My SMG of choice is the UMP. Like all my guns, I use it suppressed. When I'm using a tactical setup I use it with a suppressed Spas-12 or USP, otherwise I always use it with an x-mag Spas-12.
Yeah, mt first couples games I was groggy from waking up, and they were on boards where I'm not particularly good anyway. You could tell I was getting more settled in by the time I had to leave. I've been doing way way better in FFA in the last week or so. I had that great night on the weekend, and now my normal finish in a FFA is usually between a 1:1 and a 1.75:1 KDR, with the occasional 23-0-2.
This is the recipe for success. Spas-12 with x-mags too. Perks are Marathon / SP / Ninja Pro. Then all you do is flank the shit out of people. Good times.
I have a boner for the UMP on the small medium maps now. I cant believe I never used it before especially with Marathon, Stopping Power and Steady aim this thing is ruthless. I hit my kill streaks twice in one map (Kill streaks being 7 Harrier, 9 Pave low and 11 AC-130) and got 36-2-2.
I know we already had the PS3 vs 360 fight, but is anyone actually playing MW2 on the 360 anymore? I'm getting tired of only playing with random 12 year olds. XBL: B1sGust1nG
Boom right here with the same problem. My roommate and I usually play together and kick ass but it gets lame when you dont have someone to watch your back. XBOX: IrishBallistic
I got my first piece of hate mail today. Went 25-5-2. Yes I'm pissed about 5 of my kills being "assists." Stayed in the warehouse corner in vacant. RPD as usual. Guys just kept trying to jump through that door, the team got on board with the strat, I got all my killstreaks and stole a pavelow from a guy who must have throught he was throwing a stun grenade but it was actually his care package. He called me a "CAMPIN PUSSY". Yum, hate. Part of a balanced diet.
So my roommate and I jump into a game and we are already losing like 4000 to 6000 I figure fuck it I'm just gonna sit back and start popping people off with my FAMAS. Get my 7 kill streak alright call in a Harrier then Bam! 2 kills so I call in my pave low. I am still sitting back shooting people just hoping I get an AC-130 because I see we are catching up quick 5500 to 6300, I figured if I got the AC-130 we might actually over take them. My roommate and I topped the charts and we won the game 7500 7300. I don't normally con don camping but in this situation when were already losing I felt it was acceptable considering the other team of snipers is camping the middle building. I ended the game 15 -1 -1 my roommate 12 - 3 - 4
I don't understand why everyone hates camping so much in this game, it's easy to stop with Danger Close and a noob/tube thumper class. This game specifically is one of the hardest games to do it in because so many of the walls can be shot through, even without FMJ.
Yea, my first custom class is SCAR-H with the noob-tube/thumper with Scavanger/Danger Close. I dont know how i can do it, but once i start dieing after a good run, i cant seem to stop dieing. I was 17-0 and finished 20-8. And the couple of rounds i was playing last night, my fucking team would not leave me alone, i would find a nice camping spot, next thing i know there are 3 other there and someone shoots a noob-tube and gets a quad kill. This happened on more then one occasion, and it is sad when i am top of the team with score like 18-13, hell i haven't even broke the 1:1kd ratio yet i am still sitting at something like .65:1. And i was sure having fun with the M240 last night, lots of fun.
Parker: Camping is bad because the camper ruins the flow of the game. Your typical map has 3 corridors regardless of size. What the camper unwittingly does by being the unskilled fuck that he is, is limit the effectiveness flanking of individuals on both teams and the random but eventual redirection of entire teams -again on both teams- by locking down one area. They aren't hard to deal with, you just have to observe them for a short while and respond accordingly. The reason everyone hates them is because they shouldn't have to be dealt with. The only purpose camping serves is being a pain in the ass. What people sholdn't do is use a noobtube because those fuck up the flow of a game much worse than a camper.
I don't understand this thought process. So grenade launchers shouldn't ever be used? Where does it end? I get called a fag, loser, unskilled fuckface multiple times per game whenever I use commando/marathon/stopping power/sleight of hand/almost any other perk available and kill someone. Should everyone play with only M9 and use no attachments with no perks? When it comes down to it, it's a video game. Perks/attachments/guns are included in the game because it makes it more fun, and that's just the way it goes. With 10 million people playing at once (or however many it is), it's kind of difficult to get everyone to play the specific way you want to play, with the perks you want them to use.
Camping is hard in this game as is. But it is still a play style, that the camper enjoys. Does their enjoyment of the game matter more or less than your enjoyment of the game? That is an impossible argument right there. If they paid $100 so far for this game, and you've paid $100 for the game, who is to say how they should play? This is an impossible argument, but we've stepped into that territory so the impossible question needs to be asked. What I'm actually saying is that if there is a camper, there is an easy way to pop out and kill the camper. If there is a noob tuber, there is an easy way to pop out and kill the noob tuber. Just how the game works and flows. I agree with MacGruber just a bit. People hate it when they have to get out of their comfort zone or their idealized version of the game which was not the developers intent, isn't the reality. I just have a class to kill everyone in any situation.
As frustrating as noob tubing can be in the long run Ive never seen it used as a winning strategy except for maybe the bunker level (fuck its been that long that Im forgetting the map names....). Most of the time it is easier to pick them off at a mid to far level distance than it is for them to toob you so theyre fucked in the long run. Campers are only as infuriating as your teammates ability to work together. Most of the time it is basically a free for all and campers can just run the tables. The worst I ever saw was in Quary when a sniper was held up in that far back corner on the side across from the ramp. He had two or three buddies all with insertion sticks guarding him. None of my teammates did anything but randomly barrel in. So after 4 o 5 times running across the entire map I was able to sneak into the second to last warehouse and noob tube the sniper and his insertion from the window. This finally broke their stranglehold on the area but they still won 7500 to like 3800. edit: I think Ive read, wikipedia, that what we consider noobtubing is used quite frequently in military strategy. Not so much for run and gun but more of the lobbing grenades(launched or otherwise) along with mortars to pin down enemies or keep them from advancing through a certain part of the battle field.
[quote="Parker"If they paid $100 so far for this game, and you've paid $100 for the game, who is to say how they should play?[/quote] I got the prestige edition so there. But seriously, you do have a point. It comes back to the fact that very rarely are you playing with a competent group of players (i.e. TiB members) who you can communicate and coordinate with. If you have a soild team the noobtube and comping become much less effective.
