls since I am going to lose a lot of them anyways. A few of them are labeled as "practice" balls. Whats the difference between a normal and a practice ball?

Normally it's just a cosmetic error, such as a blemish with paint or text. Sometimes it can be that there is a physical difference in a practice ball to a normal ball, and there could be a slight performance gap between the two although it won't be much. If a practice ball has a fault that isn't just cosmetic, it isn't going to be a big enough fault that it's noticeable in your play/score.

My girlfriend (soon to be fiancee) plans to move in with me in the summer. By that time, we will have been in a long distance relationship for nearly a year. She's a special education teacher and job openings in that field around where I live are not plentiful at the moment. I learned a couple days ago that my office will be adding 18 new positions and will interview for all of them in the next few months. While these positions will not be teaching positions, I think she will still be qualified for a few of them. Is there a delicate way I should go about informing the interviewers that she will be applying? I don't want to pressure them in case she isn't hired or selected for an interview. Thank you.

Does anyone know the most reliable way to perform a reverse look up on a cell phone number?

I'm just seeing pages and pages of shady shit. My google-fu is failing.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone have the name and access to reliable research databases? I always used Proquest when I was in university, but obviously I'd need to be registered as a student somewhere with the school's access and password.

Any other ideas? I'm looking for free, peer-reviewed articles on a broad range of topics.

The library databases were free and open to the public when I was there. Sometimes I'd have to put in my student ID number to get access to certain articles, but you can PM me if you want that. http://www.southalabama.edu/library.html

I'm looking for a camera I can mount on the handlebars of my road cycling bike, partly to film my shenanigans and partly to get license plate numbers of people who try to kill me (it happens)
Anyone got any cameras they can reccomend? Cheap, and handlebar mounts are the biggest priority, but I'd like decent enough quality out of it too, and if the battery conks out at the 30 minute mark that'd be inconvenient as well.
