Ok I am such a better player when I am stoned. I haven't played in a week, went to underpass and went 29-8-9 with an ACR and specialist package. I was a fucking nightmare with recon and everytime my team got a UAV their whole team was stealthily picked off. I think it's because I don't run around like an idiot when I'm high (too lazy). Instead I have patience and sneak around while trying to outsmart people.
Anyone else having headset volume issues since the update? For about two days now, since I had to download the latest version my headset volume in games is terribly low. I figured it was my headset shitting out but one of my buddies has noticed the exact same thing. Anyone else having issues?
I can hear in-game sound just fine, but the volume for voice chat has been lowered significantly for me.
Yeah, apparently the in game mic volume was reset lower after the download. Just go to the in game options and adjust it back up. Google what?
This is probably a dumb question with as much COD as I play, but is there theater mode on MW3 like in BO? I have elite, and it says theater, but is that just a way for developers to post their own promo videos or what?
It's ridiculous how accurate that guy is. However, This is how you do a montage: It's BF3 instead of CoD, but damn that is well done.
I know it is highly subjective, but I actually prefer to simplicity of Sandy Ravage-style videos. There are no disorientating special effects or over the top transitions. Instead it's just straight up action, combined with a metal soundtrack, and that's it. While I appreciate the amount of effort that must have gone in to making that BF3 video, the constant speed up/slow motion/blinding light shit immediately put me off. If the game play is deserving of a montage, I feel like it should be good enough to stand on its own without a ton of processing. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
Exactly, I didn't pay anything for my copy of BF3 and I am glad I didn't. Played 20 minutes of multiplayer and it hasn't been booted up since then. What a shit game.
Ended up going 36-5 on a Team Defender match on Village last night. I was playing well, sure, but getting that many kills was mostly luck. They apparently didn't have anyone with a launcher and they all stayed out in the open when I got my reaper, and then when I called in my Pavlow it was all over. That thing racked up so many kills. It's a shame that KS reward kills don't count towards the MOAB, I ended up getting around 27 kills before someone killed me again. Best part was that we were pretty far behind but ended up coming back for the win because of me.
There's a couple of reasons I kept coming back after buying BF3. - The game engine is glitchy as fuck. The movement is ambitious but tell me why it takes 3 tries to jump over a waist high wall? - The people are fucking annoying and the game rewards them for that. Oh what's that? Your legs can phase into walls which means you can just hide in a corner having only your chest and head popping out? Oh how lovely, you have a USAS with frag rounds and you're aiming down at the only doorway. Cute. For everyone that doesn't know, the USAS is the most overpowered piece of shit gun I've ever seen in a game. It's like a mix between Unreal Tournament's Flak Cannon and CS' AWP. You can snipe with that thing. Oh and even if you DO miss, the frag rounds (which explode upon impact because you know, fuck balance) cause so much suppression that you don't even know where you're being shot from. - The game is so slow, you don't even know if you're lagging. I've been shot after running behind cover more times than I can count. And last but definitely not least, the aiming. Oh my, how the aiming blows. - There's input lag. As in: you look left and it always takes you 80ms to START moving. (on my television it took lots of tweaking to lower it from 233ms. Yes 233ms.) Try aiming well when stuff like that happens. - Even if you DO manage to master the input lag problem, here's a neat little detail: The aiming accelerates exponentially. What do I mean by this? When you push your stick halfway in one direction (50% for the sake of the argument) you move around at .. say 2 sensitivity on CoD. But if you push it all the way, instead of going to 4 like a logical shooter, you suddenly move at 8 sensitivity. This makes it very hard to aim precisely. But it's not like you'll need that on huge maps.. Right? So here's what happens most of the time when you see a guy; You aim and overshoot. He shoots. He suppresses you, your aiming gets worse. Your bullets at first seem to go right through him, with no hit markers. Weird. Fine, whatever. You finally manage to get some rounds on the guy. He kills you even though you shot him like 7 times in the chest. You're dead and have to wait for the 10 second respawn timer. Now, depending whether you're playing Rush/Conquest or TDM you have to deal with either godawful spawns or running 2 minutes for all this to happen again. I'll take my noobtubes now, thanks. On a brighter note, I got a double MOAB on a game of domination on Lockdown earlier this week. We had C and B, they had A and I was at B behind the horseshoe-shaped sandbags, looking at the stairs. They had no chance against Marksman + Stalker behind cover with an ACR.
