Joe Rogan touts his Kale shake pretty hard, apparently Kevin James lost 60-70 lbs and was drinking them every day. I tried it out today and it was actually not unappealing. Not OWWWW GAAWD HEAVAN!!!1! But it was palatable and healthy. Also I feel with some slight additions it could be very fucking good. cucumber- half apple or pear celery stick small hunk of ginger kale leaf Blend! Rogan calls the drink Hulk Loads but I am going to try throwing in some mango or a strawberry or two and see if it doesn't turn it up a notch. I might try a dash of milk too just to get it a little more liquidy. I think ten bucks could get you a weeks worth of a drink a day.
HELP!!!! Anyone familiar with Garageband on Apple? I am having a hell of a time getting my guitar to produce sound. I went under preferences, changed to 'input/line in' - I went into garageband, changed preferences to 'input/line in' I hooked up the guitar. Nothing. I am using a 1/4" to 1/8" adapter to go into the back of my imac. It is a mono to stereo adapter, but that shouldn't matter. Feel free to PM me. Thanks a bunch!
You probably have to be record enabled to hear it. That, or you have to turn on monitoring, look in the preferences somewhere.
You do, and I had both set properly. The monitoring, whether you had it on or off, would not affect the recording, I just wouldn't be able to hear myself while recording. I get no signal at all registering.
I feel slightly ridiculous posting this, but I could use some assistance from all of you clothes whores - err, I mean, connoisseurs. I know there's a few of you on here. Any and all advice, pointers, etc. are very welcome. Sometime within the next few weeks or so, I plan on going out and revamping my wardrobe, starting from scratch. I'm talking about dropping a couple hundred bucks or so and putting together some items that are comfortable and look good. I don't care one iota about fashion what's "in," but I definitely need to start dressing more respectable. To give a little background about how clueless I am when it comes to clothes, I have not bought new clothes in about 6 years (I'm not kidding), and about 90% of my day-to-day attire is no longer well-suited for a 23-year-old man. My typical attire (for hanging out with friends, going out in public, etc.) is plain, cotton polo shirts and adidas/Nike trackpants, with sneakers. That definitely needs to stop. I'm not completely incapable of dressing myself or picking shit out, but are there any rules of thumb I should keep in mind while shopping for clothes? Are there any particular dos and don'ts regarding colors, patterns, or materials? Would I be wise to put a premium on certain items and invest extra money into them, such as a high-quality pair of shoes? Last night at Kohl's, I bought a couple of Van Heusen crew neck shirts on a whim, simply because they were 40% off and VERY comfortable. I consider it a step in the right direction. If I added a great pair of jeans and black shoes, I'd look like some lucky lady's hot date.
I generally keep it pretty simple when it comes to jeans/tshirt combinations. The vast majority of my friends wear nice collared shirts if we've got some sort of "special" (mainly birthdays) occasion, but that's not really for me. I've found, particularly in the colder weather, that a nice jacket looks better than a shirt and dominates your look more anyway. I recently purchased this jacket last week (although i got it for 35% off), after considering this one also. Even if you don't wear the jacket completely done up, which is the way I prefer it, the tshirt/shirt that you're wearing underneath isn't really important, as long as the colours match well. Leather jackets also seem to be a popular choice, but again, that's not really for me. But in my opinion, your premium should be on a nice jacket. I've literally worn rabens my entire adult life, but last week I got these shoes. They're not nearly as comfortable (what would be compared to rabens) but they definitely look a lot nicer. In warmer weather, I just stick to jeans and a "nice" t-shirt. If this is moreso what you're after, I don't really think you need to worry about spending premium on anything in particular. It's easy enough to manage and put together.
Well, how white and upper class do you want to look? For you I'd suggest taking up a style that allows a scarf or maybe a keffiyeh at all times. Sure, you'll look like a ridiculous hipster but it'll cover your neck tattoo. Joking aside. Get a few GQs, find a few outfits you think look good, and do your best to reproduce them with knock off brands. GQ has all you need to know as far as color schemes and not dressing like a Denny's employee trying to impress a date. Usually big stores like Macy's will have a rack of largely discounted stuff that is out of season or unsold. You can sometimes find a hidden jewel or two. Better after Christmas with returns and them trying to unload everything. Things not to skimp on. In my experience, belts. Never, ever, get those black and brown reversible ones. Ive had three, they've all snapped at the hinge after a few months of use, plus the hinge is on a spring that will clinch and rip hairs our of your happy trail if you aren't wearing a tucked in shirt. Otherwise a decent belt will last years with out the leather cracking from constant use(still wouldnt spend more than 30 bucks on one). Shoes you can find a decent pair at DSW for 60-80 bucks a piece for dress shoes. Also, fuck designer jeans. Most cheap places, read Old Navy, have all the same styles minus the embroidery that looks lame anyway.
