I can barely distinguish Downturn and the other city maps from each other based on name alone. Downturn is the one with the giant hole in the middle, yes? If so, yeah, that map is really hard with all of those corners.

Finally got around to playing Drop Zone, one of my favourite game modes. The Javelin is really useful, but can be quite slow for clearing the Drop Zone, better saved for what ever crazy package someone gets like an Attacked Helicopter etc.

I love just how silly games can get with grenades being chucked constantly, explosions all around you whilst trying to steal packages.

This. You just have to use the right gun for the board. And it definitely is a grind with the shotguns. Getting the requisite 400 or 500 kills to unlock extended mags and damage can take FOREVER. So far I have fully unlocked the Striker and SPAS, and am just now working on the KSG-12. If you plan on prestiging again (I am not), building up the shotguns is just not worth it.

I'm not really sure how, but I started MW3 with two prestige tokens the first time I turned the game on. I think I remember hearing that loading up Elite was good for one, but I have no idea where the other one came from. Nevertheless, I've prestiged twice already, so I have the Striker, the ACR, and Dead Silence all perma-unlocked, and used the last one on two hours of double XP, which got me to level 21 real quick. I'm really pleased with how they have the tokens to let you unlock whatever you want, as I won't need extra custom classes till later on anyways. Being able to make classes at level four with my two favourite guns is awesome, and makes the grind till everything else is unlocked way more bearable.

In shittier news, I was the victim of a M.O.A.B. yesterday in Kill Confirmed. I didn't recognize the name of the player that got it, so I went and watched the game in the theater afterwards to see how it happened. He finished the game 53-3 without killing me once (other than the bomb), and I didn't kill him once. I went the entire game without even seeing this guy. However, the people on my team that went 2-29 and 3-32 met him many times. There was actually a point where he sat on a dumpster for two consecutive minutes and killed those same two guys 14 times between the two of them. Ridiculous.

I don't get people who go 3-32 or something horrible like that, even if your really new to the game how does that happen? How does getting killed 7 times by the same guy sitting in the same spot not make someone think maybe I'll try a different tactic?

I am a decent player and have had bad games like everyone else but 3-32? That has never came close to happening.

You get 1 prestige token for every other CoD game you have prestiged in. I started with 2, 1 for MW2 and 1 for BO.

Had two sick games yesterday, both Ground War TDM. Went 35-5 at Underground. The enemy called in an Escort Airdrop at the upper level; I had my LMG class with Blind Eye. Dropped a Javelin on the care packages for a multikill then camped behind a planter box and mowed people down as they ran back for the packages. I actually ran out of ammo for my LMG and had to pickup an ACR next to me just to keep killing people. Attack Helicopter - Pavelow - Juggernaut - Game Over.

Second one I went 24-0. Plowed through people with the Striker at Seatown. I am still trying to level it and didn't even have extended mags or range/damage. Got my Assault Drone killstreak and let me tell you, that thing is a fucking beast. After its batteries died, I camped under some stairs until the match ended just so I could complete the no death challenge. Sadly, my team couldn't keep up without me slaughtering people so we ended up falling behind and losing anyway.

The ONLY way I can see that happening to someone was if they were going for one of those ridiculously hard challenges and they were so focused on that they couldn't see the other guys giving them bullet hail storms.

    A few possibilities...

    1. Boosting. If someone on your team is 32-3 and someone on the other team is 3-32, do the math. Luckily I have yet to run in to this on the PS3.

    2. They JUST started playing the game. MW2 was the first FPS I ever played. Even after playing the campaign and dicking around on Spec Ops, going into multi-player for the first time was a rude awaking. Take an actual first timer with shit classes that is still trying to figure out what all the buttons do, and throw him into a lobby with people that have already been playing the game for a couple of months, and you'll see scores like 3-32. Keep in mind a LOT of kids just got MW3 for Christmas, and some of them are bound to have never played the game before. The last few days have been pretty comical. Luckily the noobs are starting to figure the game out a bit by now.

    3. As already stated, they are going for some ridiculous challenge. "What's that, I need to get 5 longshot headshots with a Deagle in order to complete a daily challenge? Fuck my team, I'm going for it. Sorry Guys."

    4. They are drunk and/or high. Been there, done that, went 4-25 in BO on Jungle with dual pythons and have the t-shirt to prove it. Most of the time I play late on the weekends, it's after the bar and I have the hand eye coordination of Michael J. Fox. It's still rare that I do THAT bad even when blind drunk, but it can happen.

It's really a non-issue though. If someone in the lobby is going 3-32 and they end up on your team, bail. If they end up on the enemy team, relish in the fact that you will get some easy kills for a game and when they eventually end up on your team, bail. I don't give a flying fuck about my W/L record so it doesn't bother me at all if I lose a game due to an absolute shit player.

Played around a bit with the MG36, the LMG. It is so fucking good. Just like the G36C with Extended Mags and it does more damage. Only drawback is how slow you move with it. But if you're just sitting back on a Groundwar Dominatoon to guard a B flag it can't be beat.

Ok, I finally leveled the Striker up enough to get extended mags/damage, but I haven't really had time to play around with it since. Do you guys find that you do better with the damage or the range proficiency?

Glad I finally got it too, I decided to only use the striker until I had it leveled up to that point, even on maps that I have no business using a shotgun on, so I was having some pretty bad games that day.

I use damage, one shot kills for the win. SOH Pro + Assassin Pro + Steady Aim Pro is my setup for running Striker.

I'm horrible when drunk. The day i go close to getting a positive KD ratio drunk is the drunk is the day I get drunk and put my face between Jessica Alba's legs.

You could use both with the attachments proficiency

Oddly enough, playing hammered is usually when I have the most fun. My shit talking definitely gets ramped up to another level, and if somebody pisses me off I spend the entire game trying to hunt them down and torment them. It's fantastic.

I run extended mags as the weapon attachment, and the damage as the weapon proficiency.

If you use the attachments proficiency, that allows you to use two weapon attachments but it takes up your proficiency spot. So you could run extended mags + grip, for example, but you would not be able to run the damage or range proficiency since the spot is taken.

    Re: Re: CoD Addicts Thread

I used to switch back and forth on my two most-used classes between damage and range all the time, and I'd say damage is definitely the better of the two. The difference in overall range of the striker doesn't seem to change much between them, but when you're involved in close range shootings (hopefully often if you're using a shotgun), it will be a one shot kill with damage and a two shot anywhere other than the head with range.

That's the same class I use with it too. Sometimes switch up SOH with Marathon to get real up close and personal. People seem to get really pissed off when they take a shotgun to the face from 20 feet; hearing them for that second after they die and only hearing screaming/profanity/crying is just so fantastic.

    Re: Re: CoD Addicts Thread

This was my go-to setup with the Striker as well. Triple and quad feeds ferdayz.

FYI: when you get the Specialist bonus (assuming you're using that strike package), you get all proficiencies for your gun. For some reason, you don't get damage for shotguns doing this. Which is another reason to use it for your initial setup. It makes it possible to have both range and damage. It's as awesome as it sounds.

I think someone already mentioned that a few weeks ago, but I don't remember.

I'm up, I'll check you in a minute.

But first. Whoever is running the "The Idiot Board" clan on PS3, you need to fucking pay attention. I've had a clan request in for weeks. If we're gonna do this, let's do this.
