Well, Sony doesn't "step in" the system just stops you from adding the account to a 6th system. Its hardcoded. I found this out the hardway when I gave it to one friend, and he gave it to 5 more. I had to call Sony and had all of them reset, which they claimed to do as a "one time courtesy." With Elite, you'll get the maps as they come available and you've paid a discount bulk price. They're going to release 6-8 maps total, they've released 2 for PS3, with 2 more coming by months end. For 25 dollars a piece, you'd actually be saving money on all the maps that come out.
I like black box so far, that is the one I've played the most so far. I've only played 1-2 games on Piazza and overwatch so far, Piazza I liked but overwatch was just so-so. I've been playing mostly FFA lately, so I haven't played liberation yet. I'm thinking I may do my third prestige this weekend, with double xp and all.
Just FYI, it appears the PSN is having difficulties and is not letting people connect. I don't see anything obvious on Sony's page, but the official COD MW3 forum is starting to blow up. I was able to get in after multiple attempts, but was booted out of my game and signed off the PSN a few minutes into a game. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.
Notice people using LMGs more often? That's because they buffed the shit out of them. They all kill in 3 hits at any range now. It's just what they needed. I never noticed just how much bullet damage to air support is increased with blind eye pro. Maybe they buffed it too because it kills anything faster than a stinger can. With the L86, I was taking down pavelows in 6 seconds flat, even less for helicopters and reapers.
I'm pretty sure I took out an escorted airdrop with 2 clips of a Type95 with Blind Eye Pro. I couldn't fucking believe it. I didn't see anyone else shooting at it or any missiles hit it.
How is everyone enjoying Overwatch? I'm a little upset they have mixed them all in like they did before. Its either you're playing the new maps or you're playing the old maps.
Overwatch is easily my favorite out of the 3 new maps, I still fucking hate Liberation but its not much of an issue lately because most lobbies vote for anything but that map. I would rather they put all the maps together but I don't know when or if that will happen, at least let people choose what game type they want to play instead of forcing TDM/KC/DOM on everyone. Most people I played with this weekend seemed to be bitching nonstop about not being able to just play straight TDM.
Overwatch is pretty awesome so far. People keep trying to be sneaky and get on the outlying cranes and shit, but they're so obvious. I still want that office/rooftop map back though.
As much as I complained about Liberation, I found a way to do well on that map. I sit in the corner with my L86/thermal/silencer, Blind Eye Pro, and Assassin Pro, and a portable radar out. Anyone unfortunate enough to wonder past gets laid down but my main focus is shooting down every single enemy air support that enters the sky. Easiest. Point streaks. Ever. As long as I stay hidden, I'm almost guaranteed an AC-130.
I've been getting the new maps on the old playlists for days now. I play a lot of FFA and the new maps have been in the rotation there since right after they came out. Also played some ground war with a friend Saturday and I know we had some new maps there too. Haven't tried anything else though. I'm just so-so on overwatch right now, Black Box and Piazza are definitely my favorite two of the new pack so far. Liberation can go suck a big black dick.
The key to Liberation is simply an LMG, the XM25, and a grip. Don't care what your first to Perks are but the third has to be Marksmen. I kept trying to use the Type95, and I just got spanked due to the lateral movements. Marksmen made that map so much easier. Piazza is fun as hell for KC. I switched to the PP90 and it has been love ever more. Overwatch is great. Almost as good as Highrise, then again I only got one good game on it. I'll probably get used to running the lower levels so I can just use an SMG. Also, I went into COD Elite and looked at my weapon efficiency. Funny how I'm better with all the games I don't like to use. Like the CM Assault Rifle and suck with the guns I do like: UMP95.
I've been trying to use the L86 to level it up. I've heard if you put a grip and thermal site on it, there is basically 0 kick, even while standing. I'll have to try that on Liberation. On Piazza I use my MP7 with a silencer and either rapid fire or focus, and then with sitrep pro and my turtle beach headset, I can hear where everyone is. I've been raping on that map, according to elite my KDR on just Piazza is 1.9.
Decided to break out the Model 1887 and level it up over the weekend. I am so fucking close to getting gold camo (it's currently halfway through level 30), and I finally unlocked the damage proficiency last night. Using damage is definitely the way to go, but it's typically at least a two shot kill, even up close. During my quest to max out all of the shotguns, I have realized that people take to dying from anything other than the striker very VERY poorly. The amount of hate mail and shit talking immediately jumps through the roof. It's absolutely glorious.
You're tempting me try this out. I have't gone back to try the shotgun again. The AA-12 should probably be the second easiest. I'm upset I didn't get any hatemail after my 18-0-3 Juggernaught rampage I got in my 3 kill carepackage on Hardhat.
I'd suggest giving it a shot, as long as you don't care about your K/D. Most of the shotguns are practically useless without the damage proficiency, at least with my shitty connection. Ranking up the shotguns can be pretty brutal. I typically hover around a 1.0ish K/D on MW3, and I went through a rough streak last night during my Model 1887 quest where I was going 9-22, 10-30, etc. The beauty with oddball shotguns comes from within the lobby itself. Sometimes all it takes is one game, at least in Kill Confirmed. What I have found is that if you kill the same guy say 3-4 times in a short period of time with a SPAS, Model, USAS, etc. and piss them off, their attitude becomes, "Oh yeah? OH YEAH MOTHERFUCKER? That's how it is? I got something for that ass!" and they break out their shotgun (almost always a striker). Their teammates see them running around like a maniac, trying to gun you down and blasting away, and they switch to THEIR shotgun class (once again, almost always a striker). Your teammates then notice a definite rise is shotgun noise since they're audible across the board, so THEY switch to their shotgun class (for the third time, almost always a striker), and the cycle continues. The whole game deteriorates in to one gigantic, beautiful cluster fuck of a shotgun fest with probably 8-10 of the 12 players hammering away at each other. Boards like Dome, Carbon, and Hardhat are great for this type of antic. Unfortunately a lobby will only play balls out with shotguns for one or two games before most of the players throw in the towel and quit. When it does happen though, it's a thing of fucking beauty.
There's another community playlist up with some of the Wager match game-modes from Black Ops, like One in the Chamber, gun game (it's called 18 guns now), and other new ones. If you liked the wager matches in BO, you'll probably like those. Not sure how long the mode's been around for since I hadn't played MW3 in over a month before yesterday.
It's only been a few days. Another fun feature I found is that when you're out in OITC you can choose which player you think is best that is still playing, and every kill they get, you get a small amount of points.
So, the L86 LMG with a grip and thermal site is a blast. Just as I had heard, there is hardly any kick at all with that combination. Even standing, I can nail people half the map away with that damn thing. Definitely worth it if you can put in the time to level it up enough to get the thermal site.
I am loving this, although this seems to be common knowledge, every lobby I played with had a ton of people using L86, the MK14 with thermal is deadly as shit. EDIT: I can't spell for shit after 14 beers