I'm no clothes horse, but from what you posted here, I'd recommend NOT trying to revamp the whole wardrobe at once. Esp if you live somewhere w four seasons, just concentrate on getting things for summer for now. If you try to get everything at once, you run the risk of obsolescence due to your style changing, fashions changing, your sizes changing, etc. Another tip: concentrate on fit as much as fashion.
Anyone have experience with mortgages in the U.S.? I have two mortgage commitments from a pair of lenders, the first guy couldn't meet me on price, so I got another appraisal from another bank that locked me in at a lower rate. The first guy calls me back last week and can get me a rate at 25bps lower than where I locked in with the second bank. Am I correct in my understanding that a locked in rate does not truly commit me to working with one bank over the other, and that my only out of pocket costs are the home appraisal? I'm giving the second bank an opportunity to meet the good faith estimate from the original lender, but they are dragging their feet. From my understanding, they've committed to lending to me for a certain period, but I haven't legally binded myself to using either yet. Is this correct?
I'm trying to access a couple pages to a website that have been removed by the website. I tried using the way back machine, which is the only thing I know for finding deleted pages, but this website hasn't been crawled by the way back machine. How can I view them? Is there a way? The pages in question: <a class="postlink" href="http://www.reatawines.com/people_alyssa.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.reatawines.com/people_alyssa.html</a> and <a class="postlink" href="http://www.reatawines.com/people_erich.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.reatawines.com/people_erich.html</a> Thanks for the help.
So Jonah Hex is a pretty crummy movie, but there was a fantastic song in the middle of it: Anyone have an idea where I can find the movie version of it? I think it's performed by Stephan Altman, but I'm not sure. Track listings show both artists performing two different versions of it.
Jewelry question: My girlfriend has a number of half dollars that her grandfather kept in a box while she was growing up. He died a number of years ago and finally her mother convinced her that they should be hers. Among these are a whole lot of 1964 silver half dollars, which are about 90% pure silver. I'd like to get something made for her that she can wear, but I've called probably a dozen jewelers and none of them seem to be willing to melt them down to make something. It's not illegal to melt them down. Anyone done this before, or have any tips, tricks or suggestions to help?
Another thing to do besides looking at GQ or other fashion mags is to grab a female friend whose opinion you trust. I did and it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I used to dress like a fashion abortion, fyi. Anyway, a good female friend can help push you out of your comfort zone and help you to consider things you never realized worked for you. These details can range from big ones, like putting together entire outfits to smaller ones, like matching accessories if you're into that (wristbands, watches, etc.). After a while, you develop your own sense of fashion that your prefer and move from there. In either case, you'll enjoy the compliments rolling in. Alternatively, you could continue to dress like shit and then jazz it up for big events.
Sorry if this is a stupid question: I have a blog hosted on Google's Blogger. I bought a domain name from 123-reg so <a class="postlink" href="http://www.blahblahblah.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.blahblahblah.com</a> redirects to it. I want it so that it says <a class="postlink" href="http://www.blahblahblah.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.blahblahblah.com</a> at the top in the address bar and when navigating through different pages it stays as <a class="postlink" href="http://www.blahblahblah.com/page1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">www.blahblahblah.com/page1</a> etc. I've sort of worked out (I think) that the only way I can have what I want is by buying web space and hosting it on there - this isn't a problem and I don't mind paying for it, but I'd like to keep the Blogger layout as it's simple and has cool tools like Google Analytics. Is there a way to keep my blog on Blogger while having the domain name as I want and not just a re-direction? If this isn't possible, could anybody suggest some alternatives? Thanks, I suck so bad at this shit.
I'm trying to track down an invite to IP Torrents which is deceptively hard to find among my (real life) friends. Is there anyone on here who could help me out with this?
Does anyone have a working knowledge of buying distressed or foreclosed on properties? I've seen the late night t.v. infomercials about it, but who knows what kind of information they actually contain. I don't want to buy and flip homes for a living, but I am looking to buy a cheap cheap cheap house, gutting it, and then revamping it into something I would enjoy living in. At the moment my living situation is set so I wouldn't need this home to be finished in any specific amount of time and I would be doing a good majority of the renovations with the help of a few friends who do the appropriate trade jobs for a living. If you have any experience with this sort of thing, any info would be much appreciated.
How can I keep deer and rabbits out of my garden? Aside from an 8 foot fence, something more practical?
My buddy's mom used to go to barber shops and grab bags of hair and spread that around her garden. She claimed it worked really well. Failing that, try this. Spoiler
