Note: I don't do anything like this for a living. But, couldn't he just be refinancing his loan? That usually requires an appraisal.
I know there's some wood working types on this board: I'm looking to build a podium for my classroom - something simple, cheap. I'm really struggling on finding decent plans on the internet. Anyone know of any decent resources? Thanks.
Also interested in this, specifically the new "gel" materials that are supposedly not as hot as the standard material.
We've had a Tempurpedic since 2006 - definitely worth the money. I used to have problems with my feet and legs hurting, but the week we got the new mattress those problems went away and I haven't had them since. We really like the dampening effect of the mattress - you can barely fell the other person move. My wife can sleep close to me without feeling like she's rolling into a hole too. That was one of her big complaints about our old mattress. The only drawback on the memory foam mattresses is the heat. My wife is experiencing pre-menopause symptoms and she has trouble sleeping on it right now because she gets too hot. I still recommend the mattresses, especially if the new materials improve the heat retention problem. Check out the memory foam and latex mattresses from other manufacturers too. A big part of the cost of a Tempurpedic is their advertising budget.
Same here. I haven't been able to find much in my area aside the Tempurpedic that is significantly less expensive enough for me to try it. I will say that every one I know that has shelled out the cash for a Tempur has said the same thing as zzr - "worth the money". I did find a line called EnviroTech on the Shopping Channel of all places. I think for now that I'm going to buy one of these until I'm finally ready to pony up the cash for a Tempur. If anyone finds something else - please shoot me a PM.
Yes, that's a good tent if you want just one. Another idea is to get a tent hammock, although they're more expensive and are only practical if you're camping in the woods. I would also suggest getting a cheap plastic tarp to put underneath the tent. Better protection on the ground side, (the bottom is NOT waterproof) keeps a rogue stick from ripping the bottom, and it's also better insulation if you end up deciding to go cold-weather camping. If you're looking for a backpack, I suggest going to a surplus store and getting one of the old ALICE packs. Those things are gold. Just don't get one with a tacticool cammo pattern; it looks tacky.
Apparently I've been away from computers to long and I'm stumped. There is a virus somewhere in my computer and I can't find it. This is an XP build 2600 box. I've run full scans with AVG, Spybot, Malwarebytes, (All with current databases) and manually searched myself. This started yesterday with a .dll error (It was an AOL .dll, so it wasn't a required system, .dll) which told me that access was denied. So I deleted it. Then got the error that it was missing, so I restored the file. Back to the access denied error. If I remember correctly I can edit this .dll out of the boot.ini file, but I can't find the boot.ini. All I can find is the back up. I ran msconfig and checked my start up and there was nothing suspicious there. ( I only have 3 programs set to run in start up.) This is an older (Approx. 7 years old) box so it's only running 512mb RAM, but it's basically just used for internet, so that's sufficient...until yesterday. Opening Firefox the system falls to just 10% of the RAM available, sometimes lower. It's constantly freezing, programs not responding, and some (Including AVG) just not opening at all. I had to run the AVG scan in safe mode. There has been nothing downloaded on the computer recently, I've cleaned the cache in Firefox and IE (Including that pesky hidden IE5/content folder that likes to fill itself and stay filled even when you clear cache) and cleared all Temp folders. I've obviously defragged and ran error checking (Including checking for bad sectors.) Any ideas? This is driving me nuts.
I've got an email question. I have two email addresses that I use religiously. One is a gmail and one is associated with a website that I have for a personal business that isn't active right now. I own the domain and have been using the email for years. I've done a pretty decent job of being spam free on both of those accounts until a few days ago. The non-gmail account is being bombarded with emails about getting July dated checks today and all sorts of other spam. I'm on a mac and use Outlook and have just been blocking the sender and marking it junk. Problem is that these few companies seem to have an unlimited amount of addresses and each one is different. There has to be a better higher up solution. What should I do? Just keep placing the incoming mail on block lists and list as junk mail? Contact the host company and let them know that my email is being swarmed with spam and have them check it out from their end? I'm mac based and am wondering if there are any utilities I should know about or anything I could or should be doing on my end. I've done my best to keep this email from the general public. I use an old yahoo as my sign up for pretty much everything. A bank or a very trusted source had to have sold this email address out as I pretty much use it for the really important life stuff, ie. healthcare, banking, etc. Any info would be appreciated. I'm calling the host company regardless but would love some extra info. Thanks. This isn't a huge deal. It's just a bit annoying. EDIT: I just talked to the host provider and they showed me a bunch of settings and ways on their end to help eliminate a lot of this. I'd still welcome any and all suggestions.
In Outlook you can block domain names so that you don't have to keep blocking individual addresses. Go to Junk -> Junk Email Options then to the blocked senders tab. You can edit one of the addresses you've already blocked to block the entire domain by removing the individual address so you just have "@domain.com".
Is there anyone here who does graphic design? There is a charity vball tournament coming up that I am helping to run, and it's to raise money for www.usabattlebuddies.com, a charity that provides service dogs to returning combat Veterans. The tournament is being named after Tonka. I have an idea for the logo for the t-shirts, posters, etc, but would love to have it actually look good, rather than something drawn totally by hand.
There was someone who made a post a while back about playing a particular piano song when stressed out as fast as they can. It was super fast paced and very complex however the name of the OP and the song eludes me. The OP actually included a youtube clip of the song. I'm unable to locate this in my searches, can anyone help me out with this please? Thanks.
It was me. Rachmaninoff Prelude in C# Minor. The middle section. Starts right around 1:41. 2:09 is particularly satisfying.
I'm looking for a recommendation for some good men's casual dress shoes. Specifically, I want something with a rubber sole, comfortable, and lasting, that I can wear with khakis and/or semi-casual slacks but will last me a long time; I just ran through a pair of Cole Hahns in six months. I have dressier dress shoes for wearing with suits when necessary, but I want a more reliable pair in the $100 range, I guess. Advice is appreciated.
Be sure to check out the local discount stores. I bought a pair of nice Johnston and Murphy's for $65 which are regularly over $100. Nordstroms Rack also has some great shoes which I recommend checking out if you don't have huge ass feet.
I'm interested in meditation. Nothing spiritual, I've just been hearing about it's benefits to focus and a general sense of well being. Are there any sites, books, videos, etc that are particularly helpful?
I'd recommend starting with "Minding the Body, Mending the Mind" by Borshenko. Mindful meditation and deep breathing exercises are are a good starting point.
anyone know if tv shows like, say, Breaking Bad on AMC are streamed anywhere on the net while they air? I still don't have tv hooked up at new house and don't feel like waiting for torrent tomorrow.
