I've only played 3-4 Kill Confirmed games so far (yet to lose one i think), but is sniping basically pointless? Makes getting the tags pretty difficult.
Depends on if you have people that like to get tags on your team, i love snipers, gets me free points.
Had the MW3 bug last night, so I took a break from Skyrim and played a good 3-4 hours while The Girlfriend slept on the sofa. Played around with the PP90 SMG for awhile and had a blast doing a sort of "run 'n gun" play style. Used the PP90 with Kick and the rapid fire attachment, Scavenger/Hardline Pro/Stead Aim Pro, and a stinger for taking down air support. Lots of hip fire kills before the other guy could even register that I was there. Of course I still died a lot, especially in the run and gun mind frame, and I haven't been playing enough lately to have a real solid gripe on the map layouts. I think I'll try a similar setup with the UMP45, see which one I like better. I want to play with snipers since I got pretty good at that in MW2, but every time I try it goes terribly, like I said I just don't think I know the maps well enough yet. Also, does anybody know if you use a prestige token to "perma-unlock" a piece of gear, is it just for the prestige you are on, or is it carry over through all future prestiges as well?
Just spawn killed literally 4 fucking times in a row on Dome. Twice directly in someone's vision, once in the same room right next to them, and once to a pred missile. Not fun.
Watched one of my killcams last night: the guy dies, spawns, gets immediately killed by me, then spawns directly behind me and kills me...ALL IN ONE KILLCAM. It's times Like that I wish I had my theatre mode on.
I had a silencer on that gun, and I couldn't believe it had a silence on it. It sounded loud as hell.
I had another bastard spawn death late last night on Hardhat. I could not possibly have spawned any closer to an enemy. And by that, I mean I spawned so close I literally PUSHED HIM OUT OF THE WAY TO MAKE ROOM FOR MYSELF! Literally on fucking top of him. He didn't have to move an inch to stick a knife in my back. I did have some high points though. I got an Omnicide with a stealth bomber on Mission and a few Escort Airdrops. On an unrelated note, fuck anyone who uses the Type 95 and fuck their mother, too.
I'm so tired of this one shot to the ankle and I'm dead bullshit. It is so frustrating to be taken out by a guy who can't even put it above the kneecap.
That is probably from all the fuckers who either crouch or prone as soon as then see anyone. It has people trained to start shooting low.
I'll let her know. Yeah, Gravitas, everyone is drop shotting now. Its a bad holdover from BO because the hit detection was complete shit. I do have to give it to MW3, the one thing did right was better hiding in plain sight. Not even just with a ghillie, but just being able to hide and not clip through the wall or anything retarded like that.
I'm pretty sure everyone on the other team walks around with magnets on their dicks because as soon as I see someone on the enemy team, my gun gets aimed right at it. My heat map from black ops is just about barren, with the exception of a bright red spot on the crotch. In other news, I am officially taking a leave of absence from this game until med school finals are over. Hopefully by then they will have fixed the lag comp and spawning. Going 18-1 and then 8-14 with no changes in people in the lobby is incredibly frustrating. So is watching yourself die twice in one kill cam. When everything is going as it should, this game is almost exactly what I wanted. But shitty spawns and lag comp are really putting a damper on my boner for this game.
I'm late to the parade here but I bought MW3 a week ago and after logging 12 hours here are my initial impressions: - Shotguns are useless. - Everyone spams UAVs and everyone uses Assassin Pro, except for like one guy on the enemy team who you can use to figure out their spawns. - Aggressively sniping now takes skill. - Care packages are more efficient than setting high-end assault kill streaks. You can easily get at least a couple per game and you won't feel like shit once your 17 kill streak gets immediately shot down. - MW3 rewards aggressive gunplay far less than MW2 or BO. If you are fighting behind cover your odds of winning a fight increase significantly. - This is in part due to the improved hit detection. Epic win. - Once you figure out map layout it is pretty easy to stomp campers. Fucking campers. Type 95 is probably the strongest assault rifle, it did not take me long to get the gold skin. It can be countered by any decent sniper in a distance fight and aggressive SMG gunfights assuming the Type 95 doesn't get off a lucky hip fire. My gaming style is modeled around Sandy Ravage's run & gun UMPing in MW2 and I was initially frustrated with how poorly that strategy translates to MW3. Even with Extreme Conditioning sprint is depleted fast, and assholes hiding behind cover are willing to sit for an awfully long time just to pick you off. I ended up adapting by using a class that will probably catch me some flak: Type 95 w/ Silencer + Rapid Fire - Blind Eye - Assassin Pro - Dead Silence Pro o Secondary: FMG-9 w/ silencer o Frag & Concussions o Assault: UAV, Care Package, Predator Say what you want about it but I am able to constantly push into enemy spawns without immediately getting destroyed. Constantly move cover to cover, take every turn assuming someone is camping ADS, and whenever the enemy team calls in a UAV break away from your team and go Rambo. I guess this class is pretty cheap but I play to have fun which means being able to rush without dying every three seconds. Worked way better for me than any silenced SMG but took a long time to get used to, especially the jacked up iron sight. Overall I'd say MW3 is great but some of the maps seriously suck. Don't even know some of them by name yet because the shitty ones blend together. Just means more adapting, definitely not a deal breaker.
Do we have a 'latest' version of everyone's gamertag floating around somewhere? I've been mostly just playing on my own without using my headset or anything and have been having a good time, but it would be nice to play with someone other than random strangers. I have two invites pending right now, not sure if they are from here though or just random's. Edit: On that note, with COD elite they have actual clan support, don't they? Any interest in starting up a [TiB] clan?
I'm not really sure. I apparently just created one called 'The Idiot Board'. I don't know if it actually does anything in game or if it's just a group to be in on elite, or if it even works cross platform. Edit: Also, it seems that Elite is split between consoles. Anyone that has posted on here with an XBL gamertag I can look up and find, but when I try to look up anyones PSN account, I get nothing.