I don't know when, but they buffed the shit out of the 1887. I am running with only steady aim, no damage OR range proficiencies, and I am still getting 1 shot kills probably 80% of the time, no lie. And these kills are longer range than any other shotgun. I cant wait to actually get the range proficieny. Only draw back though is the fire rate so get good with the throwing knife.
I'm looking for a new gaming headset for both PC and XBOX. I don't need to be able to seperately adjust gun/voice/footstep/masturbation sound levels, but I wouldn't mind moving a step up from the Turtle Beach X11s I had (which may or may not have been defeated by my wall). I'm trying to stay below $100, 150 at the very most (at that price, it should come with a free blowjob). Any suggestions are welcome.
I had the Turtle Beach X21s for a couple of years, and they fit the bill pretty well. They're $79 retail, fit pretty comfortably, have separate game/voice/bass controls, as well as a mute switch that slides on/off that was handy (as opposed to a mute button where you have to keep your finger on the button in order to mute). Originally I didn't think being able to control the volumes separately was a big deal, but it ended up being a very nice feature to have. Especially in lobbies where some asshole has his mic gain set to 100%. The sound quality was decent. I don't have a surround setup in my apartment so the sound was coming directly through the back of my TV in two channel stereo and not 5.1 or 7.1, so I wasn't able to differentiate where footsteps and gunfire was coming from as well as people running full surround sound. I play at my buddy's place a lot were he has a properly setup 5.1 surround system, and the difference is definitely noticeable. The X21s were my first headset ever, so I do not know how long they typically last. A few months back the ear "can" broke off the swivel hinge and the headset is now worthless. http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/ps3 ... -px21.aspx Personally, I may move up to Tritons or Astros down the road once I can justify the cost, but for an immediate replacement I may just buy another set of Turtle Beach X21s or downgrade to X11s.
As much as I know better on the price tag, I'm really tempted to get these. One question I have is whether those are truly surround sound? For example, are two ear speakers capable of putting out an approximation of 3D sound or just left and right? Or do I need to run these with an actual surround sound system (which would kind of defeat the point of using a headset). I know that's one big problem I had with my X11s - Non-Ninja players were as stealthy as an elephant in an avalanche, but I'd still frequently get popped because I misinterpreted which direction the footsteps were.
Funny you mention the Tritton AX720s. I was going to post a link to those in my post above but didn't. To answer your question, they are 7.1 surround as opposed to two channel stereo like your X11s (assuming you're not getting the audio source though a 5.1 or 7.1 receiver). If you click the link you posted, you'll see a little box where the add says, "Immersive 3D directional audio". That's Triton's dolby digital decoder; it takes the audio signal from your XBOX/PS3/PC and converts it into the signal your headphones pipe in. So yes, it is actually a legit surround setup. If you look at the product specs for Astros or the high buck Turtle Beach headsets, they have a decoder as well. One reason I did not post a link to those specific Trittons above is because if you read customer reviews on Amazon, Google, etc., it seems the Trittons are extremely fragile and have a tendency to break very quickly. To make matters worse, when they do break, Tritton's customer service is supposedly very shitty. Shitty as in, "These broke after 3 months and Tritton won't ship me a replacement" shitty. Seriously, check out the reviews when you have a chance. They are pretty insightful. Astros seem to be the way to go, but at that point you are looking at $250-275. That's one hell of an investment even if you do play a lot.
I ended up picking up a pair of Turtle Beach X12's. I thought about wireless, but didn't think it would make that big of a difference. Can the better headsets really produce surround sound that well? Did I make a mistake in getting a pair with stereo only? I really didn't want to spend $100, which is why I got the X12's (that and they were pretty well reviewed on all the sites I checked).
