Some people swear by the Tactical button layout, others (myself included) find it awkward. Try it out.
Explain please. Another way of setting up your triggers and such? I've used this one so long it would take a while to get used to, but I'm intrigued... Edit: Also, I gotta ask. Is everyone planning to switch over to BO after it comes out (at least for a while)? I've seen the videos of the multiplayer, and some of the new game modes. They look kinda sick. Granted, we're all gonna buy it, but which are we gonna be playing in 6 months? I'd lay 7:2 on BO...
Tactical is the best fucking thing ever. Granted, it felt like walking with two left shoes for a while but when you get used to it, it becomes awesome. There's nothing quite like popping your head out from behind cover for a bit, take the shot, take the guy out, and get back behind cover. Tactical button layout essentially switches your knife button (clicking the right joystick) with the circle button. Nothing else changes. Just like with sensitivity, you'll suck at first. Then you'll get used to it. Then you'll wonder who the hell doesn't want to use TBL. No offense, Maltob.
Agreed. Once I got used to the Tactical button layout, I found it way easier to do dropshots and move naturally since your up/down, left/right and forward/backwards movements are all controlled by the two analog sticks. The drawback is that performing the melee attack becomes a bit more of a conscious effort, but I rarely stab people anyways as my first option in close quarters. So pretty much a non-issue for me. Regarding Black OPs, I will definitely be picking it up the day it comes out and will give it some serious playing time. I can see myself reverting back to MW2 if BO is not quite as fun, but I am reserving judgment until I actually play the damn thing. Seems like a lot of people are hating on the game already due to the fact that Infinity Ward didn't make it. Was World of War really that bad compared to MW1? This is a serious question since MW2 is my first FPS ever.
Multiplayer vs multiplayer I found MW1 was much better. As a complete package it's not even fair to compare.
Not that I ever played MW1, but this is Truf, from what I hear. From that logic, I should simply learn 1st Person shooters aswell as I can, because BO is coming, and I will need it. Like I said. 7:2 that everyone is coming over to BO, including the best players we know (Planoptik, who says he's die hard MW2 and Maltob, who has made no such statement). Look, be it friendly or not, I'm going to buy the game, play the storyline, and then bask in the new multiplayer game modes (at least for a while). They look fucking awesome. http://www.ign.com/videos/2010/10/01/call-of-duty-black-ops-multiplayer-customization-trailer
Two things. The verdict is in, MOH is not what it should be. I predicted this because they let DICE handle the gameplay which was a bad idea since they're so wrapped up in their BF. I've seen reviews from 6.5 to 8.5 or 1UP.coms B rating. I actually want to stop playing CoD so much because I now have 7 games I'm in the process of playing, nowhere near completing, and there are a shit ton of games I missed and want to catch up on because they're good experiences. So I'm resistant to BO for all of the reasons I've previously mentioned, and the fact I actually want to play some fun current games and not play them 8 years later which has been my gaming life trend. We'll see. I still haven't beat GTA IV, or fuck even Killzone 2. Both games I've owned longer than MW2.
Considering I haven't even bought both map packs on MW2 (much to the dismay of some of you) I don't see myself getting Black Ops immediately. I really only play online games to stay in touch with people from back home so it's really up to whatever my friends (and you assholes) decide to keep playing. For the same reason I drink and smoke, I'll do whatever the people I know do in order to stay cool. Also, I haven't been on recently because my roommate's girlfriend decided to steal my HDMI cable. Once I get it back I'll be back on and keeping you guys from being able to play in Trailer Park.
Ha, same here. MGS4, GTA4, FIFA 2010, God of War III... They're all just sitting there, waiting to get played. Not that that's going to happen, because MW2 > all of those. I'm going to quit MW2 when I get the Counter-MVP challenge. Which will be never, because my connection hates me.
I'm not getting Black Ops. If in a few months everyone is raving about how awesome it is I'll pick it up, but I really don't see that happening. The multiplayer looks shitty to me, and I could care less about custom face paint. If anything I'll start playing fallout 3, which is suppose to be good but I just couldn't get into it the first time.
So after getting to what I humbly consider to be "baller status" on COD4, I finally got with the program and bought MW2, now that it's within my price range and I have my Live account back up. Holy shit, I suck. It's amazing how much not knowing the maps can do to one's ability. If anyone cares to find me on Live, my user name is Rob4Broncos. I'll be the guy crouching in the corner throwing flashbangs at myself.
Have you played medal of honor or are you just letting website form opinions for you? I personally like the game way more then CoD. It's a different mindset then call of duty, in the fact that if you act like a rambo asshole running around trying to knife everyone you're going to die...A LOT and you won't even know where you got killed from. I like the more tactical gameplay of MoH then cod to be honest. No one does sounds like DICE does which is a plus to me.
I just had a 5 multi-killcam with a Predator, winning TDM by a solitary kill. In the last 10 seconds I would've had at least 8-9 kills, mostly of guys loitering around a care package. I am awesome! Made even sweeter when one of the guys messaged me straight after giving me a huge wrap. PS3 name is marto___ (3 underscores) if anyone is keen. I basically just run and shotgun
I haven't played it, hence why I mentioned I was talking about the reviews and mention the range. The website I respect the most when it comes to reviews is 1UP.com then after that IGN. They aren't forming their opinions for me because for the longest time I never read reviews of games before I bought them, I bought a lot of bad games. I would buy a game, play it, then read the review. With these two websites unless they were unfairly comparing it to a predecessor (which they aren't doing for the new MOH) I would agree with these sites. Now that games are 60 fucking dollars, I'm going to take those reviews into consideration a little more. Also, I've been watching trailers and game tape and all of that of MOH, the reviews were in line with what I noticed (except for the storyline aspects which I can't confirm).
So today I went 66-3 in a dom game (2 nukes), when the actual score was at like 110-75. Of course my fucking connection decides to kick me from the game. FML. Seriously.
Today was a tough day for care packages for me. I slapped Hardline on so I could try getting a game winning Killcam by dropping a crate on someone, and of the 30 or so care packages I had, I think two were anything other than UAV/Ammo, and they were both sentry guns. I also just found out that Hardcore Mosh Pit includes Hardcore Domination, which I've wanted to play since I found out how much I liked the hardcore games. Too bad it only comes up once out of every four or five times.
I defy you to watch this and not laugh at the guy's commentary. Git er dun! Also, I know how people typically feel about guys who run around with a tactical knife, but this is pretty cool:
Favorite part, in regards to getting Black Ops: "probably gonna camp out cause I ain't got no life, still livin in my momma's basement, but it's ok cuz she still looooves me."
